I cant for the life of me seem to get the indexing right, after trying for hours and checking the derailleur hangar alignment multiple times this is the only thing left i can think of that would be causing all my drivetrain noise. Any suggestions?
Is this much play normal in the derailleur?

Check the threads on the bolt connecting your derailleur to the derailleur. When mine moved like that the threads on both were completely borked.
That seems a bit excessive. How old is the derailleur? You may be able to remove some of the play with an xx1 b bolt, but if the derailleur is old you might be better off just buying a new one.
The bolt it’s pivoting around, can you tighten it?
