Lately I got a lot of advertisement for a Givi motorcycle tool storage case that gets mounted between a hard pannier and the rear wheel.

I was thinking about my bike, where I run a topeak disc rear rack and there is a lot of space between the rack and my wheel. As I'm running full mudguards on my bike the area is relatively dry. There should be enough space for my tool kit and the bike lock on the other side.
Has anyone done something similar?
Do you have any ideas to keep the lock out of the spokes but also does not hinder removing or mounting the lock? I run a short abus armored cable Lock?
