    1. Drop the chain off of the crank and then rotate the crank to see if it’s coming from that zone (probably BB if it’s crank related). If doesn’t make the noise in that scenario, I would pull the rear wheel and check hub end caps, check for smooth hub bearings, feel freehub for smooth action, and make sure the cassette is tight. That type of resonating popping noise is usually bearing related, usually hub or BB, but it’s really going to take isolating different parts to narrow it down.

    2. Sounds like something is rubbing on something.

I don’t think it’ll be the chain because it’ll make the sound consistently.

Take a look from the back, as if you’re truing the wheel or rotors.

Look at your hub. See if there’s any play between your cassette body, hub shell, axle, wheel, etc… pay attention as the wheel rotates if anything rubs.

Can also be your brake rotor hitting your caliper.

    3. Is the chain routed properly through the rear derailleur? Sounds like it might be routed around the tab and rubbing on that

I have this same force group and it makes the same exact noise.

It is coming from the rear, but I can’t track it down either. Reply me here if you figure it out please.
