stage one of this year’s tour to France and it was a very tough stage on the menu many people saying this is the toughest stage they’ve ever seen put forward for the opening day of the tour and it was always going to be a struggle for the sprinters so Mark Cavendish he knew he was going to be up against it it wasn’t going to be a Sprint finish today was not the day for number 35 it was a day of survival and getting through and at the start of the day it was all smiles greeting the fans posing for photos but then pretty quickly when the flag dropped and the road went up Mark Cavendish got in serious trouble he looked really uncomfortable on this climb he was actually unable to even hold any water down which then sparked concerns of any sort of illness but he was well supported by teammates they had four teammates from aana a Kazakhstan team Dro back for Mark Cavendish and at this point the calculations would have started for the day’s time cut the time cut each day is dependent on the average speed of the winner and you a percentage of that winner’s time so if we judge that today was going to be about a 40K hour average uh speed it was going to be a nearly 50-minute time cut it wasn’t just Mark Cavendish who was struggling other sprinters like Fabio yakobson also dropped on this tough stage and at one point yakobson was not only caught but passed by Mark Cavendish and his teammates they then banded together rode their way through towards the Finish always knowing they were on track to get there inside the time cut and in the end Mark Cavendish a little thumbs up a lot of appreciation for his team who rode some 160 kilm in front of him just guiding him through to the Finish Line they would arrive 39 minutes down 10 minutes up their sleeve he’ll live to fight another day and the strive for 35 survives [Music]

    1. My takeaway from the virtual shop in this video: rear cassettes are larger than seats in Europe. I thought we lived big in the USA, apparently not.

    2. He does it For the better storytelling when He wins His 35 Stage, mark my words. Netflix needs a cliffhanger for the next year Doku! 😂

    3. Cavencrash is the Arjen Robben of professional cycling.

He should have retired long ago instead of relying on stacked competition and the pity of real cyclists to gift him wins for a hollow victory. Deep down he'll always know they are as good a result as Armstrong's TDF wins.
