Hi everyone and welcome to the third day of our cruise, a sea day!! Today we have an incredible day wandering the streets of la Rochelle on our #royalcaribbeancruisevlog!
We had a relaxing start to the morning with a lovely breakfast in 270 café before catching the shuttle bus into town.
We walked around town for a bit before heading into the aquarium. It was massive and we had a great time looking around before we grabbed some lunch at a quayside café, I love those savoury gallettes! We then had another walk around town with a bit of shopping, bubble tea and a sweet crepe before heading back to the ship.
Once onboard we chilled in the solarium and went on the flow rider before getting ready for dinner, where tonight we tried out Johnny rockets. The burgers here are brilliant and Kate loved her chicken tenders!
We went around the ship to a few different bars in the evening and watched a bit of We Will Rock You before heading off to bed. All in all a brilliant day! Join us for the next video where we head into Bilbao!

a [Music] [Music] so in 270 they have some really cool chairs started around that you can use there another one over there but it’s not easy to get into it gracefully so you just kind of have to especially with the drink L Shuff made it but it is a lovely view engine’s giging out a lot of power slowing us down good morning everyone and welcome to day three lar shell um larell is uh on the West Coast France in the Bay of bis oh I’m really backp but when you dock it’s at quite an industrial Port as you can see so if you watch yesterday’s um episode Vlog um we had to queue up and grab some tickets if we wanted to get off before 12 so we’ve got 10:00 tickets because there’s a complimentary shuttle bus Bush bus sound like Sean connory complimentary shuttle bus that will take us into larell town from right outside the ship so we’ll let know where that drops off they said it takes about 20 minutes or so but first breakfast also took a bit of wander around this morning and you can see like Sunrise is very pretty um but it is a little bit gray today they said it was going to be about 15 16° sunny cloudy oh sun’s trying to poke out but there is a chance of drizzle so we’ll see plans today take a wand around town maybe go to the aquarium which is like one of the best aquariums in Europe so see if we go there we’ll show you what it’s like right so after breakfast we go we’re going to try 270 Cafe for breakfast this morning but first coffee oo coffee down oo these look thiry chili Kong Cary burrito Royle muffin oh decisions uh do your own Bagels uh may I have chive cream cheese please and uh smoked salmon please yeah thank you then maybe some onion as well please I would say like the painful crossant look incredible oh my God look at that panel chocolate that blue D they’re enormous I don’t want to pick chili up fingers okay’s going the wrong way I know that the door is there the door is always back on it it’s like a little bit around the corner isn’t he we’re just debating the hardships of navigating the correct direction on the ship anyway um breakfast in 270 was lovely like it was quite light sorry I fell down the stairs anyway so breakfast in 270 was really nice it was really light nice and quiet wasn’t a lot of people in there so um yeah definitely recommend it as a quieter breakfast if you want one we’re now just waiting for our tickets for tickets at 10:00 to get off the ship and it’s currently about4 2 so we’re just going to sit and relax and then um head off the ship into larell where we sitting we off we get like there was no queue we got straight off about 10 minutes early on our slot and now we’re just going to go catch the bus one thing though the steps slope off the boat has a lot of bumps on it it’s not easy with a push chair to get your wheels either side of it and uh get it down so might have more accessible on so maybe just Jack oh it’s windy out here for you Gary SE fans salty hi everyone future Ben here I just the most interesting of us Journeys just through some suburbs but we’re in town now it’s a very it’s a lovely oh old looking town there was some history about it but I didn’t quite get it so we’re just going to take a one through town to the aquarium take about 15 minutes also according to google but we should see we found a castle very cool so the other thing we started collecting are these kind of like uh older style art postcards and things I just get one oh [Music] there we go so we’ had a very nice wander through the city it’s a really beautiful city actually never been here before so it’s quite nice to WAND through they got like a little observation wheel which we might try later on we’ll see and then we were almost at the aquarium but the um we saw the towers as we wanded through as well by the harbor it’s uh really nice and it’s not too hot today which is also a Bon so one thing to note is that cycle BFFs are not very well delineated they just have these um you know bits of paint and slightly different color brick around the edge um but I’ve nearly been running for a number of times uh so just keep your wits about you but we found the aquarium hot tub balconies I want to stay here I bet they’re a bargain for the low low price of your soul chilling with the jellies so the map to the aquarium is awesome it’s a fish and you fold it open and you got like all the living bits which is very neat H here we are we are entering here and then we wait for the doors so was € 18 per person for the entry so might be good value we’ll let you know oh oh oh we’re going down oh it’s moving I was not expecting [Music] that okay oh wow okay we went a long way underwater look at the [Music] jellies uh so well surprising that was very cool and you come out into this awesome tunnel of jellies got [Music] stuck do not poke the fish oh it’s all in English and [Music] French so they got these bits which kind of mimic the uh Shoreline which is quite neat and but it’s very w it’s like a wave pool they seem to be enjoying it though and each of the sides tell you how many liters and what temperature the water is here is Kate’s hand for the scale for the starfish yeah Hench some musly starfish and the little one these fish are cool hypnotic what are [Music] they I’m sorry that’s a [Music] cuttlefish it’s not a very complimentary name for the seaweed though that’s a Wy Wy G Onan gorgonian it’s not very [Music] nice oh it’s is it is it eating the starfish don’t eat the starfish there’s a crab down the back and one of the fish just slapped it in the face oh there’s a couple of grabs oh look they’re all h i quite like them very cute look at it it’s s Kate is not a fan of Hills oh look there’s three two in the pretty we playing a game in this fish tank of animal or Rock I think we did decide or it is a rock oh you are a chunky seahorse it could be a pregnant so it could be a male seahorse then well they changed oh yeah that’s true lots of seahorses I found a rock [Music] toil get inside this one right we’re waiting for the fish to behave like dogs and roll over that’s very cute they got an itch oh look look at that Ray buried I love it when they crash down to do it yeah hello fishies hello bye [Music] fishy the movement of the coule fish always just reminds me of a Hovercraft different types of coral very pretty [Music] colors and that crab just is that a crab or a snil it just fell off yeah is it well it’s like a hermit crab it’s like oh I’m taking a break I am there but you can’t see me so if any of you watched the TV program crazy X girlfriend there’s a guy there that goes to the aqu and he has a little song and it’s I go to the aquarium it’s like a zoo for fishes I’ll try to put a clip in [Music] aquarium all the different types of jellyfish although I feel fat shaming the blue blubber jellyfish is a bit harsh it is really therapeutic watching them though like just spinning around it’s a lot of jellyfish I hope they don’t feel like they’re in a washing [Music] [Music] machine little bits where you can get like in the fish tank [Music] and then we’re going to walk through the fish tank and scare off all the fishes oh no sorry [Music] fishes oh dear sorry fish and now there’s a fish tank above our heads it’s a Nemo Dan where Nemo it’s got P oh yeah it’s got the others and there there’s an an enemy Nemo could be hiding in there [Music] maybe a tiny pu of fish or is it I don’t know so the only problem with the open fish tank bits of the aquarium is it smells like fish this little swordfish dude keeps sticking his uh face up that way you going to do it again there he is oh hi puffer fish it’s a big eye you have it’s a I can’t catch up with it it’s a speedy [Music] fish oh sorry sorry do you want to take notice of you clown fish this blue one zipping about the place we were saying uh that one is Bubbles guy from Nemo yellow saale fin Tang where are you this guy n and Dory the black and white one so cool maybe he’s teenage one he’s in his goth phase yeah Nemo goth Nemo fish my they’ve also got the enemies like uh like in Nemo they’re proper robbing themselves as oh there’s a comish all the way through at the enemy did I get it no I missed it go back in [Music] cute these are uh very deadly fish lion fish I like they give you the a fold at the aquarium 23° 9 and 1/2 M I like it 17 cm thick nice and thick glass and 16 kilog of food twice a week [Music] turt is shy and he wants to stay as far away from the people as possible I don’t blame him he’s beautiful though these are very cool [Music] colors go touch it Kate’s going to eat some Plankton but they’re going to swim away from her hand oh no they’re swimming away from her [Music] [Laughter] darl majestic creatures as we say however the uh board here disagrees that they are majestic creatures where is it it says menace m when he call Zoe you’re actually a turtle you I think Menace means like under threat they’re protected rather than they are a menace I assume but there’s a lot of very cool fish tanks in this aquarium where they like go above your head and then come down in front of you yeah I can’t quite work out where it like kind of Curves away from you can I put my foot there are specific signs that do say Do not step on the curved glass is this a is this a crack is this a crack here so we’re going into the tropics oh and it FS tropical anas trip down a step oh no panas they live in hopefully the Piranhas can’t get us up here though oh oh it’s a suspension bridge let’s see how good the gimbal does with me standing on a suspension bridge so the suspension bridge is good fun out there IM it’s less fun when there are children running all over it but piran look it’s a turtle it is a turtle it does look a little bit nibbly terrains Galore Turtles terapin Florida turtles and as The Lonely Island said never go to saers cuz they’re teaming with piranas I like that this door has a definitive exit so there is a restaurant at the top I believe there are open some hours this is the menu they got a bar menu so there is a gift shop so we must hunt for Christmas ornaments oh jewelry’s got nice bracelets little anchor bracelet on Turtle bracelet very cute key Rings not quite what we’re looking for more jewelry lots and lots OFW big fan of jewelry over here it’s nice to tell you where the earring should go I mean it’s very cute but like it’s like the turtles draing or throwing up the save the turtles Coter is Dowing its way out of a net bless it should we get one of these oh what’s this save the turtles what is it uh soap on a ro is this an ornament glass markers lots of very cool stuff in here very cool stuff no ornaments yet [Music] though toys skateboard deck bracelets and key rings necklaces sorry oh key Rings yeah one of these will work yeah these will pretty good so we sacrifices we make sometimes key rings so we have a winner there were many options actually in the key ring Department uh so but it says Aquarium La shell and it’s got Turtles sharks and seahorses in it and then we can write the year on it but there are quite a few cool ones so I just finished up at larell aquarium that place that was really good fun like really enjoyed it they um have lots of different like areas and it’s you saw it’s really well themed and things have a brazer at the top um we can go for lunch but we weren’t allowed cuz there was only for lunch not for just for drinks but overall Darren what rate would you give it out of five as an aquarium as an aquarium I would give it a four four out of five some feedback we got from Beth was that it’s not got enough big tanks there’s only lots of little tanks but there were a few big tanks as well but it was really good fun lots of stuff there was a a whole school child uh that class in there as well at the same time but it wasn’t too bad no blue whales no blue whales in there all great white sharks so we just walking around the harbor looking for somewhere to stop and eat it’s very pretty [Music] though so we just finished lunch in a little restaurant forgot the name it I try and put it underneath just along the harbor here it was lovely so we had a galletes so like Savory creps buckwhat creps uh with ham and cheese and egg in it and it was really tasty U nice and filling as well in fact cake didn’t finish us it’s absolutely delicious so hang on I’ll find out what it is now and I’ll let you know it is amiral Cafe lagabo 28k simonon H so if you go to the aquarium and fancy something you like to eat like a crep or or a sandwich or a salad you can definitely pop in there on the way back some very impressive street art around here everyone thinks so so these are two of the three defensive towers for the port of larell they’re very cool so you can climb up this one but it’s shut for lunch and it’s about half 1 at the moment um and it doesn’t open again till Quast 2 so we might go up it we might not it’s also € 12 or € so we’ll see we were just saying that we get strong Portsmouth vibes from this you know as Kate said old Naval references similar kind of places [Music] oh [Music] can’t figure out what this restaurant sells but the outside of it is like it’s a uh a ship restaurant Andre very cool it’s a very pretty T pretty pretty town to wander around I do love their cushions as well yeah I know like got fishing lobsters but just wandering around the streets is lovely never been to larelle before this is our first time we definitely wouldn’t want to come back [Music] bubble tea is very tasty and the crap with sugar is about to be eaten no face oh no me nice traditional French crap bless you bless [Music] you so if you’re looking for the bathroom when you are wondering around Shell by the town hall there are two free toilets and they’re very well maintained nice and clean um and there wasn’t much of a c so if you don’t want to pay for a coffee somewhere to go to the loop pop in here and apparently it’s the oldest oldest town hall in France still being used for its original purpose from like the 13th century so it’s very cool oh wow it looks amazing inside it’s got like renovated counil Chambers and projection mapping reopening events like it’s at Disney we just popped into this shop to grabb a t-shirt I’ll um try and put in a photo of it now but the staff the lady that work there was super friendly bless her she didn’t speak very good English and we don’t speak very good french but she was exceedingly friendly and tried to we managed to communicate in the middle there’s this very cool two-story Carousel which is right where the bus drops us off makes it much easier to find the bus K makes a very good point actually there was another two-story Carousel down by the Waterfront then that is not where the bus drops you off and picks you up so it actually makes it harder You’ think two deer carousels would be fairly uh fairly rare they’re not in lar shell so as you can see there’s a little bit of a queue waiting for the buses on the way back but it really didn’t take long to get through probably about 10 minutes or so there was a constant stream of buses there and it was really easy [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] H I know got back to the room today and there was some little snacks compliments of the chef and got some little strawberries brownies and stuff like that by the way that singing you heard of Electric Avenue in the background was Kate’s lovely one or you can’t see me there you go now you can see me sorry about that so back on board the boat ship now um the bus ride back was a bit easier than the bus ride in I think there was less traffic we’re on so yeah we’re back on board getting on board was easy they did check our IDs as well as the little Cruise card so something to note when they tell you to take IDs to get off the ship pay attention otherwise they might not let you back on very easily so yeah back on board now we’re just going to chill out we’re quite tired from the walk around really enjoyed Lara shell I was thinking about it and I’d say it’s like a slightly better marsill is how I would view it personally because you’re in Port like well you get the shuttle bus into Port whereas Mar they don’t put a shuttle bus on into town um and it’s just really pretty really enjoyed it so yeah would come back again um but now we’re just going to relax on board the boat for a bit probably go a hot tub maybe some Boogie boarding and then so out some plans for later on don’t know what we’re doing yet it’s sailway time watching Encanto you stop there you might not be able to make that so we’re just leaving P look where’s it g there that is the B Ferris world that’s in town that’s how far away the cruise port is from town well good evening it’s it’s later I think it’s about4 to 8 now we had a lovely relaxing afternoon on the boat we chilled up in the salarium jumped in the hot tubs went on the bridge wings for a bit had a wander around um we sorry we did stand up surfing yes I did do that I put some videos in of me falling over quite a lot but it was fun still I don’t know if I’m getting better but I’m enjoying it still so that’s the important bit um up in this don’t worry about getting seats like we’ve been up there on C day um and like at the end of the port day when there’s quite a few people up there we’ve always managed to get a seat um you might have to scout around a little bit but there’s always spaces in the hot tubs and uh you can as I say you can always find a lounger or something somewhere you might have to wait a minute or two but the space always opens up so the hot tubs up there are huge there’s effectively four of them and they can each fit about 8 to 10 people in probably 10 at a squeeze but definitely so plenty of room we’re now going to go for to Johnny Rockets for dinner uh up on the pool deck it shuts in like 45 minutes so we got plenty of time and then we’re going to try and catch a little bit of We Will Rock uh just to we’ve seen it before it’s great show just to see a bit of the singing that’s it for now this is Johnny Rockets it’s like going to be a private restaurant that’s good I like that it’s breezing here it’ll be it’ll be cooler in there look watch not cooler less windy [Music] T it’s really confusing it’s flipped it around so it says C’s but it shouldn’t say C’s cuz that’s backwards so this time the writing should be the correct way around but my face is the wrong way around technically I mean this is going to be really super simple for some people we are having our minds blown by flipping videos like make the letters the correct way around or the wrong way around it’s just oh there’s a bit of movement it’s nice so Johnny Rockets is uh well I think they have a couple of options I think you can buy alart but there’s a cover charge of $15 and for that you get one Andre you get one side and one soda now normally they have root beer as a soda but they don’t normally have it on the European cruises they just can’t get it in unfortunately so they not allow to sell or they’re not actually that’s a really good point or it’s so bad for you that they’re not allowed to sell it the uh Entre you get like a regular burger a Smokehouse which is like a barbecue kind of burger with onion rings and bacon uh spicy jalapeno burger or chicken tenders which Cake’s gone for I’ve gone for the smok house there’s also a hot dog as well you also get to pick one on the sides which is chips fries cheese fries bacon cheese fries and onion rings let you know how it goes oh yeah you get to pick out of those so here we go we got the onion rings and The Smokehouse Burger looking good good then we got Kate’s fries and chicken tenders with honey mustard so everything’s cooked fresh so it takes a little bit longer but it’s all freshly made it’s very bad hair right just finished dinner at Johnny Rockets that was very tasty really enjoyed that say at least a four out five the ends were a little on the chili side but the burger was delicious is it all around my lips no the burger was very tasty is nice and freshly made so it’s very good and your chicken tenders very nice really good really really good Disney chicken tend American chicken hand Disney chicken tenders you know what I mean yeah it tastes delicious right so we’re now finished in we’re going to try and catch a bit of we rock see how this goes it’s lit up so we can try and find seats [Music] [Music] out of this mov knows how to rock and she me c me we are the chion we are the chion it’s a fun gimmick just see once but it just takes a long time to get a drink otherwise so we finished that the show uh we will rock you it’s really good fun it’s really entertaining um they’re great singers as well and they do a f fantastic job the set design and bits and pieces are amazing too especially considering it’s on a cruise ship but the fact that um I like how they have the um band kind of facing the stage so they kind of part of the show as well and like I try and put the video in if I can the conductor so energetic he’s having an absolute whale of a time so that was brilliant we’re now just set up by Wonderland um watching the [Music] crowds love of good people watching spot deciding what we’re going to do for the rest of the [Music] evening California the place thank you I need you to rub this one three times one two three close your eyes make a wish and say abracadabra Abracadabra look look now for you sir y please rub it three times rub it three times make a wish close your eyes and say abracadabra Abracadabra there you go I’m just going to ring the checks and I make yeah no problem at all thank you so much for that that’s fantastic the drinks are delicious but you can’t breathe in when you take a sip you blow in you can get rid the smoke otherwise you just inhale the smoke it smells so good [Music] though Kate singing uh songs from Crazy Girlfriend anyway it’s been a lovely evening we’ve uh kind of bar surfed we popped to Bolero very nice drinks not kind of our our kind of music but still good fun had some karaoke on there as well we got a drink from Wonderland we went to Music Hall T all the different places and it was a lovely evening the music the musicians around the um ship are really talented really good fun so we are now off to bed tomorrow we are getting off earlyish we’re going to try and get off when the gang way first opens about half eight Nish uh to head into Bill po but thank you very much for watching we had a lovely day in lell it’s a beautiful town so if you get the chance to visit I would recommend it lots of fun stuff to do in a lovely town to wander around but anyway would you highly recommend
