Hello fellow tourers,

I found a used Fuji Touring (v-brakes version) for 350€ which would be great for me because I have a low budget, and in my country (Italy) there's a really small market for used touring bikes.

The major problem is that it's a size L/56cm that's suited for 175-183cm (according to Fuji website), and I am 188cm.

My current bike is a Triban RC120 size L, suited for 180-188cm riders, and I feel conmfortable enough riding it. I compared the frames geometry on 99spokes and they don't seem really different actually (see image, green is Triban and cyan is Fuji).

Do you think I'd be able to make it fit, maybe changing stem or seatpost if needed?

    1. I would say try it.

      I’m 188, I would pick the 56 size as a starting point.

I’m currently riding a Peugeot 57, and my son has a Kona 56, which I find to be on the large size.  But in the end there’s nothing to be done but give it a try.

Plus, it also depends on body shape – once saw a Kona 58 outside a store which looked like the guy riding it must be at least 210 – well, turns out he was maybe 180, but with the longest legs and arms (and, subsequently, shortest torso) the world has ever seen.
