Cycling from Frankfurt Bockenheim to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, Germany 🇩🇪 | August 2023

Hi everyone, today we will cycling from Frankfurt Bockenheim to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof. We will also pass through Frankfurt Messe. Feel free to join me in this ride.

Bockenheim is a quarter of Frankfurt, Germany. It was incorporated into Frankfurt on 1 April 1895 and is part of the Ortsbezirk Innenstadt II. Bockenheim lies west of central Frankfurt and is the third largest district by population in Frankfurt after Sachsenhausen and the Nordend with approximately 42,000 inhabitants.

Bockenheim is bordered by the Goethe University, the Senckenberg museum and the Frankfurt Trade Fair in the south. The Bockenheimer Depot was the central tram depot, built around 1900, which is now a theatre, a venue of the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt. Bockenheim also houses the headquarters of the Deutsche Bundesbank.

Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof (German for Frankfurt (Main) central station), often abbreviated as Frankfurt (Main) Hbf and sometimes translated as Frankfurt central station, is the busiest railway station in Hesse, Germany. The affix “Main” comes from the city’s full name, Frankfurt am Main (“Frankfurt on the Main”). Because of its location near the middle of Germany and usage as a transport hub for long and short distance travelling, Deutsche Bahn refers to it as the most important station in Germany.

The Bahnhofsviertel, (literally: train station quarter) is a quarter of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is part of the Ortsbezirk Innenstadt I. Kaiserstraße is the main street from the central station to the city center of Frankfurt.

The Bahnhofsviertel was developed between 1891 and 1915. Along with the Westend, the Nordend and the Ostend, it is part of Frankfurt’s dense inner city districts. The Bahnhofsviertel is known as one of Frankfurt’s main entertainment and red-light districts (the latter esp. around Taunusstrasse), along with Alt-Sachsenhausen south of the river Main.
