    1. I know that area very well and Epping forest has some great trails, the surrounding area is very popular with cyclist in general with lots of group rides, the forest can get busy on the weekends at peak times with dog walkers and family's and I avoided these times when possible. I personally never liked cycling on the canal paths just to busy. You could have also knocked off one of Simon Warrens 100 greatest climbs "Mott Street" if you are in the area…

    2. Living where I live in Southern California, sometimes we have to make gravel rides up from what little bits we have nearby if you don't want to have to drive somewhere to find it.
