  1. Who cares ride what makes you go out there and exercise . My bike is cheap but I love to see people ridding their expensive bikes , even if I am faster I am happy to see them doing some exercise.

  2. It’s not the bike that’s heavy, it’s you. Would you spend 200+ dollars just to shave off 1 lb? Or would you rather lose weight for free?

  3. Not including pedals or cages so around 7.4kg before you can actually ride it. Actual pro bikes are all around 7.4-7.6 and some even 7.8kg once you add numbers and computers etc.

  4. How much is this bike????? I have a Wilier le roi mounted on an ultegra and it's much lighter than it is, including pedals, gps support, bottle cage…… what a steal, the new bikes.

  5. Now most mid range production aero bike are 8.x kg. After putting water bottles, light, bike computer, saddle bag, it comes to 10kg or a bit more.

  6. My Cannondale SuperSix 2023 is nearly a kilo heavier than my Giant TCR Pro1 2020, yet the SuperSix is much much quicker, the power transfer is instantly noticeable.

  7. There's no point aiming for less than 6.8kg. So they aim for 7ish and benefit from aero.
We know that the mass has a significantly lesser impact than the aerodynamics😊

  8. I would've expected in 2023 that we're buying 6.9kg bikes without exotic parts. Seems like the industry has regressed. Honestly the UCI should be disbanded so serious innovation can start.

  9. There is a minimum weight limit for uci certified bikes. As a small frame still has to meet the requirement, the larger frame sizes will often weigh more. Also disk brakes and electronic shifting weigh more, but those actually make riders faster, as being able to shift under high load means riders never have to slow down their pedaling, and being able to brake harder allows riders to descend faster

  10. I mean it ain’t far off 6.8kg but for the price you pay it should be square on 6.8 with pedals and mounts along with all the aero and stiffness

  11. 3D printed saddle is usually heavier than regular one ; also wheetset plays the greatest part in weight! Try Princeton Alta 3532, immediately weight will go down below 6.8 kg

  12. If you find an online calculator and plug in say 2kg lighter system weight (rider plus bike), it “saves” at best the equivalent watts. There are very few people and situations in which 4 watts “saved” makes any material difference, not even over super long courses.
Tldr: bike weight is far less important than rider weight, aero (bike and rider both), and adding 4 watts to your FTP is pretty easy, and a few thousand $’s cheaper

  13. Sounds like buyers remorse because you overpaid for your dream Colnago but found out it's not made in Italy (Taiwan). Probably a 1 yr warranty too so go easy on that heavy bike 😂

  14. Bike weight doesn't matter. That being said, I'm marginally disappointed with how heavy my newly built Madone SLR turned out to be. Nearly 9k, and it's over 8kgs. Money doesn't buy bragging rights like it used to.

  16. My Reynolds 853 DeKerf road bike is 8.35 kg. With its steel fork…SRAM red (10 speed) and Fulcrum racing Al wheels…Heh…LeMond and folks must be laughing…Except for all the crashes on descents.

  17. My bike costs 4500 and weights 6.5kg de rosa sk pininfarina 2016 campy super record tublars. Not only is it most likely more areo but a full kg lighter and about 10 to 12k cheaper. Colnago common for tgat price my bike better weight 4kg and drive itself.
