Hi there fellow bike packers!

I’m currently did my first bike packing trip, from the Netherlands to Oslo in Norway! It was a great trip and I’m completely in love with bike packing. I used Airbnb to sleep somewhere. It was quite nice to have a nice bed in the evening but also expensive. So I’m thinking about brining a tent with me for my next trip.

I currently have an ortlieb 16.5L saddle bag, an AGU bag for my handlebars and a smaller Ortlieb frame bag for tools. With the set up I’m running now, I don’t have the capacity the bring a tent and some light cooking gear with me. I’m looking at frame bags who cover the complete triangle of your frame. But I don’t have experience with those, can you guys recommend me a good bag to bring a tent with me?

I added a picture of my current set up. Thanks 🙂

Does your fork have mounts for fork cages? I have found this to be the best way to transport my tent/ground sheet/rain fly.

To answer your question directly, on my last bike I had a Revelate Designs Ranger full frame bag and it was my absolute favorite bit of kit ever. I was very sad it didn’t fit my new bike. It’s a little stretchy, which is great if you like to cram a lot of stuff in it, the zippers were great (avoid Apidura; their zippers SUCK), and the inside is well organized, adaptable, and has some cool features. There is also a separate side pocket on the non-drive side that is great for wallet and personal items. I highly recommend.
