It's not been easy trying to achieve a more upright riding position for my Pathlite ON 5 SUV.

I think Canyon missed an opportunity with this bike's riding position. They made it with flat bars and an eMTB riding position even though it's not a mountain bike. The relative long distance from the seatpost to the stem makes the geometry difficult.

What I've done so far is installed riser bars with a 45mm rise and that has helped immensely plus the Ergon flared grips but I am not quite there yet.

I have 70mm riser bars coming Saturday. The measurements I've taken so far tell me that that will probably be about the limit because of the cable length. Especially the front brake line.

Does anyone you know how much of a hassle it would be to get a longer brake line installed for the front brake?

The stem and the shims work together so third party stems would be difficult. The shims are from ACROS and I'm not sure if the stem is. If anyway knows who makes the stem that works with these shims that would be helpful. My assumption is ACROS makes all of it.

I'm in touch with Canyon to see if I can get a 45mm stem instead of the 60mm stem it came with. The 45mm stem comes stock on the small sized frame of this model. I have an XL frame. A 45mm stem would bring the bars over 1/2 closer and that would help and with the 70mm bars this might work.

I really like this bike. I just wish it had a more "comfort bike" geometry with upright riding because that is how it will be used by riders. It is made for casual street riding with some mellow off road use only. And I wish it was easier to customize.

    Anyway, that the latest.
Thanks listening to my Ted Talk. 😎
