so the story that we’re going to try to write at the tourto France this year is is [Music] [Music] is today is Grand the par stage one stage one we start in Florence first stage to the France 24 the first stage of the race stage one it’s going to be really tough for first stage of the tour I think uh one of the hardest stage ever that to the France draw in history of course the first time ever in history that the tour def France starts in Italy how does it feel to be coming with your first T France race number yeah feels good a nice number right the tour to France is always the most important race of the year for every team sort of the mythical race that I don’t want to say it started at all because there are older races but The Grand Tour was the first one are you here we are Shan Quinn’s parents and we are here to watch uh first stage of the tour cuz we used to come here with him many years ago when he was SM and the inspiration is probably what got it here oh this is amazing really incredible kind of an amazing might start crying full circle moment I mean it’s pretty huge I was on the sh in 1989 when Greg ran won so it’s kind of crazy to actually think that he’s in the race just like all that hard work and you hope you’re going to get the dream and a lot of times is and that he got it I the history of the tour to France to me is is sort of an interesting point in that that um unlike the Olympic movement which was sort of based on this higher faster stronger ethos the T France was started as a publicity stunt with the hope that either no one or only one person would be able to finish actually finish the tour to France it was a created event to create stories mythical in the truest sense and an odyssey of you know the human Spirit are you close to the front Alberto it’s evolved into into something much more precise and fast ice CH and we go P so if the race gets lit up it’s going to be on this one and now UAE start to make life a little bit harder at the border of uh between Tusan and and and this is where the real race starts they are racing full gas and gained 1 minute while here everybody is trying to [Music] survive and we start few climbs up to the apini I think the biggest other task you’ve got today is managing the heat 38° scorching easy [Music] post they would have to resist to chasing Ben Healey and more importantly to chasing peltin after all there was a yellow Jersey on the line it wasn’t really a personal decision it was more for uh yeah to try and make the race hard for Alberto to to drop Pon and May [Music] okay it’s 1 minute for Ben so Alberto sit still for the moment Ben has to give it everything it’s still 1 minute this is the message he needs yeah till we go through sarino that is an external territory of Italy with um with a few steps clim if Ben doesn’t get there then we have to start chasing with visma to catch the front to at least get the chance to [Music] win wait weeler okay Ben is losing time to the front he’s now on 1:5 so Ben you sit up and wait and we pull from behind Ben Waits and we pull [Applause] behind and then we we dive down the Adriatic Sea uh towards the finishing of [Applause] IM stage one of the toour of France vam Brook is the rider of the day we had to use almost all my teammates to try to to bridge the Breakaway and unfortunately we didn’t Alberto look for ped’s wheel and try everything you can to sprint on the left side but it’s a b Blockbuster stage one first ever yellow jersey for the Frenchman the Breakaway makes it brutally hot hard parkour hard profile uh the guys did very well and uh we we fought for best possible result wasn’t top three wasn’t even top five I think and the Sprinter was even a little bit blocked but yeah it’s different if you sprint for the victory Of You few spring for the for the third place so yeah we knew it was very hard uh to to control the race uh maybe maybe we we were the only team really committed and this this was a Pity but yeah this is cycling we have to we have to accept it and uh anyway we show how strong we are tomorrow is another stage right first stage with the Cadillac how was that for you you got used to it super fast range brilliant I mean inside is just you know I would love to have one at home I think it’s a great tool um we are on Saturday which is day one which is stage one and the Riders have just finished shopping wise I’m just topping uptini spaghetti spaghetti grossy spaghettoni capalini Pini seven different types of straight pasta what should we go for buckets and butini making sure that that we go into the next few days with enough stuff in the food truck enough ingredients enough produce to keep me rolling I normally shop once every 3 days I’d say I like but I also order stuff from the hotel so I perishable um fragile items I get from the hotel and then I bulk buy the carbs the rice is flour pasta the carb Den Pasta Pasta butini number nine [Music]
