crosswind nervousness had the peleton on high alert all day and yasper philipsson makes the headlines for all the wrong reasons in this Sprint from maon to djon 164 km long mostly heading north with cross tail wind although it was only 20 kmph highest average speed throughout the day so not quite high enough to ensure there would be Carnage with the right direction with a decent amount of wind would be a nervous day the sprinters most likely would make it to the finish although the jury was having words with everybody they’ve been talking to dele to whoever Cavendish philipson and then you can see the wind was not that strong when they started but everyone was on the front row no Breakaway went for the whole day because the GC teams and everybody was trying to stay in front position just abrahamson jumped out with zangler to take some km points and the inos radio kind of explains that it’s like probably there won’t be splits but better to be in front just in case at the intermediate Sprint camps tried to snipe the points but eventually philipson actually came through there first and then for the next hour I took uh Siesta to about 80 Cas to go so I don’t really know what happened I actually missed this Lotto did try it seems now that I’m watching back the tape but it didn’t go anywhere so that was good but it wasn’t strung out yet and then that made everyone even more on high alert UAE team Emirates not the best in positioning in The Hectic so then when inos and Bernal is trying to move up underneath them they get a bit more nervous Solair is not happy with they just ride away trying to see who is the strongest in the end cooler heads prevail behind uh but look at kovski I just want you to watch him how crucial he was for anyos today he plays Solair here Solair gets closed from the right by quick step and then Fiat kovski comes Underneath Him maintaining his position and then all of UAE basically get chopped out of it and that keeps Rodriguez moving up the left hand side uh with the whole inos train just as vizar Lisa bike launch it kovski sees it coming starts sprinting he doesn’t get fully closed to the other side you see vizar there as a whole team leaport behind vingard vanard in front of him and they’re about to absolutely launch it Bora got their rulers ready in a line on the right hand side and when vard puts the hammer down we’ve got the right direction of crosswind not that strong but you can see cross tailwind and vanat is putting it in the gutter whilst pagat is on that open side more exposed to the wind and they’re going to go through some Villages where it strings out the bunch and then you kick out of that village with classic Specialists like they or Kristoff the door and it’s going to be in a line Egan Bernal also you know get him in the tour of Lander Squad Pitcock though if you’re at the back and it split it’s all over RIT knows that familiar habits die hard he seen this script before he is absolutely sprinting out of these corners and he’s actually the best place GC Rider not on V team vimal Lisa by like when it actually begins to split which it inevitably will even without the strongest wind it splits with 81 case to go and you don’t even know who’s in which group you don’t by the time the directors know it’s split it could be 2 3 minutes later Pacha makes group one we know that cuz he’s chopping off with the boys it’s easier to roll through than too risky to sit at the back Vima whacking it inos Mak it in numbers with carito Rodriguez Pat is on the radio saying where is everybody they ain’t there all of UAE apart from him missed it Almeida is coming back with pollet in group two so there as well and almea and a Uso they’re real Podium candidates certainly top five candidates goal missed it the presumably built I think Bill Bal missed it as well so You’ think in group one it wouldn’t just be Carlos Rodriguez pacing for inos if he’s got a Podium goal especially as they made it with with most of their team and some good rulers but Thomas doesn’t really come through uh neither does Turner Carlos Rodriguez probably looking back like I wouldn’t mind putting some time into a us and Al maer and surprisingly apart from Bora and visma no one really takes it up in group one despite patcha being isolated and some other guys being off the back so it Peaks at 27 28 seconds but it comes back with 70 K to go and then nothing really happens GC teams all get together they ride on the front sensibly there weren’t any other opportunities to split it there’s some near crashes where there’s a coming together breaking luckily non crash federov I think on the front for aana nearly crashed then they’re on the radio case bow saying go to the right hand side aana wanted to be in front early today and they were trying to close and block off the whole right side of the road in the run into the 4 km uh to go safety zone today Vima trying to keep uh vingard in good position so when they see an opportunity through an upcoming roundabout they’re going to close them off but yeah there’s another crash Moran venburg was going for the Sprint he goes down Pacha and Remco they’ve decided to sit at the back with a team around them with breaking distance and not really participate in the hectic in front which probably is safer half the time but visma they decide to close off aana on the right hand side which is bad news for the aana train because once they get to 4ks to go they’ve put it basically in the gutter and almost splitting it but once but note and jensson get to 4ks to go they stop and so a stus train that’s behind them get washed over and chopped out of it and they have to make up positions where the GC Contender just roll to the back yonis abrahamson though Uno X really set this whole Sprint up they come to get there at 3K to go and they’re pretty much on the front till 500 to go no one washes over Court I thought ARA samik were about to do it there’s varish gold in front of Kristoff Van’s going to slide underneath I think Sam bennard or his lead up man nce and onto the wheel of Robie philipson is trying to move up on V’s wheel a bit deeper on the barriers groven though look he’s got two guys in front of him he’s in good position and they peel off they don’t just stay in his way uh mesg gets they get him up into position and peel off themselves before too late he’s on vanarts Wheel who takes Philipson’s wheel off dele dele opens up his Sprint really early as does vanard with 250 M to go philipson though comes out of vanderpool’s wheel looks like he’s going to win but Gran with the smooth Sprint on the right hand side look at where he Sprints into the wheel of the leag get the perfect run perfect slipstream because he’s jumping early to the clear space left whilst philipson he’s reacting to the Sprint of vanat and philipson gets relegated rightly so okay he creates space a little bit by moving vanard first movement here cuz he’s trying to get around his lead up man Vanderpool fair enough that’s sprinting side by side and vanard still got enough space but then he can go straight here he’s got space to his left he can just go in a straight line but philipson decides to keep moving across vanard to the barers and ironically that even cost him crossing the line first spending that energy off balance when you see how close this Sprint eventually was cost him crossing the line first because he’s more focused on trying to close van up maybe it’s just to force a habit than just sprinting in a straight line to the Finish as fast as possible and Dylan Kon can in that big gear takes the W philipson very upset at the Finish but only got himself to blame yasp but the disaster back Gran taking the big win philipson eventually relegated by the comair benum second then gavia baras leave van dear Kristoff and Pascal aan and yesterday I was a bit disappointed about myself because the team did a really good job but uh yeah today didn’t niled it again and in final kilometers we stay calm and had a right right moment then we go bit in a slipstream and then I actually don’t know what happened with I was first but tomorrow we got the all important first time trial who’s going to win Remco is the big favorite how much time will Pacha take on vingard I can’t wait to watch it I’ll see you with the recap then ciao

A relegation long overdue
The fact that he did worse than this to Bini last year and never got punished but now the victim is different and so the decision, different standards for different athletes, shocking!
Ref your Podcast: its pronounced Søren (you said this the right way) Waerenscholl – the K and D in Wærenskjold are both silent
He is being doing this kind of stuff all the time ! Needs to be disqualified!!
Last year he won a stage at the tour doing same crap and wasn’t punished! Get him Out!!
Don't like Philipsen
This brings me great joy re Jasper. He got away with it last year. NO MORE!!!!
Jasper is not prof
Dirty play. It’s a drag race. Show us you’re stronger or piss off. Jasper is a cheat.
You do the best explanations. Thank you. 🎉
Hanging out with Vestappen…probably
Jasper, the disaster? More like Jasper, the bastard.
what's the impacts of relegation? getting 107th place as a penalty results in what? points?
F jasper. He deserves everything that came to him today. That dude is a dangerous rider and is gonna get someone hurt.
Philipsen such a great sprinter, but his awful arrogance makes him unlikable.
New noun the hectic
Honestly, the PELOTON should "adjudicate" Lil-PP-sen for his transgressions. Where are Peter and Caleb when you need them? If Lil-PP suffered a mid-season injury that kept him out for a while, it would be BENEFICIAL to the peloton, and NOT the saddest thing to happen. B*tches get stitches!
He is not good enough to win without closing the door on riders
I'm happy I found a comment section that hates Jasper's riding style as much as I do
Jasper could've won that stage. But he chose violence 💀🤡
This dude is so dangerous….
Philipsen did the same thing last year. Right decision for him to be relegated
Bad jasper
Philipsen tactics about as clean as Legion
To which John Degenkolb threw up his hands and rolled his eyes! Jasper nearly wrecked Wout & the UCI takes action. Jasper absolutely caused Degenkolb's crash in Paris-Roubaix & the UCI kept quiet? Degenkolb was the only rider left whi could have out sprinted Van der Poel & his teammate takes him out. Funny how that works
