the RM United podcast thank you all for being with us on polling day um we’ll talk football don’t worry Football chat on here um so we’ll talk about some R news this week that’s got confirmation of players stay there’s been a lovely awake kit announced um Cup tickets have been announced we’ll go through that and we’ll do a bit of a preview of Euro quarter finals um that’s coming up this weekend Friday Saturday uh they’re coming up mick how are we I’m all good mate thank you are you I’m very very good thank you Sun’s finally come out you know it’s taking you know seven months of the year to get through together but it’s finally appeared Danny how you doing mate I’m doing all right thank you guys how are we all very very good and jooy back how we doing Joy as I said earlier I’m absolutely shattered I arrived back home at 400 a.m this morning real commitment to the podcast we appreciate it Joy uh YouTube and Marco carella with us as his Paul rhs Richard and bricktop is with us as well um let’s start with the Euros because Joy you you were in Turkey whilst Turkey were winning in against Austria which sounds like a bit of an experience to be honest with you I’ll be honest with you other than supporting Ram that it was one of Tuesday night was one of the best football experiences I’ve ever had in my entire life uh up there with you know you know the uh 60 OD years of supporting Ren but no it it was awesome you know country like turkey I mean the Fanatics absolute Fanatics for football and obviously ly nobody gave them an Earthly chance against a team the austri the Austrian team who were playing really well under ragnet to be brutally honest you know I mean they came top of the group with um who were they with forgotten Holland were it yeah yeah yeah France and Holland that’s right and basically so I suspect you’ve all been in Europe and when tourament football’s on are even away it’s the best experience ever I’ve got an obverse story as well about the England game on Sunday um but it was really really good fun I mean at a fulltime I was being kissed by complete strangers oh it was awesome yeah the beer and wine was flowing it was all free they were running up and down with fireworks cars bibbing you know f um pyate Technics the lot it was it was a really good night because obviously the kickoff there is 10:00 f okay so by the time it finished it was gone midnight nobody went to bed we didn’t bother we didn’t bother but yeah it was and um yeah we were all saying to to that’s how you pronounce turkey in Turkish apparently but yeah they’re cracking it I just tell you this one story about the England game on Sunday as Dreadful as it was we were in this bar obviously loads of English fans even Turkish guys were wearing English shirts poor things so obviously they scored and we were all in I dge and work with and we didn’t look like we good it you know side of a barn door with a banjo um but any road there’s a power cup power cup there a fire in the hills and the power went out and obviously you know these bars and clubs were just packed to the rafters unfortunately Ely for me I was in the only bar that had its own generator so while everybody else had a break from it for an hour and didn’t know what was happening we had to sit and watch it which was you know it really everybody in the town brought the chairs and sat around out but yeah we didn’t even realize it had been gone for I think the lost power for 60 Minutes of the match from just before um just after they scored until sort of halfway through the second half and we were thinking well how lucky were you yeah but uh lost power at least didn’t cut out you know at least didn’t miss the bellan goal you know at least you got that in no no I mean I mean I must admit uh watching tournament football when you’re abroad is really good fun it’s like being on a big away match with the whole country you know you’re not just there with your fellow fans from rodam you’re there with people you know apart from being in the ground itself I think it’s probably the best way to watch International football tournament football Yeah Yeah Yeah from now by I’m Turkey um on the England game John S points out the group of fans that left before the final whistle in the England game they got think went viral didn’t they um for saying it rubbish the r fans I kind of feel sorry for him because they’ve had to put with ram All Season been garbage been absolutely terrible and then they’ve Claren out to Germany and England have been terrible and they’ve left is the only good moment of the entire year basically I mean it’s typical it’s typical that there other fans and that to be fair you know I didn’t realize that and and I I’m thinking you know what there’s no excuse for leaving before game but now I understand I thought understand why they did it’s just unfortunate is it but yeah school boy eror cool boy era yeah um few days has passed Danny we’ll talk about the Switz GE in a minute has past since the Slovenia game are we still he’s still in terms of performance he’s still pretty negative about it all still quite frustrated about England of playing um I think it’ be harder to be praising England the way they play him at the minute um I still don’t know how we’ve played so poorly and we’ve ended up in a quarterfinal um because let’s face it we didn’t deserve to win that uh Slovakia game we won it by sheld look and by the skin of a teeth um and you know like they said on um um Gary Lin’s podcast if the game were a minute shorter we’ have been talking about the worst England performance since Iceland in 2016 and possibly even worse because we’ve played play shocking the entire tournament um but everyone keeps saying how England tournament starts now what no now England’s tournament should have started um on on Match day one but it seems like our England’s tournament starts now now we’re in a quarterfinal no we’ve just we’ve been so poor that we’ve not turned up at all and going into the Switzerland game which we’ll talk about in a minute I’m sure I’m thinking England are going in as underdogs Switzerland have played far better than we have um and will we be able to cope with being The Underdogs for once my opinion is no I don’t think so something has to change drastically um which you know it sort of has to because gay is suspended for the game so there’s gonna have to be a reshuffle um but will it be enough and will Southgate have the um um the balls effectively to drop one of the star players because they’re not performing well come that he seems to have found a system where you don’t have to drop anybody which I quite like but we’ll come on to that in a minute um but then Jo the the alter look to that is that results don’t performances don’t matter Austria losing to Turkey is a perfect example Austria were the kind of the team to watch going out the group stages they come out that group and they did they were brilliant in the group stages so so good and then they come up against turkey who then who didn’t have a great group stage but then managed to get past them whereas England the opposite had rubbish group stage but managed to get through so there’s there’s a Bal as a fan it’s it’s a difficult Balancing Act but we’ve got to find that balance act with not being too negative because we’re in the quarterfinals and there’s only eight of us there no I mean this is it I I mean they keep TR sort of winding it out saying the Trope of it’s tournament football but yeah and I know we’re fans but you want to see a little spark of entertainment a little spot of creativity you need something to hang your hat on and apart from bellingham’s goal against Slovakia we’ve not seen any quality no composure I mean let’s be brutally honest those who was around the playoffs in 2018 who would have thought Ivan Tony Super Sub it’s it’s it it’s it’s poor fair is it and if you’ve not got if you can’t get going now by the court finals yeah how you how are they going to get going H what what’s going to be the Catalyst to get England motoring is it the fact that they’ve just got all these good individuals that shine for the clubs because of the players they’ve got around them at Club level and when they put them all together as individuals they just don’t Jael or they don’t seem to is it the management nobody seems to have a bad word for Southgate the man but as a manager let’s be brutally honest since he’s been here we he’s been the luckiest flipping England manager ever ever I mean look at the pathways he’s had through all the tournaments 2018 still screwed it up against Croatia you know gets to the final at Wembley you know drops the ball again we missed a penalty against France in the quarterfinal there we go bye-bye he’s just too conservative with a small C he’s a Defender and obviously he was the defender that missed the penalty in 1996 so perhaps that’s should tell us a little bit more about the man himself and his uh mental well-being and his mental state I don’t know not good um John says better to be lucky than good I suppose it is yeah um well I said that afterwards I said that afterwards when it came off I said I’m gonna ask AR Southgate for lottery numbers this week because he’s the luckiest man out is he yeah he is yeah um but then you look at every else of the tournament M I think Germany weren’t weren’t amazing they they got past Denmark but there was some question marks over a few bits in that Denmark game France great pressed Belgium and France that was a terrible Terri one of the worst games of the toour that was a terrible game um Spain are the only one that have looked like doing anything but they’ve only played Georgia in the last 16 that’s not that’s not a a competitive game essentially so nobody’s really pulling up any trees at all I know we we’re we are stinking the tournament out but nobody else is being particularly good are they um I you said we’re stinking it out yeah we are in terms of performance that through well we’re looking at that through England color glasses aren’t we and you know we if if if it’s if that’s another team you know if that’s Denmark or if that’s Austria or Slovenia orever you know probably some of those teams have played a similar sort of style of football to us you know they’ve managed to get through and they’ll see that as a success it’s only us being up there as favorites he’s kind of clouding that to a degree I’m not trying to put I’m not trying to polish the turd here because you know the the the the performances have just not been up to scratch by any stretch imagination um but I I it’s just about inten in it as far as England are concerned it’s just about the lack of intent throughout the game U until we get to the kind of last 10 15 minutes and then we start to panic um well it may change it may but he’s got to change it he’s got to change it Annie you know because Switzerland they knocked Italy out didn’t they Switzerland yeah two nil um Italy played exactly the way that we’ve played exactly the way you know if if there’s a competition for worst performance of the S of the tournament it’s going to be between us and Italy at the moment you know worst 90 minute performance yeah and that that performance by Italy against Switzerland was just it was so bad it was so so bad but there there were Echoes a lot of Echoes of the way that England are playing if you approach the game against against Switzerland like that then we’re out they’ll they will take us apart um if we attack them then it’ll be a different story so I can’t see it’s going to be it’s going to be the former rather than a latter he ain’t going to attack him I wouldn’t have thought because that’s just not the way South Gate approaches games but maybe we’ll Bumble through I don’t know I doubt it very much doubt it very much yeah um Phil says truth be told quite a few teams look jaded this tour yeah they do yeah there is there is a lot of that um in the comments well Twitter as well um it’s not been great overall you know no there’s been no real sort of really good games usually by this stage of tournament you can look back and think well that game that game was absolutely fantastic yeah whatever you know and and there haven’t been any there’s been a few highlights aren’t they you know within the tournament that I’m sure we can come on to but um but no really good games no I agree um so the r we’ll come on in a bit we might as well finish off the England stuff before we talk about you know the really important stuff for United Danny but the rumored line up for sun for Saturday’s game has kind of been released and international camps are leaky than a leaky thing so this is probably spawned to be fair it’s not like Rod United and things like with Leakes tend to be a bit more hit and miss uh the rumored start is who are three at the back but I like this if if this is TR I’ll be quite positive about this you got Stones Walker and conza coming in cono will come in for G but that’s a back three of those three sakur is left wing back alexand Arnold is a right wing back rice and Manu are just kind of traditional two cent midfielders foden and Bellingham both in a 10 so 210 and then Kane up top that takes many boxers that we’ve been asking for it gives extra for me it giv extra good defense which is fine always fine in his rightful position Bellingham maybe even with a little bit more freedom as well it gets Alexander Arnold in so you’ve got that extra bit of quality in the final third but soon we get there that that kind of maybe what that might what we should have started with it first place yeah I mean I don’t I don’t really think it’s a proper case of foden and Burlingham being having like two number 10 I think it just gives each player their own roaming um capability you know because foden likes to be in that position but um wand off to the left hand side so that’ll make a nice overlap with sacka if he’s left wing back um and then Bellingham will sort of honk it down more on the edge of the 18 Yard Box um which is I genuinely think it’ be two tens I think it be two free roaming tens you think it’ll be as narrow as that though when I say 10 I mean I mean just raming those two wherever they want you know like Fen does for Man City he just kind of Raman as a modern day 10 maybe yeah yeah yeah yeah I’ll agree with you that with that one but um yeah the interesting thing for me is that I believe Switzerland have done a um um a 343 formation for the majority of the tournament and if we’re setting up like that it sort of counteracts it quite well um because if we were going to set up with just the standard four at the back it they would cause US problems but um with how it sounds we’re going to set up which is almost like it’s not quite a five at the back is it is more like a three and then five one with defending won’t yeah yeah yeah be a five defending which will um counteract them nicely but at the same time if you’ve got Kane Burlingham and folden as well as um Saker in the um in the wing back position attack him further forward as well it will cause Switzerland hopefully some problems in their own backyard as well um so yeah I’ve seen the league lineup as well and I’m quite happy with that however will Southgate actually go with it or will he try and put Square pegs in round hes and keep it as a four at the back to a fair Joy when Southgate first took over that run to the world the World Cup was a three at the back or five whatever you want to call it so it’s not kind of alien to G Southgate it’s not alien to these players um and like it does seem to resolve a few problems which we which well on paper it seems to resolve a few issues anyway I’m I’m surprised he’s not done it before now gone to a back three I mean after the first game even in the Serbian game could have done that I mean Tripp has cropped oh how unfortunate that is probably a blessing in disguise and and here we are we’re going to a back three and I’m quite happy with that I don’t have a problem with that at all and I agree I think we function better with that fluidity between the three and the five you know with the wing backs and that’s what you know I mean Saka started off as Wing back didn’t he so yeah or I imagining it and I mean Alexander Arnold that’s the role he has in Liverpool setup so why not yeah um it’s a shame that there’s no room for Palmer and Gordon isn’t it though I mean I would have liked to see a little bit more of them because I think they’ve got a little bit more flare and creativity as well but hopefully we may see them at some point in the game and I mean I personally think the that point about them being people being jaded I think bellingham’s half empty yeah it looks absolutely shattered to me Bing yeah age so maybe you know we might see more subs but it’s G Southgate so I don’t H if that is true mck that’s that makes it for me a big game for ferden because if this doesn’t work for Fon now what system are you ever going to find a way because Bellingham starts whatever what bellingham’s a better player than fodra I mean we’re talking Elite level better bellingham’s a better player if this doesn’t work now for foden what do you do with Phil foden because this is this is kind of it really for him for me well he’s incredibly effective for Man City and so if there’s a if there’s the option to play him the way way he plays at Man City that’s what you do and you don’t just boot him out after one game playing in a position that you know that he’s he’s he’s used to playing in he’s been like I said in the in the last podcast he he’s he’s spent his time hugging the touch line that’s not that’s not he’s no good out there you know he’s he’s as good out there as Al Kane is at Center back and they’re both spending as much time in those positions as they are in the positions that he should be do you know what I mean yeah um so we’ll have to wait and see it sounds to me that sort of formation a bit too attacking for Gareth if I’m honest and I said that slightly tongue in cheek but it is a very attacking lineup and I I just not convinced man he’s got well he’s got two choices on he either does it or goes out so yeah you know I think he’s the bottom line he either he either goes out and attacks Switzerland or they will beat us so I don’t know um but as far as as far as foran’s concerned you’re playing where he should be played you know this is the national squad you you cannot tell me that we not got enough players to choose from to play in their own position you know we’re playing Alexander Arnold in Midfield is I mean yeah you know my view on him I won’t play Him Anyway full stop um but but yeah um Square pegs and square hes or round pegs and round HS whatever you want to call it yeah you know that’s what this seems to be only you’re play position sack but like Jo mentioned ago if he has played Wing back it’s slightly out of position because he was playing right wing but I don’t think it’s I don’t think it’s going to be alien it’s like it’s like CH playing right wing back it’s not ideal it’s not perfect but it’s not necessarily that bad a thing I don’t think um but we’ll see Mick before we move on to anything else I just want to give you a moment to laugh at Ronaldo um I were hoping you were GNA do moment of the tournament because that was just it’s a tossup for me moment for my moment of the tournament whether it was Ronaldo missing the penalty or him crying afterwards I can’t work out which one I enjoyed the most I think I think I think it’s missing the penalty I think I enjoyed that the most had they gone on to concede when Pepe slipped over that would that would have been the cherry on the top of the icing on top of the cake was it um but yeah I mean that was sweet it was so sweet to see him miss that um the the commentary on BBC was probably as bad a set of commentary as I had I’ve ever heard on any football match it was absolutely awful um but yeah that that was beautiful it was absolutely beautiful and for a moment I thought they were going out and it just honestly can’t tell you how cheered up it me how cheery it made me yeah I don’t mean that commentary but I did appreciate after the game when buy did the analysis and when he missed when he missed the penalty the little caption on the bottom was myano penaldo which was that needs a raise because they’re not getting enough whatever they’re getting paid that was cl whoever put that out fair play to him but hly Ser not in terms of potential opponents Danny because on the other side of draw it’ be a final we played him if we had to play at Portugal team i’ be quite happy with that because they are dysfunctional as anything because of that bloke up top the team doesn’t work kind of is a blockage in terms of everything there’s no flow because they’ve got to get Ronaldo in the picture and as an opposition I’d be buzzing about playing team like that yeah Ronaldo’s now playing for Portugal how he played during his second stint at man united it’s it’s just the HM show um and I suppose if he’d actually been smarter and picked the actual good team in Saudi Arabia it would be the him show for that team as well but good team in Saudi Arabia well he he somehow picked to the second best team in Saudi Arabia I don’t know how he’s done it but but anyway um but yeah the parallels between that and his second stin at man united he just tries to win everything and take everything he takes fre kicks from far too far out if he was the same age as me he might be scoring those as he was at man united in his first stint but now he’s unfortunately he’s is one of the fittest um how old is he 38 39 39 he’s one of the fittest 39 year old I’ve ever seen however he’s not 25 anymore you know he needs to adapt his game I mean Harry Kane is adapting his game now that he’s turned 30 and he’s a different sort of striker in terms of he does drop back a little bit he’s not making as many runs but that’s how it I know Mick’s laughing but that is how Kane plays now he Dro he’s developing his game he’s turning into a Defender yeah exactly exactly he’s going he’s doing the reverse of Richard Wood Richard Wood wanted to be stuck up top towards at end of his ROM career but um but now with Ronaldo he will be the downfall of Portugal at this tournament he’s already has his time in the sun winning them the oros in 2016 but now it’s he’s holding the team back you know and um if they had if they had the same manager as man united did which who was it when Ronaldo was there was it tag yeah if tag had anything to say he’d dropped Ronaldo straight away because he’s holding up the team and if Ronaldo puts on the same sort of show against France as he did against Slovakia Slovenia then Portugal are in trouble and they’ll go out in the quarterfinal because as bad as France has been they’ll find the way through it M this is the France team that has scored one goal by a member of their team and it was a penalty the rest have been own goals yeah I think the own goals is the highest scorer at this tournament as well 10 yeah so is if the team that scores the most like well receives the most own goals do they get the Golden Boot by default they should do yeah just like France get a wooden spoon most wins my own goals yeah it makes you wonder though about what the managements liking that Portuguese Tim and you could argue the same for England whereby Martinez doesn’t seem to have the guts to drop him you know or I know he’s a figurehead and one of the best players in the world um but he’s 39 as we’ve said why can’t somebody just have a word in his showell like say hey Chris you know do us a favor you become a super sub or something you know yeah it’s funny that Danny said Danny used the phrase playing for playing for Portugal and he’s not playing for Portugal no interest in playing for Portugal he’s playing for Ronaldo that’s what he’s playing for yeah he expects I would say wants he expects everybody else to play for him as well and it’s just arrogance beyond beyond anything that could be classed as reasonable really and he’s a cheat obviously well that that sort of but let’s not get that yeah great bra great see Mr penalty fingers crossed when he when they play France he’ll be weeping again um he’ll certainly be throwing himself on the floor in that game that he just going to be a die Fest that a it looking head if you’re an England fan saying that we can get we might get to the final you want Portugal to get through so well you do you do but what we need for that France Portugal game is what we need just to tap to top it off we need Ste at while on V oh my word it’s just going to be get the popcorn out get the be out because that is going to be fun well the English referees have been appointed to two of the two of the games in the quarterfinals let me see if we can find out we got uh no not it’s not Stuart Atwell I’m afraid oh it’s a shame that would been beautiful I assume I assume it’s a Polish set of assistant vs um on the I want about England playing Portugal be happy Johnson bz buzzing are you mad we can’t be an average team let alone the team that contains the players that Portugal have but Michael Carell says that he would fancy England player one-onone with Pepe as well because he’s passed it as well another oh God yeah goes against them as well Tom K says em find it weird that Martinez sng the Portuguese national anthem despite the fact that he’s Spanish I noticed this and I also noticed that Hungary the Hungarian manager sang the national anthem as well I think he’s Italian uh I wonder if this is a new thing coming through where you get sing na anthy You’re not from the country don’t well well technically Pepe shouldn’t sing the Portuguese national anthem because he were born in Brazil correct imagine that he was in Portugal over Brazil mind won’t get into Brazil team would they probably not they speak Portuguese in Brazil don’t they they do speak Portuguese yeah the Brazilian nation is better as well if you choose Nation you go Brazilian one every day week um but that’s where we are um any other Euro stuff we need to take off I think we’ve done a pretty good dep thing have we left at Italy yet we left I can’t remember whe whether that were before we the last last of the podcast but it’s always nice to laugh at Italy losing going out early yes not like the Italians to fold out early is it no it would nice to get revenge from wouldn’t it to be fair they didn’t even get to the World Cup did they last time no exactly no having rubbish suits with giant italan letters on back it that go are you man I’m not going go no because you Italian not last Euros the always suits look really nicely tailed and they were beautiful they were typically Italian and then this time it’s just looks ridiculous it’s a joke um anyway it yeah it is um let’s move on to R United the big news that’s come out today Mick is the contract H closers have expired for cam we now know the players it’s cam hum and Jordan hugle are the two players that I’m not sure if they were free to go but they certainly would have gone for not much I think if had they activated their closes um that’s pretty big news to be honest with you m what are your general thoughts maybe one more than the other yeah yeah obviously you know my C and the fact that he’s he’s uh I going to say elected to stay um you know there there’s a release PA in his contract by the sounds of it for according to Paul Davis that would have allowed him to go um on relegation and he’s that that release course has not not been activated that’s obviously not to say that they won’t go yeah uh but as as um as Evans has said today it’ll be on our terms rather than rather than anything else which from from a r United point of view is is fantastic um so so yeah I can’t I can’t tell you I pleased am that cam is hopefully will be done in a other United [ __ ] on 10th of August fingers crossed John hugall well we’ll have to wait and see on that I mean he’s yeah I don’t know whether he’s played at League one level before to be honest with you um but again he’s not age so um you know it’s his I suppose he’s going to struggle to get another club now given his age and his performances last season as well um I’ve hardly put put him in the shot window so you know maybe maybe it’ll be um it’ll be a decent level for him to uh to BU a few goals we’ll have to wait and see but it is good news it is good news because like I said ultimately if they do leave um it’ll be on our terms not somebody else’s uh yeah absolutely Jordan hugle has played in League one um but it doesn’t look like for quite some time it was in 2014 for Preston uh sorry 2013 for for Port Vale sorry and then a few games for Preston as well um so that was obviously a long long time ago um the thing is with Jordan hugle joy that it strikes me as if he’s if you can get him going if you can get Jordan hug on the right path and get him motivated he will be brilliant for you and I just feel like maybe Matt Taylor was never able and and leay Richardson were never really able to get the best out of Jordan hug that can’t be the best of Jordan hugall but Steve Evans sometimes can get the best out of players not always but sometimes get the best out of players so if he can work magic with hugle you’ll have one we’ll have one of the most effective Strikers in the league one next year I agree and let’s be brutely honest our previous two incumbents were a little bit lackluster weren’t they they didn’t seem the passionate individuals did they where Mr Evans is you know he wears his art on his sleeve you know exactly what he’s thinking you know exactly what’s going on there’s no no hid in your emotions with Mr Evans so I should imagine that I would imagine actually hugle strikes me as a sort of guy that would react better that to that sort of manager than a you know than a softer approach because I think he’d be that sort of guy himself I might be totally wrong but it I think the way that he plays would intimate to me is like that a little bit more and perhaps he will respond to you know the hair dryer treatment and and the you know the Steve Evans approach I think I I think it it might turn out being a revelation I think in League one if he gets the time on the pitch to be honest we’ll have to wait and see a Wither his Withers and be whether he gets the time on the pitch because I know Tom is really looking forward isn’t it to playing under Evans again so there you go I think crucially what will happen with with this coming season we can absolutely 100% guarantee it will happen that has not happened for the last season and a bit is there’ll be balls going into box absolutely yeah and that that the reason that hugle is not scored any goals is because there’s been no chances for him to take virtually um so there’ll certainly be chances created there’s no doubt about that um so yeah we have hopefully hopefully he rediscovers some form yeah and there’s also if the Press comes back Danny that again when the the first half of the Season hug was there there was a press from Jordan H when the team pressed then when the next season came around the Press kind of got dysfunctional disorganized and then obviously it didn’t work for anybody but for me Hogle is a guy that can press he’s not Ling him quick but he can cause make himself a nuisance and again if you use him in the right way he can I’m I’m convinced he’ll score loads goal this season if he’s used properly and for me he is a Steve Evans kind of player I think um hugle having a press about him sort of links into what we were saying about the um the motivation side of it you know if you’re not motivated to play for a manager due to whatever circumstance it is on the training ground or in the dressing room then you are going to be a bit half fast with stuff but we saw it early on from hugle like you say when he was motivated to play Under Matt Taylor but now that that sort of went down hill and now Steve Evans is coming like you said we might see that again you know get um Evans strikes me as a sort of person that will get hugle fired up um and of course B into the box that’ll help his game as well um I don’t think he’ll grab loads of goals per se because I think a few players will be fighting it out getting you know 10 plus goals this season um and for me personally you don’t win a league by having one out out there goal scorer you do it as a team effort and if you’ve got hugle uh EES Clark Harris on the midfielders all chipping in we load to goals which we’ll have to wait and see what happens early doors at the park gate game and in the last game of the pre-season as to what EV system will be um if you’ve got a few players chipping in then that’s more than happy as well but hugle definitely get more goals this season than last season that is for sure because he’s got the perfect hair dryer man motivator in Steve Evans um but Lord knows what he said to both of them to keep him to stay in League one for a season I’d love to know what what dialogue that was because from what he’s told the advertiser they came to him about staying but I wonder if he said something to them first and then they’ve gone yeah we’ll stay for that Old Trapper Evans telling you the truth though don’t that’s what you’re doing um yeah I’m I’m slow learning pinch of salt over which shoulder is it you take a pinch of sh over is it your left shoulder both for yeah just get the salt shakeer and just Chuck it over your over your yeah um yeah Michael say deep down on paper he says that we’ve got the best strikers in League one hugle Eve n Johnson Clark Harris and Andre greeni and Kell Kell buub says K Evans sorry EES n hugle and Clark Harris some some teams would kill for those four can they do the business is the question on what you look at on all those players individually they n is potentially a 20 goal strike season hugle is maybe not 20 but he’ll get you get it’ll get you 10 to 15 plus hugle will probably get you the assists and then Clark Harris is Clark Harris will get 30 in a normal season even even maybe not so much but that is a hell of a front four to pick for man r rotate off front five count Andre green there’s so much rotation and options within that that’s quite exciting yeah I’m not getting excited I’ve determined this is going to be my 60th year Watching R United and have decided that come August I am not I am not going to be excited in August because we all do it don’t we whatever it is 10th of August it is this year first game of season whatever it is fifth sixth whatever date it is at 3:00 we’re all as excited and gidas can be and by 5:00 we’re all fed up and that usually lasts if you’re a ren fan nine times out of 10 that usually lasts through to October November and you might get a bit of a lift again so um look it’s a yes I agree potentially potentially there’s that that there’s a lot of goals there a lot of goals potentially um and and Andre green as as as has been mentioned should not be playing at League one level you know he’s he’s he is a a quality player so yeah there is but but you know there are other teams that are going to be doing business um and John’s in the comments Birmingham will be right up there with the quality of Strikers that they’ve got there’s no doubt or goal creators because obviously there those you know they’ve got to be fed these Strikers so um there’ll be others as as well clearly uh but yeah it’s a great start it’s a fantastic start but let’s not get Gideon and let’s not get ahead of ourselves you know the thing from a r United point of view is that we’ve we’ve gone up we’ve come down and every time we’ve come down we’ve gone back up again and it’s become now a kind of a cycle aren it and and to the point where we’re now expecting right we’re going to be going back up again because that’s how it works you know it’s it’s going to be a long old season and it’s going to be tough old season we’ve made a really really good start in terms of the quality of Strike Force we’ve got in that Squad there’s a lot more to add to it yet because we’ve got to get in the ball haven’t we we’ve got a stuck the opposition scoring and all so um in and of itself as a set of Strikers yeah it’s exciting but I’ll cave by everything else I just said yeah some points out they got 12 goals between them last season in a rubbish Championship theme is what is what I always say um yeah they never got fed there were no I don’t think we put 12 crosses into box All Season didn’t we sure we didn’t probably not um so yeah we’ll see I think Evans expects there to be joining us for the Scotland trip that one um Joy the a away kit has been announced the blue kit with lots of fancy designs on it um got to me I’m I’m quite a big fan of that what are your thoughts well I quite like it to be honest um it’s a bit different I mean a lot of people say we don’t play blue but we do we play Blue quite often as an awake it yeah um so I don’t get where that’s coming from but I quite like it it’s it’s a little bit different um I think it m it I think it goes with a sponsor as well to be brutally honest Blue Bell wood I don’t know if anybody thought that through but you know is it yes yes maybe by actually prefer the away kit to the home kit I’m 100% with you on that one 100% yeah I I disagree with that right so so it’s not a transvers right sound even happier um but no with with the awake it like Joy says it’s some different but it’s also um sort of what um teams are doing with awake it now like sort of a fancy design but we as it’s it’s subtle enough where it’s not too loud but it’s not overly subtle where it just turns into a pling kit so it’s it’s a nice medium between the two uh and like I said with the um the whole playing in blue thing we’ve had blue on a away kits quite often recently like the main example being the blue and black stripes one we’ve had twice over the last 20 years or so um there was the lighter blue kit from 2010 was it the charot one 2010 there one in 2017 yeah um there was the one in 2001 which was a quite a light blue one as well yeah I’ve had loads and loads of blue kits yeah I think this one design wise is the most out there but it works it’s quite clean with the contrasting tones of blue but then with like you say Jo with the white sponsor it really stands out um and we’ve sort of gone for the um the gradient badge rather than the bright red badge um I’m not too sure which one would work best to be fair would you have the contrasting Red Badge or would you have the the the gradient badge but for me the design is beautiful um and I wonder if the third kit will be somewhat similar but different colors or another completely different is design Al together we have to wait and see on that one yeah the concern is that Ian Bradley pointed this out on Twitter that potentially it looks like not a sewn in badge it looks like potentially print on yeah I mean the um the blackout season was a pressed on badge one yeah yeah um I don’t like that I should should I don’t might just been me but I don’t like that it should be Sona um but there we go Paul RH says looks good on Joe pal they’ve thought about that one they they really going to be so much of it now that people are not going to be watching it this as you say who who apart from a r hfield fan wants to watch ram versus osfield and and the vast majority of RAM and osfield supporters will be at the match you know they’ll not be watching it on tell it it’s just the odd few that are that that are sort of away from away from the area so but there there’s going to be so much of it it’s just not going to be it’s just going to take it like you said dilute it completely and and it’ll die eventually on that day there are eight efl games at halfast 12 four in the championship two in League one three in League two and bar one of those is Blackburn against Burnley which is a huge Derby yeah and even in League two you you’ve moved Gillingham against Chesterfield to a half 12 kickoff why you why have you done that I mean um and why that game in particular when it’s like 200 miles between Gillingham and Chesterfield it’s mad but then but then there’s no evening games at all there’s no 530 games at all on those days I I don’t for the fans it’s for the fans yeah yeah look yeah say can’t demand can’t demand more TV money as efl clubs and not be on tell yeah you’re absolutely right if the fans were doing that obviously not John’s not saying this but we’re not bothered it whether tell or not particularly we we like games at an ideal time um efl care though sadly um this Fe next point though D the crew game has been confirmed for the Tuesday after the first game of the season this feeds into the sky thing though because it’s on telly it’s on Sky Sports Plus so if you’ve got Sky your Sky Sports subscription all carab Cup games are part of it the the prices are exactly the same the fact the price have increased from last year which is understand all the prices are going to increase in the current climate but who was going to pay the 14 quid to go watch that game now I think last I’m I’ll check him in I bet the moram game had like 3,000 people there last year there’s G be less than this year because it’s on telly yeah exactly um it’s going to be interesting to see if clubs start reducing prices certainly in future Seasons because um by by the looks of things they’ve just sort of helped that people still want to go and watch it live but you know like I say if people have got Sky Sports or just say I’ve just got him from work on a Tuesday night I’ll stay at home and watch it you know the only um impetus they have to go and watch it is if say it were a tener tener a ticket you know and maybe that’s what clubs will end up doing in the future to get boms on seats because I don’t know if this deal persists people will just stay at home and watch it because unfortunately it is cheaper as a whole to have a Sky Sports subscription and watch your Club on there now that they have the option to watch more or less all the games on the sky or at least the vast majority than it is to go to football every week you know even with other tickets being 27 28 quids it still works out cheaper and so they’re at risk of people deciding to be on the CER rather than on the plastic seats of a stadium I mean isn’t this going to affect some clubs who are marginal in terms of their turnover dramatically yeah you know I mean we’ll probably be all right fingers crossed but you know you’ve got to open the ground you’ve got to Steward it you’ve got to get all the bodies there you’ve got to pay the Lecky you got you know there’s cost cost cost involved you got nobody coming over the threshold I mean I don’t know what this package is and now it’s being divvied up by Sky BYL but there’s some clubs that them go to the wall here aren’t they the smaller ones I would I can’t I can’t understand the um accountability for the finances behind it it’s gonna end up being like a covid season permanently isin it with no fans just grounds open Telly there and like you know like permanent covid yeah it still doesn’t seem to make sense does it no um like I mentioned for the mor game last year the attendance in the League Cup was 2,834 that was our lowest attendance That season as well T yeah and and crew are basically a similar team there maybe got a few more fans than crew but not many more fans than crew crew on a Tuesday night they put something on the bring so that you’re going to I keep your eyes on attendance for that one um I don’t expect to much more than 2,000 if if it is um there we are there we are there we are H Paul Ro says the first Seas season diit has gone out for her so assume the match ticket will be everybody happy with the diit so far I’m not using it so no not really gone up so my my my season ticket I pay for two Adon Juniors it’s been rounded up to a nice round 70 quid rather than the 68 quid that it should be or whatever a month um so 7,000 tickets sold 5 a person for your admin fee so that’s 35 Grand G to Ticket Master so far um and all they’ve produced as far as I’m aware um is some direct debit mandates so they can take people take the people’s money I don’t think anybody’s seen a season ticket I’ll be if I if I if I’m wrong please correct me um I’ve still now now having paid me first 68 quid installment for two season tickets still not had any indication that they were even going to take it no contract whatsoever nothing whatsoever that I’ve even signed up for a season ticket um so yeah 78 quid I’m just told text from my wife to say 78 quid not 68 quid because your two FS on this month two5 yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah so I don’t know I don’t know I don’t know what the I don’t know what the situation is but it it just I’m worri I’m worried I’m worried that come the start of the Season we’re still going to be having the same conversation with my ticket um yeah but let’s wait and see yeah not yet John have concession enough blessing um yeah it is what it is is it um yeah preseason started we saw the pictures um from Sheffield Hallam site at the campus at near brinsworth um round doesn’t appear to be ready yet from what from what it appears um Steve Evans said said the fans for that round round would look magnificent um not magnificent enough because it’s not been used yet as far as far as the videos tell us um but that’s you know where there you go there you go anything add on that anybody we’ll have to have a good nosy at the state of
