Vlog Day 13 – Bikepacking from Ireland to Italy – 2500km solo trip!
really taking my time this morning nearly 10:00 I’m just checking out now yeah need to run to the shop as well because I have no food left let’s [Music] go got to ride for a full 5 minutes and now it’s raining again yeah how exciting welcome to Strasburg completely forgot today is Sunday and literally all the shops are closed and there is one that closes in about 20 minutes I’m trying to get there hopefully it’ll be open cuz I literally have no food left got there just in time so plan make my way out of the city and then and uh then keep going up the mountains literally feel like I’m getting no cycling done today got to keep fueling the engine that’s it no more excuses belly is full have enough food for probably 2 days I have water I have everything just need to put my head down now and get the miles done come on come on come on I’ve been listening to this audiobook the last few days and I’m right at the end of it the last half an hour so all I want is to just get on a cycle path outside the city and just put my headphones in and listen to the end of it yeah we are officially outside France now back into Germany and the next country is going to be Switzerland [Music] seems like it’s going to be a regular thing now flat tires every [Applause] day I was nearly wondering was it a patch from yesterday but it looks okay no just a new puncture definitely getting quicker at fixing them that’s for sure you might have started noticing how in between the clouds the landscape is slowly changing it’s because we’re getting closer and closer to the mountains in about 50 km I’m going to be up about 800 M elevation we’re now messing anymore the real deal it’s starting slowly but surely wow look at how much has been raining lately it’s raining but it’s sunny so I don’t know should I put my sunglasses on should I put my rain cut on what the [Music] heck it’s raining again I’m going to give it 10 minutes to see if it’s just a shower got this little thing waiting was actually the best choice stopped let’s go just going around for a minute cuz I’m getting really frustrated with this weather I sweat like a pig in the rain jacket but then it’s not raining enough so I take it off put my windbreaker on and it starts lashing again I’m still 30 km away and uh it’s all up here here he comes time to climb let me tell you something I’m struggling to push up the bike so I don’t feel too bad for not being able to cycle my CS are on fire my Cales are on fire next time I’ll do it on an electric bike oh yeah let put a lift or something started raining again and Trisha just commented on one of the Vlogs keep it going we’re praying for some for you sure thanks thank you Trisha it’s not really happening but thank you I really appreciate it it’s a beautiful place it’s a little bit hard to get to finally made it oh yeah I booked the room for the night I love camping but like for 50 Quid bed a shower and everything 15 minutes later turns out you have to check in online and then they send you an email with a link and you use your phone to open the door ah I just want to get into the door half an hour later uh there was a German couple there they were very nice that let me use their phone to ring the company click on the button to open the [Music] door what the wa fancy very fancy so apparently this is what 51 gets you in southern Germany wow I’m going to call this the end already I’m just going to have my dinner what what have I got I’ve got a tuna mozzarella pasta kind of thing I’m just airing out the tent cuz otherwise it’s going to get smelly next time I’ll use it washing my clothes because they really need it and that’s it so this is the end of day 13 already thanks everyone for the comments and likes and everything it really makes it easier to just keep going I will T you tomorrow as usual and I hope you’ll have a good night bye
