Jaroslav Kulhavy (Czech Republic) – wins the gold medal in the cycling mountain bike cross-country event at the Hadleigh Farm as part of the London 2012 Olympic Games (12 August).
Nino Schurter (SUI) won silver in the event with Marco Aurelio Fontana (ITA) winning bronze.
The first national mountain bike championships were held in 1983 in the USA. But the sport quickly grew in popularity in Europe and Australia. The first mountain bike World Championships, recognised by the International Cycling Union (UCI), were organised in 1990. Olympic recognition followed and mountain biking made its debut as an Olympic discipline at the Atlanta Games in 1996, with a cross-country event for men and women. The programme has remained unchanged ever since.
It was in 2008 in Beijing that BMX made its debut on the Olympic programme. BMX is one of the fastest and youngest cycling disciplines. Its principle is simple: eight riders compete on a track filled with jumps, tight bends and obstacles.

way true… this isn't very fun to watch, they need to add DH mtbing to the olympics
what the heck? i dont need to hear your interviews! show me the event!
agreed haha. i do XC riding its fun (of course not on an olympic level), but yeah its just not as action packed as DH.
were those guys on fs or ht?
greeeeet race
i guess both.
ht is most popular for xc
yes, they can choose .. nowadays most riders choose full-susp, but depends on the terrain they're going to ride
You can watch the full race on the same channel, its an hour and a half long if I am not mistaken.
god i really feel for absalon. he is the greatest champion mtb has ever seen!
correct, but full suspension is good for downhill, hard tail for cross country
The cross country races i do don't look that fun
cross country bike its good for down hill and cross country ?
Incorrect, "nowadays most riders choose full-susp, but depends on the terrain they're going to ride.."
If you can see, Kulhavy rode the Epic which is most of the time THE perfect bike for XC, and full suspension.
true, but i like hard tail for cross country, better traction without a rear suspension, then full suspension for downhill for best shock absorption and less hurt on my butt and spine
I uhhhhhhhhh… they uhhhhhhhh… but uhhhhhhh…
His daily regiment of Imuregen gave him the strength and endurance to win Olympic Gold in Mountain Biking
watching this race again and again. Much more exciting than porn 🙂
HERE is my video"CAMPIONATO mondiale mountain bike mtb 24 h wembo "
Said a lot of uhs
I work at Hadleigh where the site is! We manage it for public access now 😀 Pride!
What kind of Olympic race is only an hour and a half long? What bunk! Mtn. bike races at that level should be at least 3-4 hours. Disappointing.
I don't really understand why the Americans don't dominate the mountain bike competition. Just seems like one event they would have locked down.
and….
Nice to see🇷🇼
