In our ‘Bike Talk’ segment, we give the stage to the pro’s to talk about their bike and to give an in-depth look at their specific set-up. What makes their bike special, why is it set-up the way it is and what parts are they particularly fond of? You will find it all out in ‘Bike Talk’.

In this episode we check out the Scott Foil of Caleb Ewan, the talented sprinter of the Orica-BikeExchange team. His bike is equipped with a full Dura-Ace Di2 groupset including sprint shifters, Dura-Ace C50 wheels and a PRO Vibe 7S handlebar.

[Music] this is my preferred bike out of all the Scot range Scott foil we changed from the the old foil which was also a really good bike to this one this year this one’s you know I think it’s it’s lighter it’s stiffer but it’s also a more comfortable bike to ride as well so you know when the roads aren’t so good it’s it’s a nicer ride um but yeah you’re not losing any stiffness and and not losing any weight so it’s a a perfect all around black I [Music] think it’s quite small I think it’s a an extra extra small frame so 47 so it’s uh it’s the smallest one you can get got a a very long stem not so much seat height just because I’ve got quite a long upper body compared to my legs you know if it’s going to be a really fast kind of downhill Sprint then I’ll go you know up to a 55 chain ring on the front and then always an 11 on the back uh 11 Cog and then usually two of 25 um at the moment I’ve got a compact chain ring on which is I think I’ve got a 34 on the bottom and then I’ve got 53 on the front yeah I think the the shifting is the best best there is I remember when I first uh started using the the uh electric shifting I had to I had to check if it that actually changed down in Gears because it changes so smoothly that you you can’t really feel it and also I have on my bike the Sprint shifters which makes a massive difference in the Sprint so you can uh so you can yeah you know change you can you can start in the smaller gear when you’re accelerating and then then go into the Bigg gear before I had that you know you had to be in the the gear that you wanted to end up being uh at the end of the Sprint so um so yeah that that makes a huge difference I usually go for for all alloy up here just because I think it’s a bit stiffer and then I really like like this drop it’s really comfortable to sit in and and I think it’s probably one of the best drops to sprint in as [Music] well I don’t really like to change too much on it um I think once you once you start changing little things all the time then your body doesn’t have enough time to get used to it and and then you start getting injuries and that kind of thing so I try to just maybe at the start here if something doesn’t feel right I’ll change it but then once the race starts then then I don’t really want to change [Music] anything
