the front of we can see loo Dynasty starting to move up here with inter Mar 1 really fighting now and it’s the fight to get to this uh Corner the right hander and then you know the second right hander we can see the GC men the moment went through the 4 kilm they started it back off and losing you know quite a lot of positions uh it’s now the GC men with their lead out man in the big fight right turn coming up the first one’s ran round about and then it’s a real 90° Robbie asander M on the front they’re on the front but looking comfortable Poise right behind them look at all the Riders of Lotto Destiny they’ve taken out part of this roundabout make an easier passage there to the right it’s now 400 m to what is essentially the final proper corner of this race 2.3k to go they’ll swing to the right as well arold de now in third position hands on the top of the bars just looking all so powerful but the rest all battling to get back up to the front Victor Kart’s coming around the middle of the road and the big sprint trains we talked about with there Sten he’s got pedison also another team at from Little Trek with him this is that final corner 2.3k to go and they’re straightening up towards the Finish 2.3 km to the finish the pace is on with Victor kabat in the red behind Mark kaves has not been in a better position for a long time coming into the final couple of Cs to try and win a stage at the toour of France if he gets this one it’s number 35 and he will have the record but there’s so many competitors and contenders in there a few of them who have to move up including dun who is a little bit box back Robbie and including philipson he’s in about 40th position oh there’s bumping there b trying to push his way out past Israel Premier Tech left side now they come alaer King bringing Yas philipson gavia Bennett also tracking those Wheels G on the extreme left of the picture so all coming together Phillipson Bennett gmet left side with Lotto Destiny Arnold Dee Mark Cavendish right in the middle what a bit of work that was from off KCK to bring them to the front on the left inside Kristoff being brought into position now 1.5 km to go and there will be rarely a better opportunity Mark Cavendish a shot at glory a chance for immortality in cycling terms coming up to the flam Rouge round about to go through but it’s straight across the middle of it it’s flattened out and here we go 1,000 M sha it is time to go it’s time to Sprint yes it is time to get into the good position certainly not to start your Sprint but be in that position now as we go into this final run to the line but we can El into Corner in a great position here but you have to hold that position as well mat and theol here also he is vital if he can get to the position where he leads out his Sprinter MCO is just a couple of Wheels behind cavish at 750 m to the line a reminder them approaching the five final 100 m into a headwind and 500 M against the wind is a long 500 M left hand side you can see it going they still can’t see the finish that comes with 250 M just less to go on the left hand side it’s Mar pon team was starting the Sprint his team is behind now it’s now Matthew P pool on the right hand side there is Mark cavage following the wheels he’s going to have to go off the wheel of aaman if he’s going to do it m f is there as well only now they will start to see the Finish Line it’s slightly uphill and there is Mark avish there is Mark avish through the center he’s hitting the front here Mark cavish is there there’s a crash behind mark cavish this is history this is history first day was M now it’s Mark cavish standing on the shoulders of giants the of France and the greatest of all time one record breaker now stands alone Mark caves has 35 stage wins more than anybody who ever came before most doubted he believed a day he and we will never ever forget the record belongs to Mark caves we watch we enjoy we sit AB absolutely stunned and stunned is word absolutely stunning The Way of watch Mark Cavendish weave his way through like days gone by we haven’t seen it for a while and finally Mark cavish elbows out protected himself all the way and he just just dominated that Sprint from even back in 8 nth position and he changed his line away from yasper Phillips and he said I’m going back to the left I need it to open up for me he followed the slipstream of Bennett and as they came around that final bend the wayes parted Cavendish had a quick look to the side over his shoulder and went with everything he has ever had in those legs and it’s 35 for Kev Sean Kelly can you believe what you have just seen well amazing and you know we know Cav dis over his career positioning he’s able to just you know get himself into position if he’s in that good position going into the Sprint he can you pick his line and again today he does and gets the record and you know after what he’s been through in the last number of days to be able to do this you know a big big champion and he proves it once again at this point in his career you had that feeling it looked like it was all coming together and this is how it did come together he was positioned but he followed the Wheels himself Sean yes we can see him here just you know waiting and uh just looking around sticking the elbows out and then you know just keeping the position on and needs to kick the Sprint when he when he FES the time to go when he kicks off but look at the power he has here also know impressive arms in the air mark aves standing on the shoulders of giants pushing it to New bound boundaries going further than anybody had ever gone before that’s the moment one for the history books let’s get some instant reaction Mark K’s writing history in the T France Hing Cas ball for the lead out and Cas B case b case we are live on Euros sport can we gete case can we get a Qui reaction oh messy Sprint but he nailed it sorry na it you’re you’re historical it’s great this is what it means this is what it means cage ball making history with mares aana they did it already here on the stage five make sure you stay stay on our coverage for more content on the ground can’t believe ladies and gentlemen boys and girls we have just been witness to a moment of History not only in cycling but in all of sports the greatest Sprinter to ever grace the greatest bik Grace of them all has printed his name Solo in the record books with more stage wins than anyone who has gone before him and all against the ever stacking odds crashing out of the tour last year he had only already come back after being written off a whole seven years ago he survived depression physical illness had already suffered heat exhaustion in this year’s race this is a man who has known more highs and lows of this sport than almost any and this today is his final Ultimate Prize one stage win is enough to make the career of any Rider 35 is enough

  1. Watched it several times. Mark is the goat 🐐. The respect from the peloton as a new history is written, fantastic. Great job from the team and the belief Mark had that he could do it sensational – chapeau🍾

  2. Merckx is the best if you look at percentages. To put the Cavendish achievment in perspective. Merckx participated in only 7 tours while Cavendish participated in 15 tours. In 1973 Merckx didn't participate but the year before he won 6 stages and the year after even 8 stages. You can't conclude he would have won 7 stages in 1973 but 0? 6-8-4-6-8-2-0 the tourstages Merckx won.
Still, must be said winning 35 stages is an impressive achievement for Cavendish. He's the most succesfull tour sprinter ever and i don't think there will be someone who breaks his record.

  3. Questions will be asked in years to come on how it was possible for Cavendish to win this stage. A rider who was out on his feet after the first two stages… Possibly wont complete the tour, but something does not fit right in this stage win… Time will tell.

  4. The sprinter peloton complained about the last straight line in which a bend had been provided by the organization. In response, the sprinter teams gave the stage victory to Cavendish. It was very striking that the good sprinters kept their legs still. Merckx's record victories were erased from the history books and everyone is happy.

  5. Such a beautiful moment.
Cav – 'nah i gotta go see the boys'
Dunno why but was expecting maybe a bit of jealousy or grudging respect for mark if he got this but the pure love, respect and admiration shown for him by everyone has been amazing.

  6. The way he goes to all his team and congratulates them is special. Special person extraordinary human being. Retire now Mark. Don’t temp fate. You’ve achieved everything and more. Retire with your lovely family. It’s been a pleasure watching you.

  7. I wont lie, I cried when I saw the win. I've followed Cavs entire career. Met him a dozen times, have 10 pics with him amd have the same amount of autographs from him and they are all framed on my wall in my man cave. I wouldnt sell any of them. These are mine FOREVER!!! People that have NEVER met him say hes a d1ck but he was always cordial and nice with me. I
I want to thank all the haters for doubting him. That is when Cav shines the most!!
