With the foreshadowing of the Tour de France a friend of mine n me decided to make a 5 days tour through Alsace region including some good climbs on the Vosges mountains, eg the popular pass „Col de la Schlucht“.

No camping, just hotels or similar stays.
The heat wave last week was a big factor though, also once surprised by heavy rain n thunder but all in all very good conditions and really great asphalt most of the time.
Sometimes we took an off-road alternative to avoid busier streets but for the most part the traffic was totally chill and best part besides the fast and long descents(longest 15km non stop!) were the drivers – shoutout to the french locals on that region, totally respectful and never taking over with less than 1,5m distance of at all, often waiting for longer periods and easy communication with gestures!

Wish in my country Germany they d behave like this! dreaming

Landscape was great once we climbed a bit and the local and very traditional villages or beautiful towns like Colmar were just we candy!

In total we managed around 400kms and 3000m of climbing. Steepest grades around 15-17% which definitely reached the limit of my gearing(seated at least) with the bags on my bike, but all managed at the end.
