um for those who weren’t watching in the break Robbie as you said a disastrous day for preon RO glitch really wasn’t it yeah absolute disaster he’s not only lost those couple of minutes due to that crash and it seemed his team weren’t even in an incredible hurry to get to the line because I think he just couldn’t ride any faster and might have said this is as fast as I can manage we we see the crash there was anast Rider at first who overla that sort of Center reservation that very skinny traffic Island came down into the other side of the bunch Primos rogl he hit the deck really hard his his right shoulder was all opened up quite a wound on his right shoulder and then Adam noticed as they riding in really quite heavy scuff marks on his helmet well not even scuff so really proper gouges into his helmet so it was a high speeed crash and if you you’ve come down at at top speed when it first happens without a chance to grab the brakes and you’ve gone down onto the road surface and yeah Primos has just had a absolute disaster of a day I was quite surprised like this finish here you know we go into the health and safety and the barriers all that kind of stuff this was inside what 12K to go or 11k to go it was 12K they’ve got that running into a finish if you look at the road it’s slightly downhill as well and they’ve got that there I know the UCI and the the Riders governing body there’s the helmet shot you can see so he has give it a good old wax so he’s back on his bike luckily but I’m sure he’ll get himself checked out but you know these parts in the middle of the road it it was clear the estana rider didn’t know that that was there you know he came from the right hand side he hit that and that’s what caused the crash of course and it happened quite close to the front so we talk about positioning but it can happen you know wherever you are within the the pelaton just such a huge blow for them okay so from a safety perspective what should have happened there should there have been an official with a Flag Warning people that it was there what been some sort of indication that there was something there I had the impression though I mean I’m saying that that is not that traffic without any indicator then again theana rer I had the impression he didn’t TR and cross over and not see it I think he might have clipped the wheel in front he just sort of overbalanced and then got against it with his with his wheel and then it was it was all over he have tried to hold it for as long as possible and just flipped over it but it’s it’s very far from ideal to to have a runin like that with that sort of Road Furniture we must say there was concern over a lotto Destiny Rider we’re still not entirely sure who that rider was in The Grind but three lot of Destiny Riders have crossed the line quite a bit behind everyone else and we know we could see that two of the Riders teammates were there with him as he was being attended to on the ground so we can only assume that those three include the injured riders that he’s hopefully back up and at least able to get on his bike and will get a full checkup of course from the medical teams that got on our socials over the course of the next few hours we’ll be letting you know exactly who that was and um what the update is we hope that everyone is okay

    1. What was with the broadcast from 20k to the finish? Hekk and Hakk and Hokk… seriously Eurosport? get some better technicians.

    2. Not much he could do. The guy in front of him avoided the crash turning into his bicycle. Roglic lost balance, was catapulted, and felt directly on the shoulder.

That is really sad. I was really looking forward these big mountain stages coming this weekend.

    3. Super tough luck! That shoulder looks really banged up. I’d be surprised if he continues the race.

Hope to see him swoop the Vuelta (again) instead!

    4. I am not a fanatic but having watched it a bit for the last three or four tours and watched Tour de France unchained, the first word that springs to mind about the TDF is chaotic/dangerous. The organisation and respect for safety needs of riders and to a lesser extent the spectators is a joke. I am amazed that the teams don’t demand more from the organisers.

    5. this finish is scandalous! Boggles the mind how they don't put protection around those rode dividers. The tour organization is a sick joke on this day.

    6. It's true that Roglic crashes often, but what was team Redbull Bora doing riding at the back all day?!? what was team DS doing?!
Unfortunately that is the result in the end.

    7. Stupid dangerous course, again

Stupid inept riders union, again will do zero

Dumb sport in this respect. No other sport wd allow such stupid danger.

You host a finish, French town, you take out your stupid road furniture!

    8. Bring back Dan Lloyd, get rid of that Danish ares hole, Robin Hatch with his stupid comments with that cringy laugh over pronunciations & just employ Dan Lloyd FFS

    9. Looks like the rider in front of him saw the Astana fell, he moved to the right, Roglic front wheel what inside that guy. So he touched wheel and tumble down. I can't believe this guy's luck. It's almost like he are prevented to race in the Tour or something. He can't get through the stage without crashing. Even if he is continuing, is going to end up like the Galibier stage. He ended up leaving the race bang up. Yeah, so sad. Now, we won't be seeing what Bora has been saying that Roglic has changed his training to more longer endurance climbing. Ow, well.

    10. Shows the importance of having your GC rider right at the very front of the Peloton – notice where Pog was – it’s a real shame though – Roglic isn’t on the same level as Pog or Vig but the battle with Remco would have been interesting

    11. As expected after the crash he is now out of the tour. That is very sad. But he did help Vingegaard once again the beat Pogacar by pulling him all the way down. So year Im sad about that part too… and the same pulling him downhill on stage 4 too. WIthout Roglic in the tour, Pogacar would have had maybe 2 minutes now.

    12. This is strange but not coincidence, Roglic has terrible bike handling which makes him kissing asfalt so often ! It is a pitty that such accomplished and good cyclist keeps on falling and falling …

    13. What is it with Team Astana riders always causing crashes. Headed of course my the most reckless rider the Tour has ever seen, Mark the swerving bandit Cavendish
