many questions were asked ahead of today’s stage one thing that was never in any doubt was that it had all the ingredients to be an epic stage for the ages and that’s exactly what we got from start to finish there was so much to go through but we have to begin with Anthony chis taking his first Grand Tour stage win in his 12th Grand Tour and it’s a tour to France a home win a third win as well for the French an epic day Rob epic day uh the question has been answer does gravel belong in the Tour of France hell yes not even going to say the word because it’s just obvious but Anthony CH he’s he’s been close to some big wins before second in dandon second in Milan Sano second in ker Bristol ker he’s finally cracked the top step and what a way to do it in the tour to France at home home roads across he’s a Classics man so across the gravel this will make his entire career absolutely beautiful and you can just see the emotion coming through in the Finish Line there Danny and you could almost hear the hearts of the rest of that grip breaking as they crossed that finish we were making notes in all the rers we thought we were going to win I had yasper sturing I had everything written down on him Tom Pitcock coming close as well I thought Ben Healey was going to have his moment it was so close for a day that was so fraught it was and it was a spectacular day wasn’t it I’m eating my words here but for those guys in the front it was a long day out for them and such a big opportunity there was two races going on today really wasn’t there there was one for the stage win and one for those GC guys really looking to stay safe but what an exciting finale you might be eating your words Danny but doesn’t it taste good very very good bit dusty but good this is what we this is what we wanted didn’t we and I’m just glad the GC Riders stayed safe out there and it was such a great day I’m glad we didn’t know all day long if they would stay safe though had and that was absolutely nerve-wracking thrilling an equal measure from start to finish wasn’t it I mean if you’re making a movie out of something and you look at the rri in terms of action which you pack into that movie we’ve had it all in one stage there’s been punches there been crashes there’s been attacks there’s been group go back there’s been groups off the front of the group off the front off the my popcorn be all over the floor there was just so much to keep up with today I mean it’s one of those ones where if you join the race later on you might think nothing’s happen in terms of the GC Riders but each of them give it one heck of a go today T Pacha Remco yanas was dropped then he got back on he changed his bike on his teammate’s bike for the rest of their St it was just drama throughout the wasn’t 10K without something going oh what’s happening what’s happening it just incredible stage I loved every second of it a 5 hour action move yeah we were saying weren’t we because we obviously cover and follow this race every single day we usually take a little bit of a break maybe you know five minutes breather right side you could not leave your screen all day long I’ve never been so tired sitting down me too you imagine being a bike rider in a day like today I don’t know what will be hard the physical exertion or the mental the emotional psychological probably the physical you’re going to tell me but still the mental strain of all of that the GC teams massively a mental strain and I think it’ll be a huge side relief for them crossing the finish line today they were all put under pressure at one point in this race weren’t they Vima Lisa bike and UAE really did take control shapo to them but for Red Bull I mean they would have been worried at one stage Ro glitch was out the back they lose one St one stage being stage n yeah I can imagine a rest day spent on the bed just staring at the ceil in the room being happy nothing is going on yeah the their bodies will still be shaking probably as they’re lying in bed

    1. Hey Eurosport, just heared Robert Bengsch, one of the best German speaking commentators of Eurosport TdF is leaving your team after just one week to become swim instructor in Riminii. How crazy is that? How can you let him go? I am really dissapointed by your decision!

    2. The time trial was excellent but today's stage was more than spectacular!
I forgot what the Tour was and enjoyed it as if it were a Monument.
Anthony Turgys with an ENVE bike👀 How Roglič suffered but he saved the day. The stage was so frenetic that Vingegaard could not return with his bicycle… And Remco wanted him to take over. Then the Belgian paid for it and also risked cutting himself. Jonas comes from a serious accident and weighs 10 kilograms less than Pogačar. It is suicide to go with a runner as explosive and versatile as the Slovenian.

    3. I agree with Jonas that gravel race shouldn’t be in Grand tour. This could’ve been a disaster for GC contenders. If they get a multiple puncture. Too risky..

    4. Attacking Vingegaard when he had a bike change is not cool. I remember Jonas waiting on Podgacar after he crashed in the tour 2 years ago. Rumours are Pogi Always trying to make good friends with the opponents and talking shit about Jonas in the peloton. Not a true Champ.

    5. These commentators add less than zero value to the event. They should provide insights to non cyclists, not just recap what we can see on the screen. Zero stars.

    6. great job Eurosport! Your live broadcast basically missed all the important parts! I get the need for advertising things like Tudor or Swift, but for god sake tell me why do i need to watch for the gazilionth time Carlos Sainz riding up a dune, Cathy Freeman running in overalls or Megan Rapinoe score a corner kick?????
