In our twentieth video, we visit Broadfield Stadium, home of Crawley Town FC (RH11 postcode), find a lot of peeling paint, wonder where the statues & trophies are, but meet some friendly staff.

anything I can see from the outside are there any statues no not around here no statues [Music] no well hello everyone welcome back to the channel today we’re continuing The Stadium tours and today we find ourselves in Crawley um at the Broadfield Stadium now it’s a bit of a diversion from the plan of action because I was going to go down to Brighton but uh parking’s not great there so we ended up and the weather wasn’t good so we ended up abandoning that and we are now here instead but just to give you some sort of history on the club they will compete in the league one this season which is actually a meteoric rise I remember back in the day when I think it was um one of the non- leagues was it the national league or even lower that cwy were um and then they had some fantastic Seasons they did a a rexon before rexon made it cool um where they shot up a load of league so it’ be good to see how they do this season um but they were promoted last season from League 2 so you know still continuing the winning ways and manager Scott Lindsay their home is right in front of you Broadfield Stadium uh training ground is farmer sports complex which probably close by cuz I’m sure this is farmer unless I’m making it up um and the was founded in 1896 now already I can see that there is a a memory wall over there called the red wall so we’ll go over and check that in a sec but being a league one team uh it’s not a huge Stadium you can see so we’ll have a look and see what we can see from here um and then as usual take take all over so going have a look first thing you can see is it’s called the Red Devils noi Tere who speaks Latin don’t know how man united feel about that who came first um but here you go you’ve got the red wall now Crawley fans you tell me is this Memorial or is it just something that the fans pay for and you get a little plaque but again like KN County and some of the others it’s nice to see it in the club’s colors um wonder if actually got a spot for all of the trophies and stuff don’t know sorry everyone have to turn that off cuz there are some school kids walking past um so as you can see it’s a really I don’t it gives me like a sports sort of council gymnasium feel don’t know uh we’ve got this reception area here don’t know if there are any sort of things that you can see in this area like trophies Orit history on the club um well some information here on when they’re opened 1997 same time as Derby if I’m not mistaken uh there you go they won the efl family Excellence Bronze award pretty good sorry mate are you meeting anyone no no I was just coming in to see if um there’s an area like for the public where you can see sort of trophies or a statue or something cuz I go around the UK filming football stadium if you knock on that next door along um there’s there’s someone in there they might be able to help you I’m not sure okay cool I got shut this up yeah yeah no worries thank you yeah just knock that is that where the ticket things oh okay cheers mate hello um I was just told by the chat there cuz I went into reception um cuz I go around the UK filming football stadiums I was looking for where you have trophies or statues or anything and he said come talk to you pleas say come talk to us younger guy in Black all black outfit don’t know his name out you got paid tour or something away oh okay stairs ah right yeah when will they come out again you think during the during the during the season season potentially yeah okay yeah anything I can see from the outside are there any statues no not around here no statues no all right okay no worries Sor about that that’s all right I’ll just have a look around the Primitive are there any noo areas for the public let’s not shut off you can go all the way around um there’s like the fan Zone that way all the way around okay there oh cool okay thanks very much cheers okay so we’re having a bit of a situation like with Mansfield there’s a bit of a referb going on I mean it’s kind of common theme isn’t it preseason um but we’ll see what we can we can see oh they’ve won a lot of things Haven they efl family Excellence award 2017 efl family accellence 2019 and then of course they won it was it 2023 I saw they go got ticket office and Club shop uh opening hours don’t know if you can see that so let’s zoom in for you so if you want to come and pick up your tickets um but just to give you an idea of the scale of the stadium Mayo wind backer solic yeah needs a bit of an upkeep does isn’t it a lot of uh paint coming off yeah wow look really good track record really good stuff ah and you’ve got one of the turn Styles town team together like that no offensive weapons no alcohol wonder if uh like the umbrella that we saw at Derby county is class as an offensive weapon um but yeah you’ve got the turn Styles here got a bit of a view onto the pitch from here let’s see what you can see looking quite nice Eden Infinity Kelloggs looking like quite a nice ground so continue around to the fan Zoom see what’s going on got a bit of rubbish there I think they must have taken that up from um know they got 3G pitch rounds the astro turf yeah go around to the fan Zone see what it’s about I’m conscious that there were kids here as well so again if the camera goes off quickly it’s uh because I’ve bumped into them you can see here fan Zone Red’s Bar plant room guess that’s for electric not for actual plants oh yeah and there’s a kids training thing over there so I’m going to stay away from this area um and there’s some more turn Styles over that way but yeah there some kids training over there so we’ll go back around the other side of the stadium and see what’s going on around there so make our way around to the West stand oh know this players entrance it’s pretty cool wonder what I can see from here cool pictures going on don’t want to go in too much cuz I know it’s an open door but shouldn’t be back there like I said and you got a map of Crawley just in case you want to know what Crawley looks like there’s another entrance to the pitch some uh maintenance going on here don’t know what it is draining painting can’t really see I’d get the uh phone in there to show you in the camera but not very clear cuz they’ve got this like green green sheeting up which you can see but uh carry on around my those are really random random red doors ah now they’ve got a lot going on over here aren’t they in terms of a messy area they’re like at knot county is this standard for cwy or is this just being preseason where they’re working on it have a little nose oh that’s good not only do they have a big car park when you’re attending the game they got a bike shed here as well yeah look look at all this sand everywhere is this normal random as well isn’t it that’s something out the horror movie with that wind and then I’m well say is the away Turn Style so if you’re an away fan guess should come here but again just a few bits of pre-season maintenance work going on uh and then a few signs warning fans to behave dangerous and illegal Behavior has no place in our game so it shouldn’t people should like we’ve said before at shepher Wednesday come and uh enjoy the football enjoy the game but yeah um this is probably going to be one of the shortest videos I’ve done for a football stadium there’s not much more we can see but just to point out what I did before look at the peeling on this Stadium there’s a lot of upkeep that needs to be done ah yeah but hey they might be doing that now so let’s go back to public and uh take the Drone up take allwell up and see what we can see from the sky now we will stay this side of the stadium because there were kids over there so I don’t want to get them on camera So currently we are stood on Windfield way which is maintained at public expense what we’ve got to do is look down the road and at the roundabout there and you can see that um we’ve also checked on drone assist and there are no flight restrictions in this area home Point updated we are close to London gatwick’s flight restriction area but we aren’t in it so we are good to go so let’s get all well up and see what Broadfield stadium looks like we get up nice and high initially but as usual for the benefit of people in the area I’m going to do a panoramic shot and of course people not in the area cuz they may have never seen crawl me before here you go just lots and lots and lots and lots of green huh training pitch there and then I L that on the roundabout football pretty cool but let’s go and have a look at the stadium first so what we’ll do is we’ll head into the ground first uh and take a look at what we love the most and that is the pitch looking very green the head groundsman should be proud there are a couple of divots but they’re probably going to work through those during the season um but let’s have a look see if there’s any work going on at the moment um um H it’s a little board over there it’s quite a small stadium isn’t it I couldn’t see the capacity when I checked earlier but I’ll put it on screen now but I can imagine this isn’t going to be much bigger than than Mansfield but uh I’ll I’ll keep it a bit lower cuz of course uh kids are over there so let’s um want to keep them out of shot but let’s have a little look at what’s going on we’ve got some what’s like farm equipment there and then what’s that the media box over there I can’t see anything stay away from that area to the right what’s that over there ah these in the distance I actually somebody today told me what they are they’re like light grows so you put them on the pitch to improve the the actual pitch itself grow the grass in a certain way which is really cool um yeah we don’t want to go any further than that cuz the kid’s training but um we’ve got the Eden utility stand and then this side I’m guessing this is the main area yeah there we go there’s The Dugout with the Broadfield Stadium sign with a few sponsors on it Fuller WX Co that must be where the sort of box area is but still got line of sight so let’s uh drop allwell a little bit lower and have a look see what we can see yeah that must be where the board sit it’s pretty cool but not much going on in this Stadium I mean we walk this way before and saw that little green covering so let’s see if there’s something we can see from here there’s anything going on no can’t really see anything from there either so yeah cley Town FC fans there’s not much to see of your Stadium from this side so uh let’s do the last thing then get up higher take a picture for Google Maps upload that so you can have that forever and move on let’s see it from this side it’s a little bit windy now so we’ll take this and then bring all well down so there you go quy Town Football Club and there is Broadfield stadium in one shot so let bring all well back and move on so yeah there you go that was Broadfield Stadium Crawley Town Football Club didn’t get to see much because again it’s preseason there’s some maintenance going on all the trophies are locked away um there’s a fan Zone around the other side but like you said like you saw there were some kids there so avoided that area and then when we took all well up not much to see but reception was good no security which I was shocked about but hey this is an impromptu visit but
