We Cycled to an Abandoned Stadium in Germany…

We are in Germany and this cycling video is something we haven’t done before…

I am here with Dave Watson, also known as Watto, who is a former England GK coach as we ride our bikes into the beautiful city which is Cologne to explore an Abandoned stadium.

The Weidenpescher Park Stadium once had the capacity of roughly 16,000 and was often used to host Germany international matches in the 1920s! It was also the home of VfL Koln 99 for 99 years before they moved to their new stadium!!!

me and W are in Cologne we’re on our bikes because we have got wind that there is an old famous abandoned football stadium somewhere in the city center right up that way what’s up there W we’re on the rine cologne’s that way let’s get the adventure started right boom we’re going to get on the go in a minute I’m going to show you some of the sites of cologne it’s absolutely beautiful isn’t it what we’ve been here for a few days already let’s hope we can find this Stadium not only find it maybe get inside as well apparently it’s fully derel it’s like boarding up and something I don’t care this is beautiful let’s go [Music] wa right W I just want to know I want to pick your brain why is it yeah that you have started riding your bike cuz you absolutely love it now don’t you I’ve always had B knes so obviously the uh stressfree element and weightbearing element of not putting pressure through my knees and the mental Freedom it’s given me has been incredible but I’ve been doing this probably 10 years but 18 months ago I had a full knee reconstruction full knee so you got bad boy metal knee in there now metal knee you’d never believe it I’m cruising along here next to the Rind like a a young kid out on his bike for the first time it’s the best thing you’ll ever do it’s so good it’s so so good we’re in Germany riding alongside the Ry we’re heading into a lovely city cologne don’t get much better even the sun’s out a little bit as [Music] well Co what it’s a little bit warm today isn’t it mate oh it I’ve got just the thing for you oh what a look at this did you know w that Shore non-stop protects you from sweat and odor for 72 hours so w you bring the heat Shore will bring the protection [Music] [Applause] boom right that’s where we’re headed the cathedral they call it the Dom you know W they call it the Dom we’ve been there a couple days already it is beautiful we’re going to try and find a coffee shop around there get a nice little slice of cake as well honestly it’s so so lovely right we’re just got over the bridge into cologne City Center’s in front of us it’s a bit windy you know I’m going to have to just hold you in front of me what [Music] W just wants to bring me through the busiest High Street in the whole of why not a bit of parve for you as well oh right we got the Dom in front of us this is the cathedral double pretty even got the Bells on for for [Music] us what up as far as Cathedrals go what we saying they don’t make him like that anymore my that’s incredible is it amazing oh wow yeah it’s beautiful that right come on coffee shop let’s go let’s go you saying what absolutely bouting right watsy tell me a little bit more about this stadium that we’re going to go and try and visit today so it’s the former home of vfl con 99 the club dissolved in 2013 don’t mind me but we’re going to try and get to this stand which is one of the oldest in the whole of Europe it’s situated next to cologne’s race course the grass has all gone gone it’s all Shale now for parking for the horse boxers but the stand remains and as long as we can get close enough we’re going to get some good footage when we get there right banging little coffee stop let’s get ourselves to this Stadium let’s have a go come on hello B oh steps oh no we got a little we got a little here think W we’re on the road mate yes should have bought a b us what kick about the abolutely we’re in the city now not with your knee mate your wooden take no [Music] chance how we doing wat City Light City Light right I think we’re nearly here we’ve made it through the city it was a little bit dicey I won’t light you um but we’re here in one piece that’s all that matters um and I think think it’s down here in a minute let’s have a goose W I’ve got a bit of a bad feeling mate yeah it’s not looking good the gates are shut that is the entrance the gates are shut and to double down he only going to got puncture as well puncture just on Final Destination we literally pulled into the road um and yeah he got puncture anyway we’re going to walk it down there come on waty let’s go and have a look I don’t think we can get in but you know what not the end of the world we do thankfully have Jamie with his drone who is going to get inside the stadium and have a good little Goose around I’ve got my phone on me as well so I’ll have a little zoomy zoomy all right come on a there she is waty well we finally made it it would have been nice to sit on the seats oh look at that we come all this way found the stadium and it’s been turned into basically a bit of a parking lot for Amazon Prime um vans they got some horse boxes over there and that is the oldest standing stadium in Europe that right there so uh we can’t go in so just enjoy some of these drone shots from Super J hav and I’ve got to get a lift on [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] oh [Music]
