2023 South Africa Cape Town athlone Stadium it is semi-final time at the 2023 World rugby under 20 Championship France versus England France and England the age-old Rivalry [Applause] L BL score again pretty gotten being knocked out after we we kind of started so well against them we didn’t really know how we uh let that let that slip and kind of took our foot off the gas time for Ang it was a bit of disappointment cuz we had it at a point we’re on top of them and then we we let it off and like against a French side like that they’re going to punish you and then suddenly the whole thing unraveled momentum would go against us and rather than it be one score or yellow card and then we we concede three points it was yellow card try try try [Applause] [Music] yeah it was it was tough we just had to to process the loss almost lick our wounds and and move on we felt like we could do it and we we needed to prove that point you know these young men have becoming great players come on [Music] and England will get that second [Applause] try it start to come around to the left but England is still in possession and they’re over the [Applause] line there’s the Trine now their Mercy France and England fantastic atmosphere Victory Target number one four tries and the bonus point target number two chance on the shoulder Englander there he’s in track of the scoreboard Morris more option but it was a slightly later Ral and it’s a later arrival from halwell it’s another for England Mark Maple tof’s men are writing their own story in France England of the 2024 under 20 Six Nations Champions with the Six Nations Victory still very much in their rearview mirror this under 20 England team will be out to validate that Victory this is the 2024 World rugby under 20 championship and England will undoubtedly have a say Nathan mitello back row what is your earliest memory of playing rugby when I say that I think my earliest memory of playing rugby would be a school boy game when I was like year eight can’t remember it too well but I remember it was it was a big game in our eyes like we thought they were going to be like some unbelievable team and then we beat them and that was that was a really good feeling for me to get into sport I think my dad kind of helped he was a big rugby fan when I was young young I probably learned more towards football I wouldn’t have been here without even my parents or my sister like all helping along the way my family are kind of my biggest like driver and going after that aser poke for show Luc prop my earliest memory would be when my dad took me and my older brother to our local club and the first thing they made us do is like we we raced each other and obviously he won but yeah it’s like a fun memory of mine my inspiration uh off the pitch is definitely my mom I would say on and off she worked so hard for me and my four brothers I love her so much I’m my mommy’s voice so yeah I’m very fortunate that I can call it my my profession and that I can be like in the these kind of opportunities but I’d play the game regardless even if I wasn’t here it’s it’s a game I’ve really grown to love so that’s the easy way to that’s why I [Music] play Mark Maple Toof I’m the head coach of England under 20s huge congrats to them to the coaching staff and to all involved in having got them to this point a first title in three years I look it’s a great feeling and to be part of that particularly in a in a tournament where it goes on for a long period of time with a a very tight and great group of lads the Chang po was uh oh it was brilliant we um we were just get mental that was an amazing feeling um yeah a lot of champagne bottles a lot of water being frown about sharing the the experience of losing to then coming around and then going unbeaten in Six Nations was was really special you know to experience those those Highs are good we are grounded enough I think to know that that’s not always going to be the case and I think one thing we probably pride ourselves on is you’ve got to win with with honor and you’ve got to win with humility but at the same time you know you’ve got to lose and draw the same way and when we are on top how do we stay on top of course we want to win games you know everybody’s competitive it’s why you play it’s why you play sport and it’s why you play Elite Sport um but it can’t be just fundamentally the the sole thing it’s not working it’s not working to the left hospital if you want to say enough Rec you can say Christian barard chrisan we definitely learn a lot about ourselves about how important our prepers how mentally you need to be like fully in the moment rather than focusing too much on on what’s going on before and after and recently it’s like everyone wants to play for each other here and it probably helps us play a lot better having that that connection off off the pitch throughout the Six Nations how we were as a group was was most important I think it’ll be the same in this tournament that it’s going to have to be about fighting for each other this is the start of the Argentina week now right make sure the details right make sure the Energy’s High we have to remember you know the journey that these players are on some of these Lads will be friends for life we’re in a pool uh out in the world cup with with ar Argentina Fiji and South Africa and quite honestly with you know our focus is is firmly on Argentina really excited to to rip into that game I think that that’ll be a big setpiece team though they want to be aggressive and try and go over the top of us but for us that’s exactly what we want you need to win your first game so there’s a lot of pressure on us to to go and do that but I feel like this team like we so cut pressure and we love it each week is is a new match so like that repeat cycle of of working towards trying to beat someone else I just love that feeling aets men kick off their campaign against the passionate L pumers 29th of June 2024 athlone Stadium we’ve grown as a group and as a Brotherhood we’re getting closer and closer and that’s what you need to to win rugby games really

    1. U20 Final between Ireland and France was one sided to France.
England did give them the toughest game in the semis and lead by 10 points at the end of the first half. Although Ireland vs England Group stage game that something special. 34 points tied.

    2. SA ,ireand and france are all ahead of england .Where wqs england when ireland win 2 grand slams in a row last year England Rugby get so excited for no reason, I dont see any of these getting senior caps while SA france and ireland are all getting some ,look at Prendegast 4 ireland and tuilagi for france.Theyre all a level above england .STICK TO SOCCER

    3. Why is the “British” Anthem being played at an England game? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

    4. We will probably win again 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹

    5. TWO seasons in a row Ireland wins the grand slam U20 Six nations. The third year they go undefeated, tying with the eventual champions (only on points), England. But England are the best U20 side in the world in 2024? Let’s all hold off on that one for a wee while.

    6. They were probably the best team at the 6 nations but Ireland denied them of their grand slam. Irelands been better than them over the last 3 years and France has been better than everyone. Ireland also beat New Zealand and South Africa during the u20s word cup two years ago. This current Ireland team, particularly the pack have a few familiar faces in their squad and some massive boys in the pack. France, Ireland, England, South Africa, New Zealand in that order.

    7. As an Irish fan based off of this year they might have a serious claim. People don’t realise that for the final u20 game against England France released several players from the top 14 and pro D2 back into their u20 squad, including tuilagi who played in the men’s six nations. England still beat them by 14 points in FRANCE.

England are not a joke this year. If that u20 six nations form translates we could all be in trouble.

So for me they’d be favourites then New Zealand(who won super rugby u20) and then I’d have Ireland, France and South Africa trailing behind in that order.

    8. I'm French and it's possible for England to win it this year as many teams. France is below this year because some are playing tonight for the French rugby Top 14 final between Toulouse and Bordeaux. The others are in Argentina touring with the French national team.
Good luck my rosbeef friends 😊

    9. Win a 6N thanks to Ireland failing to get a BP versus Italy and already they are getting ahead of themselves…England are very good and will be in the conversation of winning the tournament but they still have ALOT to prove before they can claim to be the best in the world.
