Jenna and i went to run the Northbrook 10k.

good morning and welcome to SP sh YouTube channel welcome to Northbrook 10K day y uh it is the only race uh that we can walk from home to the start so the start line is a mile and a half probably from our house uh the Finish is probably a mile from our house you hate walking I do hate walking but it’s it’s easier than actually getting in the car driving uh so yeah we’re walking down to the start so it’s been a week since my halfy man uh last week uh I’ve done no training whatsoever this week uh I’ve not been on any runs nothing uh so my expectations for this morning are zero so I’m just going to go out and just have a run and just use it as a bit of a training run I think you’re pretty similar yeah I don’t e yeah so I don’t know so we’re both we’re both not going for it today both said we’re just going to have a bit of a bimble a bit of a bit of a jog round a bit of a training run so so it should be fun I’m looking forward to it I like North yeah it’s a nice local race it’s a nice h one uh 4 miles of rolling the hills and then 2 miles of downhill at the end uh so yeah we’re going to walk to the start yeah just have a a bimble bimble and then we’ll see some people hopefully uh be plenty of local people here it’s a it’s a nice big local race I think this is part of the wer Road Race League oh have a good turn so yeah it should be lots of fast Runners uh closed roads so yeah should be good so let’s get there let’s uh carry and walk in and we’ll be there in a minute right we’ve done the uphill walking we got a downhill the downhill stretch now to the to the Scout H and then we can drop our stuff off put my shoes on and then uh yeah we got a bit Yeah and then we’ve got another sort of I don’t know I’m not going to say half mile quarter of a mile maybe up to the Jag club uh the Jaguar sports and social club and uh yeah then uh we’ll get to the start and I’ll change cameras cuz this one’s got heavy so I got a big volter grip on this one so I’m going to change to my lighter camera yeah we’ll film on the way around don’t if I’ll talk or not see if I get Brave I always get dead nervous chatting in front of people so good L Cheers buy right we are now changed uh we’re in the running kit uh yeah we we’re definitely not uh feeling it this morning but yeah we are just I should probably should have worn my sunglasses to be fair cuz I’ve got a bit glint in my eye uh so yeah let’s get to the start I’ve lost Jenna I don’t know where she’s gone I think she went to the go get a drink somewhere but yeah we’ll uh go and find a few people and uh have a little run Jenna’s now caught me up she’s changed bir now not good Hill she had a drink and her toilet stop and she’s in there I didn’t really need the toilet up but you know You’ got to go anywhere you got try the Rival Massy Club so yeah sorry about that the loser for us buys lunch so I’ve already bought lunch it’s in the fridge oh okay so at home it’s oh God how boring are we food’s at home Chu is in the fridge we have a lovely day out we’ve got to eat at home so I B5 with me for cake so okay so yeah finish I’ll buy it if you want if my B be the loser I eat loads of cake what did you just claim you’re going to do a 27 minute 10K 27 minute 10K I said I’m going to do yeah okay which in fact I was meant to say probably 27 minutes for a 5K and then another 29 minutes for a second K I’d like to do 27 minutes for 5K not wearing carbon shoes so that’s my intentions of not to go too fast not to get pulled along get him a number he’s joining in that and here’s a star first high five man last week smashed it Leslie so there is three of us here all want to make a complaint to Fitness granted uh we did his circuit Clash yesterday what I turn on you I turn on you and my amring so David Fitness granted we are we just don’t like you so yeah we’re not coming ever again no one go and then we’ll go exactly next week and H again Satur we’re there on Monday yeah we’ll have changed our mind after and here’s Leslie who absolutely smashed it last week did you enjoy it last week now I think I did this time she was smiling the whole way around I’ve never seen someone do a half Iron Man and look so happy especially in the end I was so happy so much so I’m absolutely devastated I’ve just learned that the the start is on a hill I thought no I thought we start over the top of the hill but we actually start halfway down the hill so we got to run up the hill so yeah really not happy about this I found this hill already trying to catch you up earlier so I think that should be taken into account yeah and it’s a hilly route it’s 4 miles of up and down and 2 miles downhill to the finish uh should be good following everyone down follow my squad [Music] norber at 10K with the g dog we’re off we’re off running up hill already I going to say uphill yeah I’m not happy about this we’ll see Adam at the finish I think he’s just going to go yeah it’s going to take our time have a nice little bimb around see you big owl that goes past me in every race every single one going to get in one day today’s not that day [Music] M number one 716 tell a bit too quick but yeah let’s slow it down supposed to be having a just a nice easy one I this doesn’t feel easy so let it off thank you and you can tell her CH Tri F she’s so called here cuz she has is not hard enough just Hills here easy I’m going to cycle here as well it’s not going to reallyu it easy just waiting to the last two fun Maes oh nice nice tactics thank you is ready and the joy of not doing a warm up is the first mile and a half sucks so yeah I’m in that sucky phase right now yeah probably should have warmed up but I’m not racing so ni [Music] three M number two 7:36 so yeah few more Hills to go yeah have a drink have a walk it’s quite nice hope he’s racing enjoying this so we are now on the cough half course going a long drag to a turn around Point except for we don’t do a turn around we go straight up the hill so yeah even tougher but we use this bit to film some people it’s all crowd coming just waiting on Graham Graham should be soon I can’t see him oh I can just see ground now so oh how you going how’s up here he comes here comes the J do and fell had come on Sue catching me on the hill he’s the fittest pension on the planet that’s why got push gram too early so this will teach Graham for having a 4-we holiday this is what happens you have to walk the hills no alcohol Night Before the Race oh so he had one night off the drink that counts as training love it so yeah any money C 150 M around the day round France but think about 10 be of every every stop so it’s a we’ll get to the top of this hill and then we’ll go again 50 oh mile that mile for me was 10 minutes so yeah got a few people there trying to film some people yeah we haven’t got the legs today so let’s not push it take a time enjoy it as much as we can here just all right I said the week R this together with you I know hey the yeah that two years ago had a half decent right next hill we got two more we got this one and we got watery lane and then we go downhill but my legs are shot yeah not mine gr’s legs are shot kev’s legs are shot so we’re having a lovely conversation when we’re going to walk yeah we’re just going to get to the finish and enjoy it it’s not all about speed every single time so we do these events don’t always get anxious about how fast you got to go and your splits just go to some races and just enjoy them support your local clubs and just enjoy it okay s c heading back into commentry it up thank you everyone you’re looking B you’re looking strong keep it up so mile number four 914 exactly the same as mine yeah we’re through 34 minutes so we got two miles left to go we got one more Hill and then we go downhill for a mile and a half at the finish so gets easier after this next Hill so this is the last Hill from a little walk up and this is what going out too fast looks like I didn’t me think out too fast but I got the legs last week yeah killed me but it is what it is we’re here to have a lovely time ground we are indeed yeah and it’s fun watching people suffer lovely country going up oh thank you very much good there we go big fan of the channel what’s your name Tom Tom there he goes Tom smashing it look at him go that’s how you run the hill not like me and gram look that’s our proper Runner does it yep absolutely here we go got North brocker coming through I hatte this smashing it he loves it North Brock love Hills it’s his race he did this it’s north Brock’s fault and we got Mass’s coming good effort Massi downhill coming okay good God right and there’s Lisa I don’t know why she’s not running hey hello Le you all right yeah not so bad see Lisa’s Posh she lives out this way so she lives in a gated compound out here so she’s Posh that’s why she’s shoing us away from a drive right ground 2K downhill nice and easy down here we got this easy easy easy on number five 9:06 a bit of a walk up the hill but it’s all good we’re both not going for time so doesn’t matter hey clads thank you thank you look like I’m enjoying myself you do no more photographer on course Sarah 1K left ground’s actually loving life now here yeah absolutely come on Jay dog down I’m his own personal videographer today yeah critique my Stu M number six 747 gr’s absolutely loving life over here can’t even breathe near to finish breathing come on finish you off [Applause] girl thank [Applause] you go on gra gu our finish thank you very much 53 minutes so somewh old ground did you enjoy that ask me again in five minutes at the moment I’m 50/50 absolutely 5 minutes I would have loved it [Applause] [Applause] done smashing it Leslie yeah go Jenner [Music] so the reason we run is for cake I made many Victorious for that amazing thank you she’s already eaten us it’s already gone so uh yeah let’s enjoy this have a coffee and then we’ll do a debrief on the way home so there we have it nor brck 10K done and dusted uh you’ll probably see from the the film in that yeah it wasn’t my race but it was never going to be my race uh yeah I finished in 53 minutes and I’ll put my stats up for you to have a look at there uh yeah we ran some of it we walked some of it me and Graham just had a great time enjoyed it never going to have the legs after doing a half arm man last weekend uh yeah so so went out far too hard slowed up yeah had a walk had a nice time Jenner on the other hand how did you get on well I know I was running PES I had no business running in yeah abely smashed it so I’ll put Jenna stats up on screen I was I was quite pleased I didn’t really have any goals I just ran and I know it felt good so I ran faster yeah so there you have it so yeah Jenna Jenner absolutely smashed it so yeah I didn’t have a particularly bad run I just had tied legs from last weekend uh and yeah Jenna absolutely smashed it around so yeah we had a a good day we got our medals y oh lovely medal thanks North Brook yeah we’re walking home now now having our yeah cool down and then we’re going to have a lovely shower food and a sit down and a sit down so I might be asleep by   1. Great vid Stu. Never done a race before (not including school!). So need to get to a couple! Looked like a tough one with a few hills, sometimes they are much nicer to take at a leisurely pace 😂
