like in everywhere in the tur France when there is a a danger a climb a descent or a gravel section It’s always important to be in the front a warm welcome to the white roads of champagne just uh positioning great teamwork we need to keep the good position on a bench you have to be lucky y by visar in absolute chaos you need to have staff on the sectors with wheels in in case you flat if one ner makes a mistake in front of you it can complicate things a lot you have to pay a bit more attention how you break how you take the corners because the surface obviously is not as good traction if I was a GC Rider I would be probably a little bit of respect and fear for that stage it’s not going to be decisive but uh you can lose the tour tomorrow the stage of Tomorrow will be one of the most viewed sports events of this year so uh I’m excited and I’m looking forward to it the white roads of Stage Nine could have a big impact on GC the pelum will tackle 14 gravel sectors and the key will be good position conditioning and good luck there was a lively start with attacks flying left right and center the average speed was above 50 km an hour making it hard for any moves to [Music] stick more chance of a break going there keep your eyes on vpol is’s always there in the front but didn’t do anything yet eventually 10 Riders opened up a small Gap among them G Lano van Hills stoven and Vish the former gravel world champion they’d soon hit the first sector counting down from 14 to one and here we go first sector today welcome to the white roads of champagne welcome to the gravel welcome to the Dust Bowl welcome to the arena where these Riders are going to have to fight it out now pidcock with Healey going forward Ben Healey and Tom pidcock countering from the peleton and with the help of Healey’s teammate Nelson palus who dropped back from the Breakaway they managed to bridge their way to the front 12 Riders now leading the P come to a stop see the Riders there just even decided to run up [Applause] the Breakaway weren’t being given much freedom and they remained within Striking Distance of the yellow Jersey group and speaking of the yellow Jersey T pagat taking the front of the peleton there is pagat has decided to put the pressure on at the front T paga just testing his rivals on the early gravel sectors where there was a bit more climbing but things quickly settled down again then on Sector 10 it was Remco evol’s turn to light the afterburners oh there’s an attack from Remco this is a big move by Remco aapo with Vima Lisa bike not closing the Gap quickly enough for his liking paga took matters into his own hands followed by vingar but with the day not contributing the trio called off the charge allowing the Breakaway to pull away again now on attack at the front of the yellow jersey with Michael Matthews and hooku is in that second group the world champion mat V thepool the green jersey try as they might the chase group conning Vander and gami couldn’t close the gap on the eight Riders now leading 25 km and three gravel sectors [Music] remaining on this Pacha now launches the tornado strikes on the gravel with 22 km to go ferard desperately trying to stay in the wheels this is a big moment in the tour really good job boys there really good job come on bring him bring Yas back to the wheel then we sit in the wheel Remco aapo is going to rescue the scenario he doesn’t have any teammates left he’s also going to bring rogl back so the top four are going to be all together again there are so much power in this group originally but now they’re St to really think can I win the stage this is yper stoven the 32-year-old rider from lvin in Belgium as he now tries to win this stage now he puts the power on huge acceleration as Pacha tries to get rid of the rest of the Riders behind him look at Remco aaple as he tries to close the gap vard immediately reacts again go go go go go go go go yper come on Sten looks around and suddenly this Gap is going to close 450 M of racing to go you have witnessed an absolutely gargantuan stage of the Tor France on the gravel Aaron burrow the Spanish Champion is alongside him Derek G is there the Canadian G now hits it Derek G opens up the Sprint tures is there pitcock gets ready it’s Anthony tures Anthony tures pitock through the middle it’s going to be a win for total energy a win for France a win for [Music] [Applause] tures for [Music] [Music] T finally Landing the big win he’s been threatening for years now his first at the tour to France his first at World Tour level pidcock and G were second and third it was a typically aggressive performance from patcha but he didn’t actually gain any time on his GC Rivals he ends week one leading by 33 seconds gay didn’t have the chance to go for a third stage win but took eight points on the Finish Line increasing his lead in green to 96 no points today for abrahamson who remains 13 clear of patcha as the king of the mountains and Evan Paul ends the first week of this tour to France as our best young Rider see you again on Tuesday

    1. Didn't like how Jumbo was racing (although smart and tactical). Not contributing to riding, esp massive attacks like when Remco and Pog got away. A tad boring.

    2. So much better not being trapped into using French media where they always divert to some tourist attraction in the middle of the race.

    3. WOOOOOOOOO VeryVeryVery Touch Stage, Amazing, well done to the organizers, maybe another Classics Race in the future for that stage

    4. Why do they call these “Extended Highlights”? The race lasts for 4-6 hours and the highlights reel is 8 minutes long (and includes a 2 minute intro). 🤷‍♂
