I’ve got more bearings now & trying to replace, but when I spin the wheel the metal holding the bearings in comes loose. Not sure how to fix this ?

I think your axle snapped. Take it into the shop if you feel like it’s worth paying for a hub overhaul. If you aren’t doing it yourself, a new wheel is usually about the same price as the labor + replacement axle, so unless there’s sentimental value consider upgrading to something new
