The Carbitubo frame was supposed to give a stiffer downtube, but it was mostly a gimmick in my opinion. They do look cool though and I have seen one in real life.
Koga Miyata famously used to do this in the mid to late ’90s. They had road, mountain and touring bikes with the so called Twin Tube System, a quick Google gave me the 1997 GranLux and a Ridge Runner from an unknown year. It’s cool because it’s unusual but ultimately it just looks kinda bad imo and probably more of a gimmick that anything else. Afaik even though they’ve made them for a number of years, the twin downtubes have long since been abandoned.

Colnago produced a ti version as well. Bititan 94 or 95 I think.

AKA Bitubo. There’s titanium and aluminum versions. Late 1980’s to early 90’s.
