Nibali, The Shark of Messina, is one of the greats of cycling. To meet and ride with one of only 7 cyclists to win all three grand tours was a fantastic honour. Thanks to SCOTT Bikes for bring us together on short notice after realising we were both in the south of Spain by chance. Filmed with the help of Alex Colorito.

hey welcome to Culp Spain I’m here with an absolute Legend of cycling venzo nibbi winner of all the grand Tours massive one- Day races he’s done it all thanks so much for joining us penzo thank you thank you very much yeah yeah today I’m going to take him on a quick hour loop around kelp we’re going to do a bit of a climb have a chat on the way up to the top taking the view of the whole city and then I’m going to jump behind you and we’re going to do The Descent back to town it might remind you a little bit of uh poo descent you know nice and twisty back to the ocean um I’ve watched you race so many awesome races like watching you escape on the Poo you know you’re one of the the legends of the standing I think in Theo when I win the Milan I have the best condition but s the same in the tour the Lombard my first my first tour the Lombard I had the downhill is uh going to the breakway hon and uh after finish the spectacular Victory uh for the classics the best monents no Milan win the Milan and the to the lomard I think is H to big emotional yeah yeah yeah I mean you’re one of the guys that really put the sending on the map by by showing it’s a really good tactic to to get away from the rest so I do love the sings obious see you’re one of the heroes I always looked up to so big honor for me and it’s going to be an awesome ride today okay Sumer ready just a little bit fat but the leg is good I don’t have a problem awesome awesome a all right you’ve also got a really special custom foil um Scot foil so yes I think you can give us a quick look at that bike and then we can get rolling okay and normally I use always the the bike for the class but with this bike is uh is too too too fast because is a real hro is the front fork super super AO the C ho inside and uh with this bike save more more energy in the in the flat and and after I have more energy for the climb it’s still a it’s still a pretty light bike you know for a full Arrow bike so yes sometimes I the full full H bikes for example when I win the Milano yes I was for the first time I have a bike but uh normally I prefer the the the bikes more light but in the in the new era all bikes Is AO but I think the design the aerodynamics this is the new Scot foil is a super super nice with so many peoples uh the stop to look at the bikes and are super uh super beautiful tell us a little bit about the paint job you have on here in the catalog is normally is the black mat but Scott to reserve one special bike with a special color is a is a mat with a glitter glitter yeah yes glitter we have the sun super fleshing yeah in a special color all right okay ready yeah ready let’s roll out here [Applause] [Music] in the morning when walk up the F reaction is I look the window the time is good I go to riding with other guys but the the weather’s not good no good today you know what that’s exactly what I do for example with the r no take it right here h CU now in Switzerland it’s too cold 5° four it’s all yeah it’s so hard so when you are racing you just every day doesn’t matter what the weather is you go yeah when when I I’m professional Rider every day mhm okay if uh outside of the rain though I wait uh the time time good no but for example the time is good I go ride for 5 hours and the last two hours they take the rain no problem uhhuh I’ve seing you race in the bad weather you’re you’re a pretty good uh racer when the weather’s bad too so it’s good because the sensation when I drive my bikes completely different with the with the with the rain with the water the sensivity in the hand for The Brak uh-huh it’s a um I I don’t know to to explain this yeah like the capacity to drive the the bike with the with the vet uh H part now it’s completely different so you have to practice the sensation is completely different here for example yes there the guys who go to train with the with the with the rain uhhuh it’s it’s cold just made them go out [Applause] yeah yeah I’m I really don’t like riding when it’s wet because sometimes you never know how slippery it is going to be with oil or something on the road but in the race you don’t get to choose but in the race sometimes heav the rain it’s hard I mean you race in snow in all kinds of crazy conditions so I is one Milo with the snow so hot so hard this Milano win ch second finish Peter sag yeah mil to time before the toino stop the The Grove uh and uh the the bus waiting because in toino have a full full s and passing in the in a gr and they start again and uh uh uh I don’t know the name of the city is in the sea no but [Applause] hey and they start again for the last 100 kilom yes be before the Cy like cuz the snow was so so bad it’s kind of nice when you win the race which really tough yeah you know means even more also when I win the Milano in the starts in the morning a full rain it’s cold and after toino the weather is uh good the Sun the in the last part of the race so it’s such a long race you have the whole experience all the seasons all the different weathers really a crazy experience in one day uh uh yes Theo is the the race with the the higher kilome nor 100 but it closed the r with 6 hours this is super fast and then you need to Sprint at the end maybe the average speed is too high so when you are going down the Pu do you practice it many times in training or you just you just go I go you just go but uh I don’t push a lot in the downhill because uh uh after the the downhill and the long way is a little bit up up after after 290 kilm the leg is burning a little bit in the okay when attacking the Poo I think it’s a good F in the down but with a little bit res so you’re not sprinting out of the corner gas after Corner not sprinting okay and uh take take the right speed but not full and the back I have 1 it catch me and the radio Pao Longo with Alberto wol in the car V so good good have 1 10 seconds it’s okay okay but I don’t lose my focus and when to go in the flat F full gas full gas for 1 kilometer and with the corner just one a with the corner and the the the rods after the corner go a little bit down okay just for take the the the break and when I arriv in the last kilometer for the finish the many people the I don’t know the name the rumors has v everybody screaming for I like just only one time back so no way we Meo yeah I mean it’s uh yeah home crowd when they finish I I have the big smile how long because I don’t yeah think the two weeks before uh-huh I speak for the for the program on Milano and pauloo call me come on Vino come on Milano to help cor to win because Milano is a a special race it’s impossible to uh predict yes is uh I try many time to win Milo just is it is is the race for the Sprinter not for for me yeah I mean you’re one of the few guys that can win a grand tour and a one day race yeah it’s not easy but the one one day race over here we’re going to take a left okay where up here has different mentality because one for one day race have only one day so all for this day is a I don’t have another day in the F The Grand Tour maybe tomorrow yeah you can uh yeah today it’s not super good but have tomorrow you can have a bad day in the tour yeah in a one day race yeah one bad thing happens and that’s it so you really need to there a normally in the France or the jro or the wela this is the focuses in the in the last part okay in the the last hour yes in three days when I have many many clients yeah Oh you mean like the last week yeah [Applause] so yeah we’re going to be climbing now for 4 and 1 12 kilm obviously we know you know how to climb we talking a lot about descending but you have to be one of the best climbers in the world to win the Tour to France before no no now have 10 kog more so when did you realize you’re a really good qu primer how old were you uh I realiz in 200 2008 2009 2009 I finish uh the tour the France in seven place this tour win Alberto contador uh handy leg Frank right big big line up and you’re right there Lance Armstrong uhhuh and the the battle for the sixth place seventh place is with BR wi Wiggins oh wig so that’s a crazy crazy era yeah so many top cyclists yeah and then to try and make a name for yourself is just days ago one F sent me a video uh the battle in m 2 okay yes it’s one line hate Rider is Frank handy lens Armstrong uh CER me P bit in front and the backway and the a brad they catch my my wheel wow a full gas in the climb oh that’s such a this is in 2009 and 2010 for the first time I cross and the third position one big tour is Jala and the last part of the SE of season I win the wela in this moment I realize [Applause] okay for me it’s possible win one uh big tour right and then you went I won uh P twice and the tour yeah so I thought you would believe much much sooner than that good because it’s good for me because in the past I work always with a big Champion for example baso M uh also when I start my car professional Rider with f bortolo have Fabian kelara and uh Alexandro is a different ride but the mentality is the in the group you’re learning from those guys yeah you’re studying [Applause] in what’s your most uh Happy memory from your career what sorry your most happy memory from your whole career sure the Milano most happy because I don’t think to win never thought you would win but uh uh I think uh the Jalia is the best moment because when I have only 12 years 13 years I follow every day J watch television with my dad oh that’s beautiful there a had the crazy battle with a panta also the FR panta with L Armstrong uh uh my story is this as I look the television the the big Champion uh this name for one Italian Rider I think win the Jud itala is uh the best moment yeah for sure your home home grind tour yeah okay this is going to get very steep for a little bit here I think it’s like 200 M I have special gear in the back oh yeah Special extra climing gear you know I thought we have to see if you can still climb a little bit so we got to go up here and now for for 3 4 400 35 when you were first racing grand Tours you didn’t have power meters uh the power meter have been training uh in the F professional Rider with f bort but holy in the training you were not allowed to use it in the race in the race uh in 2018 with the F uh no FASA sorry Lecky gas licky gas yeah you do a lot of climbing on at the moment at home no I have a lot of climbing but at the moment know and the last two months and done done training a lot because uh born my my my daughter miliam also I remov the plate and the okay the wrist how long did you have that there two here and half I crash in 20 uh 20 uh before the start the J Italia yeah cycling It’s a cruel sport [Applause] okay I think that was the worst part of the climb we still climbing but lot of steep I mean wow yeah climbing is hard but it’s always the skyline is good it’s worth it beautiful out here yeah that’s what I find with the scy bikes the cornering is is really easy almost it’s like yeah you just point it and it just takes you nicely it’s like really nice uh but now the the the bike with the brake disc oh yeah with a big tire low pressure it’s too easy now huh to more comfortable have a more grip is a when take the the corner the bike is more stable right in the past you touch the the lever the the bra yeah the Brave the the wheel start vibrating yeah so now I every [Applause] the vibration yeah I mean I watch old racing and I just think it’s crazy you’re going down with 100 people in the wet and the problem not the dry when wet yeah you break nothing happens for 3 seconds nothing yeah I mean that’s also like you’re talking you have to practice because you know it’s going to you have to break earlier cuz you know it’s going to take a while before it even starts to do anything yeah I only started riding this brakes the problem is sometime the the big rope in the front have the the big crash or the you can’t do anything the r stop uh quickly you touch the brake and all the bik no no [Applause] so you think it’s a good a good thing disc brakes for modern racing you prefer it now yes and start no because many Rider have don’t T all right and the group is different yeah it’s really dangerous some people stopping much faster okay the condition when is this drive I don’t have uh uh problems any problems big truck I’m glad you haven’t been training because the old Venza would have been finished already I need toart again this is your first day slowly yeah s a training [Applause] plan uh the the power the leg is good but the [Applause] okay well I think we’re pretty much done climbing so do you have a favorite place to ride a bike anywhere in the world or too many places uh in the place in the world to to train ride your bike that you like the most H the most beautiful uh I don’t know but uh um I think uhhuh I haven’t been I’m going later this year I’m going to go visit many times a training camp is a riding in the do area with the pasella p Bo is a St is beautiful nice yeah I can’t wait to go going to go in July yeah in July yeah I you know I’ve seen so many photos and videos it’s time to visit it it’s too harder for for uh for the training but uh is a is beautiful because uh the this is the queen queen Mountain know yeah also one time I ride in uh in TDE California oh yeah and in Colorado Colorado is beautiful I didn’t know you Ro the Tour of California so what year was that do you remember uh a long a long time [Applause] uh in 2012 okay Colorado yeah it’s after France when it start again with the season I start there in Colorado yeah it’s not simple because uh it’s too high elevation elevation yes 3,000 meter yes and above so just up that building there we’re going to stop over there okay it’s a little store somewhere [Applause] there on the corner [Applause] [Music] [Music] oh okay louder you know it yeah know [Music] [Applause] all right well thanks so much for speaking English with me I know it’s your third four language yeah okay from uh here we’re going to put the camera on my chest we go downhill you don’t have to speak you just have to take Corners perfect okay so it’s what you’re good at doing a right application to speak in English one two three well thank you man thank you welcome yeah how many photos you have to take a week 1,000 I don’t know also I leave in Switzerland so so easy easy because the the people that stressed the the big champion and when you go to Italy it’s crazy in Italy yeah [Applause] guys to the left y [Applause] oh [Applause] he [Applause] he [Applause] take a ride up here v y and then just all the way back on this road that’s how it is no [Applause] okay that was fun W yeah it’s beautiful easy no easy easy nice and dry still going down a little bit more [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] look s [Applause] he wasn’t lying when he f the power is still good [Applause] he [Applause] [Applause] okay back in town man you you uh you still have some good power I see you were lying oh the power is good the Earth rate too high the legs are still good yeah for 2 hours it’s perfect after 2 hours the FL will go down you got to start racing Criterium come to America yeah yeah yeah oh for uh more RA in Mountain Bike 2 hours cross countryes for sure you’re racing uh mountain bike uh maybe uh want ride the S epic I want to ride that too yeah you need a teammate no I don’t have at the moment but I need [Applause] yeah you ride the mon bike I do yeah I have a Scott spark yeah what what uh bike do you have for mountain bike in the past I go all the way mountain bike in the winter okay uh I have a good uh confidenti yeah which which bik do you have the for SC uh spark spark yeah awesome with the the same color the team and the shifter x6l is well yeah nice awesome how much how much mountain bike how much Road riding do you do at the moment uh at the moment no nothing uh riding all always with the road bike but uh we go back at Tom I I need to rest start again where is home for you what where is home uh swiz yes Lugano beautiful yes the area is uh is good for yeah hey well maybe sometimes ride with philipo Colombo it’s a rider for Scot yeah exg Rider so you don’t want to be my team in the Swiss epic what you don’t want to be my teammate in the Swiss epic who you yeah with you yeah we’re both on Scot or you want to race against me okay you have a good L well two hours I’ve got good power oh okay no I wouldn’t never embarrass you by uh slowing you down [Applause] last years I ride with the Samuel poro and K epic so so hard with the elite license the full power yeah how many times you’ve done the case epic just once just one yeah you going to try again maybe the future but not this year great so like Amad years for for full power so so hard last year is easy because I finished the season uh I continues to train in the mon by the power is good the weight also in my body and uh when uh I than the so I I have a good condition [Applause] yeah how long are you staying in C before one week yeah you got some big rides [Applause] planned the next days riding a little bit with the the rider the Alo AR the boss I thought you’re the boss not the big boss big boss so you going to teach some of the guys how to go down here nicely no just uh on the wheel and follow the guys no on for me now is for funny and the guys is a is a walk all right venzo I can’t thank you enough man thank you thank you very much yeah yeah I was a big fan now I’m a super fan yeah thank you very much for uh 1. This made my day Safa! Fun and casual chat with another legend. As a Sicilian, there isn’t many riders who made it out of the island and reached this level. I can tell how much Milan Sanremo means to him. Well done!! 10 extra kilos Vincenzo is still a powerhouse, what was the climbing wattage for you to still chat? Bravo Vincenzo!! 👏🏻🦈🦈🦈

    2. Круто. Очень круто Safa. Ты красавчик. Привет из России. Молодцы. Ты талант. Блогерское искуссттво. Как и Terry B. и Никита muskakult. Вы лучшие из всех велоблогеров шоссе и грэвел.
