right this is more Gentile a new service has opened along the seafront at the sundland to help people experiencing loneliness they can take a ride on a TR Shore which you’ll see in a moment if you’re wondering what that is yes the city’s huk branch has launched the service completely free for over 50s and what it says is a fun way to meet people Jim Scott saw it in action in Seaburn it is nice to be beside the seaside but it’s even better sharing it with a friend traveling down the beach that’s what it’s all about that’s what it’s all about according to Nadine and Marian they’re among the first to try a new service to help people over the age of 50 overcome loneliness and depression in the form of three wheels and a seat for two this was put forward to meet new friends and really just to get myself out of the house cuz I was becoming quite reclusive I met lovely people like Maran I’m feeling more like me and then you get de like this s are glorious we’ve got the best course line in the UK my opinion and uh it’s just fantastic if you’re housebound you know you can come and just get the fresh air the big sea breeze for the summer the trsh show will be making full use of seab bur’s prominade and although there’s only room for two passengers are encouraged to have a at with the driver it’s being like a breath of fresh air met so many lovely people and we had so many friends and and colleagues who I’ve met it’s the best thing I ever doing is been a read pick up for myself as well the wheels of the project started rolling when a local charity wanted to try something different they say it’s the only service of its kind in the region we wanted a fun way of getting older people out and about a lot of older people have mobility issues and they find it very difficult to get out and about so this is a fabulous way of people being able to you know go out in the Great Outdoors see how fabulous line and to really just enjoy each other and have fun but it’s not just about enjoying each other’s company it’s having a little bit of attention now and then too yeah people have been lovely Royal we people have been fast one one fell went uh seeing everything now Jim Scott BBC look North Seaburn they having a cracking time aren’t they all right and they got the weather they did but did you see it had a hood at the back which I think is probably a wise idea and they certainly kept the draft off today wouldn’t it bit BL today wasn’t it yes you can see that in tonight’s weather pictures we start off with Clive shot now immediately it’s not obvious how windy it was looking over darant water but look at jet seers there and that gives you an idea just how blowy it was and next up we’re back to Seaburn actually it’s eting short this gentleman very sensibly hanging onto his hat in that Gusty Southwest of wind and talking of hats at Seaburn this well equipped very skillful photographer we searching everywhere for that elusive T no idea where it could be thanks to Tom great shot there now
