I know it’s hard to tell over pictures but I’m looking to buy this bike being sold for about 200$, and it’s got some nasty looking rust. Everything else seems to run fine. Not sure if this bike is worth that price, any advice is appreciated:)

I wouldn’t buy a bike with that much rust personally. Let alone for 200
Not really but the headset cup is cracked in half
Looks rough, i would definitely not buy it. It’s a cool old bike but it’s very old and looks like it’s been kept outside for a long time. Save your money.
I wouldn’t buy if I wasn’t after the exact frame and it is rare enough to justify the effort.
If it was 5$ probably. You have tons of work to do for it to be 200$
It’s dead, Jim.
If it was cheaper, I would probably risk it, but for 200, not really. Most of the rust looks okay, except for the first photo – seems like there are pieces of metal rusting off and peeling away, that’s something I would be worried about.
Also another thing to consider – if you would want to make it look good, you would need to sand the whole thing (or sandblast, if you don’t have patience for that, I know I don’t) and paint it, and that’s getting a bit too expensive and time consuming.
I wouldn’t pay more than $125, but that would be without the headset crack.
God knows how they managed that, and what other gremlins are lurking
