I bought the HANEVEAR RX20 MAX-Pro E-bike. I’ve had it for about 3 weeks and I’m finally able to break down the good and the bad about this machine.

The RX20 Max-Pro, or the H100 in the USA, is a beast of a bike and if you’ve thought about this bike, you need to see this review. It has some demons, but those same demons make it a fun ride too! Take a look and let me know if you think this bike is something you could see yourself tearing through a forest on.

Let me know what you think about some of these issues – good and bad – about this bike. I like it but man it has a learning curve to it before you can truly dial it in.

welcome back to the channel today we’re going to be reviewing the Han ofir rx20 Max or I think it’s called the h100 in America so rx20 max is the EU version h100 is going to be the American version and this thing is a beast let me tell you it’s a little weird sometimes but overall I think it hits uh what I need especially if you want some kind of back road Beast to get a little muddy and this is definitely it and let’s jump kind of into the review and the pros and cons so I’m just going to jump into some of the specs off the website while we uh look at the bike but it has 2 750 wat Motors it has a 48 volt battery and a charger up to 56 volts the battery is 17 amps um 20-in Wheels electric only pedal assist and throttle max speed up to 45 with a max range of 50 to 80 kilomet so that’s the bike it’s also the exact bike I’m pretty sure as the h100 if you’re in America so this is the EU spec the h100 is the American spec pretty sure the they’re the exact same uh bike all right let’s start here at the handlebars we have an adjustable handlebar set up here it’s just right there simple T bar but we have the light system we have the onewheel drive and then two wheel drive button it also feels like a bit of a boost button but we’ll talk more about that later blinkers left and right and then the horn we have the computer which will talk more about I’ve already talked there about the adjustable system there and then the Shimano 7speed pretty standard system you see in a lot of bikes we have hydraulic brakes which are right there but one weird uh Quirk this is the rear this is the front I’m used to this being the right side being the rear brakes but uh they got them switched and yeah just going to have to deal with that or figure out a way to switch them around shouldn’t be too big of a problem and then finally we have obviously the throttle right there on the front you can fold this over we have a front light fenders and of course the hydraulic brakes right there and one of the motors which everything works great there we have the suspension which right now is unlocked but you can lock it if you’d like uh this is a bit of a weird thing but it comes as mace wheel which this is a bigger problem or bigger issue but uh this is Chinese which has gone through some kind of other company hir and then ended up here to me in Germany so you have Chinese support you have Chinese stuff um you have uh some weird instructions that look like they’ve gone from a Google translate of Chinese to English and uh just be ready that the book uh the and just be ready that the bike may not look exactly as the picture because it’s slightly different and slightly weird from Chinese manufacturers the bike does split and that’s where the battery is on unusually enough the key has to stay in there so again another weird thing turn the key on and then it stays there for the bike to work normal pedals the pedal assist isn’t a motor in the gears there but it’s actually a sensor and then once that sensor feels you pedaling it starts the motors on the wheels there is a bit of a latency of a second or two whenever you start pedaling or stop pedling so just be ready for that seat’s pretty normal it’s just a basic seat with uh some support and springs normal pedal system nothing too crazy here and again you can split the bike there uh to transport it you do have the battery inside there also but you can charge right there let me look here you can plug in the charger there or you can take the whole battery out and uh put the bike in half here’s the rear motor and the rear Shimano setup here pretty standard setup I’ve seen some other stuff like this again plastic fenders you have a brake light you have rear suspension and front suspension but uh overall this is the makeup of the bike and overall the pros of the bike is it’s fun it’s responsive it’s fast uh I take it off-roading on the weekend and I just kind of use it as my Forest bike and my backroad bike another big Pro is that two- wheel drive boost mode whenever you engage that the system really gets both Wheels going and it also gives you a couple kilm per hour so the acceleration is better the speed’s a little bit better if you really want to get into you know some of those back roads or some of these Trails I have up by my area it’s really nice to have that two wheel drive some cons again is some of that customer support instruction manual some of the slight differences of what I was expecting from the picture to what I got it’s just a little weird and I’ve had this experience before with Chinese you know it’s made in China sold to a company sold to a company and ends up at you type Things So the instructions are a little bit weird it’s definitely like a Google translate of Chinese with some weird grammar and expression so I actually used some instruction books uh from some of the other bikes that were more well written and I used it because this computer seems to be the same for all of the bikes so I was able to get more information from other books and instruction manuals from the same Han ofir company and it seemed to work and we’re going to talk about more specifically what those are when I go to the garage which will be in a bit some cons uh if the pedal assist mode like I said is just a sensor and then the motor in the wheel actually pushes you versus what I was accustomed to is like a Bosch motor where it’s a pedal assist it actually kind of reduces the friction in the pedal area so a little bit different you just have to get used to it um and be ready and it takes a second or two for it to engage and then disengage so something to be aware of and then finally the brake handles they’re on the wrong side in my opinion so I’m going to have to switch those around but that shouldn’t be a big big deal and I you know I can use my brain enough that I just press the other handle if I need to but if you’re super critical about you know braking and how your setup is that could be a problem all right I think we’re done for now in the meantime I’m going to bike home and we’re going to do the review of the computer system uh at the house okay so here’s the instrument panel um like I said I think they use it on several different ones but couple things here is right we have some options here so we’re going to get into the menus which is a double press right there okay cool now I this uh is just straight off their website versus the one they sent me so I went to their website and I found their owner manuals and it was more detailed than the one uh they sent me so P1 that’s just metric or imperial one is kilometers per hour easy enough then you hit the plus sign you go to two this is the voltage setting so you can have 24 36 48 or 52 volts it’s a 48 volt battery so I have it on 48 simple enough P3 is the uh pedal assist levels and that is basically you know how much help it gives in a zero to whatever number rating so a couple options I have for the P3 rating are 0 to 3 1: 3 0 to 5 1: 5 1 to 7 0 7 0 to9 1 to 9 so basically do you want 9° do you want 3° I have it on 1 to 3 just because I always want a little bit of assyst I don’t ever want to have zero or I’ll just turn it off P4 is the wheel diameter 20in Wheels I have 20in set uh it came with 24 in the computer I changed it I’m not sure maybe I should actually measure them out but uh don’t care right now so we’ll keep it 20 P5 is the speed sensor magnet settings I have no idea what this does but it’s 0 to 100 no idea so I just have it on One sensor setting P6 is the uh Governor or limiter I have it set to 40 currently just cuz I was out into the woods uh in practicality the fastest you can really go is about 35 uh that’s what I’ve discovered I haven’t changed any of the past settings maybe if I set it up to nine or something like that but 35 is good enough out in the woods I don’t need to go any faster and then in town you can um set it by uh pressing this top button and then you have 40 and then if I’m not out in the woods I set it to 25 and then you press the top side p7 is startup setting it’s zero or nonzero no idea what that means p8 is drive mode settings you can have zero pedal assist only one is electric only two is both pedal assist and electric I have it in two because I pedal sometimes and sometimes don’t but uh I haven’t played with that one yet I assume it’s as described P9 is pedal assist sensitivity uh that’s going to be 1 to 24 on lower numbers it will take a little crank to activate the mo motor so higher numbers it will take more crank oh so there you go PA is pedal assist strength again that’s going to be 0 to 5 Zer being the weakest five being the strongest as advertised PB sensor magnet setting again sensor magneet setting no idea PC is the current limit 1 to 50 amps uh not quite sure what that is doesn’t have any amplifying information you have an under voltage setting I assume it has to do with when stuff shuts off you have a password option you have a sleep timer I think it’s 10 minutes is set what mine is set to 10 yeah and then PP no idea so those are all the computer settings and you can see my setup couple Oddities are um you have some buttons on the side so don’t forget that this is the onoff button so that selects and it on selects and then you exit I don’t know if I’m doing it correctly but I hold that one down and that is some kind of like dim light on mode yeah like a nighttime mode because now the lights are on but yeah it’s weird like why do you have a light symbol when it doesn’t actually turn off lights
