there are a whopping 22 teams in the Tor of France and to the average viewer their bikes look like spaceships but which is the cheapest the one that you know you could actually buy if you save hard for like several years and which is the most ridiculously expensive we’ve been through the pelaton and crunch the numbers on the main bike for each team yes the super cool TT bikes can cost way more with loads of like custom 3D printed components but we’re sticking with each team’s kind of main drop bar bike there may be some slight differences between the bike you see the Riders on and the one you can buy but you just want to get a good idea of roughly who has the most expensive bike in the pelaton we’re also ranking the bikes in their Great British pound prices but I will put the dollar prices on the screen on some bikes we’ve had to kind of form this dollar price from a simple currency conversion because those bikes aren’t available in the States but I’ll mark those with an asterisk and remember crashes do happen in Road racing bikes do break so just remember how much each half of those bikes costs when you see them split in half by the side of the road let’s start with the cheapest and then work our way up if you want a torto France team bike the cheapest way to get one is to buy Uno X’s dare VSR you now on paper this bike is actually even cheaper than shown at $6,990 but shipping this into the UK would mean adding on the joys of our 20% vat tariff the team’s bike is is decked out in a Shimano Dura Ace di2 group set with a super deep DT Swiss wheel set making it a super nice bike at nearly half the price of the most expensive that we’re going to show you later in this video and I’ll be honest I think this is as expensive as top end bikes should actually go hit the like button if you agree with me another seemingly good value top end bike comes from Cube gai’s inter marhe wanty team should be on the lightning arrow for most stage again with full Shimano dur Ace di2 group sets Newman supplies the wheels and I really want you to check out the hidden valves that is some exceptional kind of what Saving right there for1 more you can have the excellent Marina reactor of the Bahrain team this a road bike is getting a bit old now and I was hoping to see a new model from the Taiwanese brand but maybe we just need to wait a little bit longer uh this is a dur Ace build but this time Vision supplies the wheels and the integrated front end now traditionally Canyon has been seen as a good value option and their top end bikes continue to be one of the cheapest Tor France bikes if you measure things by Sprint winds this is also one of the fastest with yasper philipson looking to defend his green jersey from last year he is and it’s not just alasin on the air Road mistar have the same bike orbe it with a slam red access group set now at the doen we also saw the team using an updated bike with what looks to be a new front end maybe that explains the discounts on some of Canyon’s air models next up and our last bike under the £10,000 Mark is Van rell’s RCR when Whispers of this bike first started being heard I was really hoping that the teen model would come in at under the 8 Grand Mark it just didn’t now this is a Shimano bike with a few added features I love the carbon tie chain rings and it is cool to see the team on look pedals but those upgrades might just increase the price on what you pay one of the main shanu sponsored teams and where we first saw the latest juras components popup is DSM they’ll mostly be on the 105,000 Scot foil an a racer that gets pretty darn close to the uci’s minimum weight limit I have to say I’ve ridden that one absolute Peach of a bike jump up £1,000 and you can have the look 795 blade of cofidis now last year the team ended its Tor of France winless run which stretched back to 2008 weirdly Netflix barely featured this in their latest series but here’s hoping we see more of this bike in 2024 this build is one of the coolest in my eyes with the mandrian paint scream and a host of French components such as the Kara Wheels the SRM origin power meter cost around €1,800 so that will bump up the price of this a team bike over what you can buy in the shops another bike at the £15,000 Mark is Factor’s Ostro V bam vam vam vam though this is seemingly cheaper when bought in the states the Ostro is built with Factor’s in-house blacking components with the team using a range of wheel depth depending on the stage two teams use the Viller filante SLR but we’ll start with Mark cavendish’s record breaker the Stana is a team that buys in it Shimano group sets and so the team is able to fit an slf motion speed oversized pulley wheel system yeah a lot of words that uh the rather tasty build is finished with a set notorious latest cors of pro tubeless tires you’ll see a load of them today fdj have the same bike but godu and Co will be on a much more Shimano Focus build with Continental Tires in fact godu is on the new Vila vertical when the mountains come around and he pairs this new bike with very old school Continental tub tires panach the space around the £ 122,000 Mark is pretty busy this year with six teams separated by just £50 that would make a buying decision very difficult if you have 12 CR now the ARA team has their 11,940 bian Ultra RC bikes decked out in Shimano J Ace and it is quite a mar bike I’d say when you get to the hey Heights of £12,000 saving a one is probably quite important who knows anyway the the orb Orca Arrow of Lotto Destiny is one of the number that uses fsa’s power box power meter with internals from Power two Max yeah very well done zip provides the wheels and Victoria offers again the lovely Corsa Pro Tires another bike that Creeps in Under 12 Grand is the impressively lightweight giant Propel of Ja alula the kex wheels are some of the nicest in the bunch of my eyes in fact if I could pick any Pro bike to own it might be this one yeah I think I’m the same CU I wrote the script the 12 Grand Mark also sees a brace of tarmac sl8 for quickstep and Bora but each team has a slightly different build now quickstep uses a Dura Ace group set and some Riders such as aopo opt for tube type Clincher s Works turbo cotton tires they do look very nice I have to say the team has ral’s latest rapid cx3 Wheels which aren’t currently included on the commercially available s works sl8 that might bump the price up in the future as these wheels are £3,000 on their own that’s just silly it really is just silly Bora also have those fancy new Wheels to go along with a new name they’re now Red Bull Bora handc which is going to be easy to say and they’ve also got the latest samam red access group sets so with silver accents everywhere this is a really shiny very handsome bike did we really need another navy blue team kit no we did not visma Lisa bikes star studded squad has a new Sello S5 for the tour and if you want one of these it will cost you a cool £12,500 this is another bike with surrounds red access group set while sur’s sister company Reserve provides the wheels it’s also another team with a New Jersey with the Bumblebees swapping their normally yellow hit for the Jazzy design during this year’s tour one of the only exact team replica bikes you can buy is Canada’s super 6 lab 71 of the EF team and I love it they even make the team’s a beautiful paint job available which I really think sets them apart from other bikes the 122,000 build uses a duras group set with vision wheels and an FSA power meter if you have 10000 more you could get ino’s pinell Dogma F this is fresh to the market but the team’s build is unchanged with a jur ace group set and wheels very similar from anyos really B quite a similar bike new to the Pelton for this season is Envy’s Malay melee M Mele who provide total energies with their frame cockpit and wheels but I have to knowe this bike is cheaper in the US as Envy is an American brand if you’re over the pond it is a mere $112,000 bargain for our last two bikes we step up to and exceed £4,000 which is frankly ridiculous for a race bike in my eyes these kago V4 RS bikes are finished superbly With Envy Wheels carbon tie chain Rings carbon tie brake Continental gp5000 time trial tires and in the cockpits so what could be more expensive well thank you very much specialized after we filmed this video they went and actually released the Red Bull Bora handw bike 14,500 which is frankly ridiculous but it goes in here kind of in second place sorry about that we got one team left it’s the little track team with their latest Mone bikes these things which only launched last week cost a staggering $14,700 if you’re in the state the bike the team rise will cost you $177,000 $177,000 $177,000 that in dollar prices is more than double the cost of Uno X’s terabytes I’d like to say and just think of the cost of all the bikes little track will take to the tour teams are made up of eight Riders they all have a race bike and two spares for the following team cars I’d also Imagine The Mechanics truck has a fourth bike to cover any breakages out on the course do the numbers that’s 32 * 17 grand just a casual $544,000 just in bikes Jack I knew proos site thing was an expensive business but that’s just huge anyway I want to know which which is your favorite bike If Money Was No Object which would you have and if you’ve liked this video then why not check out our other T to France videos just up here

  1. If you're purchasing a $10,000 bike online from the other side of the world, it would be the same price (if not cheaper) as travelling to the manufacturer, visiting their country for a week, get the right bike fit and change the components, instead of paying a $2000 import tax. You're welcome ☺

  2. I use a skin suit now. More comfortable than bib shorts and has pockets so no less practical. I think this idea will slowly replace bib shorts and jerseys as it just makes more sense. Cyclists are slow to adapt to change, so I expect it will take a while though.

  3. UnoX isn’t using the VSRu, they’re on a new one called the VA, which at Eurobike they’ve quoted the frameset/bars at $5500 USD. So… Not the bargain pick any more

  4. Little bit of untruth with the Trek Madone. The stock bike they ride is about $13,500. They offer a specific Project One paint job that will jump the price up to 17K

  5. The Trek Madone is actually showing here in the US as ONLY…. USD13,500…. I think the extra 4k would be for a custom Mads Petersen style paint job above a beyond regular team bike replica cost.

  6. I've just bought the merida team, from a tcr sl both dur ace top spec and the merida is a rocket.

Double the price of tour bikes is ridiculous for tiny gains if any at all imo.

  7. Just bought an Ostro VAM…the Enve Melee and Giant Propel were also on my shortlist. The new Van Rysel aerobike would definitely have made the list too – that grey/marble colourway is fantastic
