Road trip adventures are exciting at any time and any age, this is our trip to the stelvio pass in Italy, travelling through France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium.

is the ducati multistrada 1200s , the right machine, do we have to worry about any Italian fragility or reliability.

[Music] [Music] [Music] bonjour bonjour bonjour we’re now leaving Boro which is such a shame it’s a beautiful place that was our hotel there w we blade de cona um incredible place what a gorgeous gorgeous place to stay um and Boro in General is a gorgeous place to say so everything from here on in is home we’re heading north through Europe now uh starting with the stelvio pass this morning um we’ve been told that it’s open spoke to some bikers this morning that go in the other direction they did it yesterday and it was open Snow either side should be quite interesting tomato something tomato did he say oh possibly is it one way I don’t know surely not no it’s not one way surely that’s no entry there but no I’m sure it’s fine it might be one way anyway I couldn’t go out the other way cuz the SAT I was telling me to come this way okay right maybe it was cuz that’s them just now maybe we did come the other way okay we we’ve gone down the wrong way in a a one way street in Italy but you live by your mistakes don’t you right so yeah heading for the stelvio straight over the top take a few photos drop a few stickers and then off to Austria and into Germany with a couple of sightseeing spots on the way so I’ll start the camera back up as we get a bit close but look at this weather people this is just the best bikeing weather ever and look at the scenery to go with it uh okay it might be cuz it doesn’t open until 10:00 was going to take us an hour to get there and I’ve got to go that way anyway okay off we go up there somewhere yeah well there should be barriers like this or stone walls that other one had no barriers they often pass and I and I get that was quite scary W look at that waterfall up there the waterfall up there sorry okay actually I know when they’re coming cuz I’ve got the have on shows me when they come in so if the only traffic we have to contend with are these cyclists I’ll be more than happy what’s the start of it this is the um the South South approach to it now I’m happy for you to talk to me cuz if you’re talking to me I know you’re okay you’re okay the South face of the stelvio pass I don’t know if you can make out the roads and the switchbacks but we’re about to start it proper this isn’t the picturesque one that uh you see in a lot of the magazines photos and certainly on the Top Gear episode where they said it was the greatest driving Road in the world but it’s still certainly something a bit special we got a few switchbacks now leading to it house whoa look at that okay don’t look at it you’re all right and here we are at the top of the stelvio pass we made it we actually made it to the stop top of the stelvio pass oh my God this is insane now we just have to find somewhere to park the bike you can get a badge y [Music] [Music] [Music] yes yes we did the stelvio pass we’ve been to the top of the stelvio pass and now we’re heading down now I am going to take it nice and steady if bikes want to pass they can do but love just calm down I’m letting the bikes go past so I’m not holding them up I’m miles away from the edge I’m literally covering the back brake all the way yeah and it’s the wetest one I’m going to keep to the right hand side if there’s bikes want to pass me because they’ll only put pressure on us to go faster and I don’t want to go faster uh-huh but there’s probably people that sat at home watching YouTube thinking of looking at us doing this thinking well absolute idiots why would you want to ride up in a motorbike in this temperature with snow everywhere oh yeah don’t I got to cut every bit of video I thought I’m saying to you calm down you’re all right you’re all right okay so sorry mother is he going that’ll be the thumbnail for this bit of the video right so heading down the stot now it is a horrible Road I taking my absolute time to make sure we’re safe it is wet which isn’t making it any easier but I am damn good at switchbacks which is awesome um but it’s just a wrer passage it’s not just for me it’s not to come up here and start snaking the back end and see what speed you can get it’s to say you know what we’ve beat the stelvio pass and we mastered it and that’s what we’re doing now and it’s a fantastic site the views are incredible um I’ll show Karen on the video when we get back because she’s got her eyes closed um but it it’s it’s not a Pleasant Road if I was going to say Pleasant roads I’d say Switzerland is are Pleasant roads the Stelio pass is a challenge an amazing challenge but still a challenge regardless of how scary it is and how much of a challenge it is it’s worth it for the views she look on the video oh dear God oh and the sun is coming through this feels so good we’re outside of the other end of the stelvio and this is what we’re greeted with this is tro or trui or I don’t know how it’s pronounced but it’s gorgeous chickens cyclists crazy bastards that’s a turn up for the books you carry on Sunshine you carry on oh that was amazing I think this is actually the last switch back of the whole thing you’ve done well love did it actually say watch out for the oh look at that up there right yeah well done nerve wracking at time yeah a [Music] oh [Music]

    1. WTF was that dude doing!?!? 🤦

Good job tip toeing around those damp hairpins.

Karen 🙈🙈😂 tell her you got your knee down 👍

    2. No wonder Mrs w is on edge after that bloke who couldn't make up his mind.
Another one ticked off the list and a sticker at the top to prove it😎👍

    3. Tell Karen the Stelvio Pass hasn't got anything on Nurse's Corner and the 'switchbacks' through the middle of Penclawdd 😉 Nice video and well done. Look forward to Pt 5 🙂

    4. Absolutely stunning Phil, and great that you got to do that together. My wife would never do a trip that long on the back, so fair play to Karen👏👏👏👏
Something every biker should try once in their riding lifetime, that Stelvio.

    5. Wow! Look at that.. Oh no, don't look at that…. Classic! Lol.
I've been up and down loads of Cols in France, Italy etc, but I don't think i would have enjoyed them so much if I'd been a passenger! Another cracking video. Have Fun!

    6. Superb vid, Weston.
I'm surprised you didn't chuck a few snowballs at Karen.
We did the Stelvio many, many moons ago but it was in a car as we couldn't get three on a bike.

    7. Well done. It looked tricky conditions up high.
You have an extra layer of responsibility with a pillion. Great job with the reassurance.
What a great record of the day. That pass is on our must do list

    8. I thought he said tomato too, but think it was "senso vietato" which is "wrong way" LOL…. they drive on the wrong side of the road and Italians have no buisness complaining about driving! 😀 Hahaha 😀
The views are quite distracting, must be hard to keep an eye on the road 🙂

    9. F*cking cyclists get everywhere. I seen them red faced and puffing pedalling up from fjords in Iceland, sweating themselves stupid in Morocco and even insane enough to use their children's toys in the insane traffic of Manila.

    10. Amazing. Karen did so well, it's bad enough looking at that we road and ice, let alone being pillion! Great job to the pair of you
