[Music] there had been a French flavor to the to of FR on day one in Italy would that continue on day two would it be a day for the world champion Macha fodo was in town Primo rit in good spirits after just under 50 Riders finished on the same time around 15 seconds behind ran Bal who was the ha emperor in Italy starting in chesen natico and heading just under 200 km to bologa the first part of the stage would be flat on the Emiliano Romano plane normally reserved for Sprint stages at the goo but this is the tour this would be different two laps of a finishing circuit in bologna and paying tribute to the jro de Emilia which races this circuit each year San LCA climb and a big opportunity for things to happen in the general classification yonas VOR waving in after ticking off day one and Roman B finally at 33 years of age enjoying his day in the yellow jersey question is how many days would he get to lead the tour a 99th French Rider in yellow and quite a few of riders trying to get up the road in the Breakaway first 10 km saw big fiery fight and in the end 11 Riders would make it up there led by yonas Abramson who was picking up more King of the mountains points the first ever Norwegian to wear the polka dot Jersey into IMA the peleton would roll 5 and 1 half minutes would be the Gap as they went on and off the motor racing circuit an intermediate Sprint happened behind there’d be a crash on the way there Sprint points taken by dear as wat fard Matel Jorgenson and Lawrence duplus went down thankfully for all involved all relatively okay couple of scratches to be sorted out mechanical problems quickly remedied too into the final 60 km the Gap at almost 10 minutes and it looked increasingly like the day was going to the breakway Fabio yakobson suffering from cramp would lose contact same for Mark Cavendish a few other sprinters would join him in a gretto also the gretto fairly early on was match f a pool Victor Kats went to work on the third from last climb of the day and when they got onto the penultimate climb onto the circuit the Breakaway having four minutes San Luca looking a picture the crowds incredible and the 666 archways the longest Portico in the world leading to the top were attacked by Axel Lon the Frenchman the under 23 champion of the world behind Vima Lisa would lead the Pelon on Tish bot looking after yonas VOR and yellow Jersey H Bal sitting safely in about 20th position 20ks to go breakway breaking up Oliva vona and Abramson leaving the other Riders behind L horns who had attack not making that move also further back there was apathy the stage really was going to the break Ben Healey was trying to away to get the yellow Jersey final Ascent of the day a again to San Luca just under 2 km at over 10% and Kevin vla for AA went away Jonas Abramson was fighting though and not giving up coming to the kurv de Oran to the final time it was still vla in charge Adam yakes then tried to take charge of the chasing Pelon and there were gaps starting to appear pre AIT in a little bit of trouble and crucially the yellow Jersey ran Bal distanced just before T poacha then attacked all the Talking the will they won’t they Pacha was there and the only man could go with him was yonas vagor that crash in the bass country it didn’t matter talk of a big four but this time it was the top two an iconic climb and two icons riding away on it behind in the pelan there was hesitation it turned out that Remco iapo was in the Chase and Kevin vah was riding away those he dropped on the climb would not see him again the first ever win at the Tour of France for a man on debut a second French win in as many days the first time since the 1960s that France had won the first two stages and another first in a tour of firsts AR bambay hotels with their Maiden tode France stage win 23-year-old VCA Victorious second on the day was Abramson who keeps the polka dot Jersey in fact adding to his lead and behind even aul would just about make contact or Woody he had a passenger as well and we hadn’t seen them at all richad carapaz was with him so pachar and Vore who at one stage had 45 seconds of a gap would have nothing on AOL and in the end it would be kapaz winning the Sprint questions as to whether the yellow Jersey could be kept quickly dispelled the answer was that it was going to the front group but with all the positions having to be added up who would it be going to well the stage win to vla no doubt about that the top 10 looking like this on the day what a win for vla the 23-year-old from France he enjoyed his moment on the podium French cycling in a fantastic position two days from two and two Breakaway wins at the to of hor in the GC after all of that counting was done it was Tad gachard who would take the yellow Jersey on the day the race began from the late Michael pant’s Hometown the foundations already being laid for a shot at the first jro to a double since the Italian pulled it off 26 years ago stage three should be a day at a first opportunity for the sprinters a long stage the longest in fact all the way to [Music] chein and after a few lumps and bumps on the way a chance for Riders to fight it out in the spring the toour of France is live and On Demand each and every day on Euros sport at Discovery Plus [Music]

    1. The fact that Jonas is able to follow Pog after recovering from his crash is insane. It's going to be very exciting to see those two go head to head as the tour progresses.

    2. Ironic, pogacar takes yellow and is in big trouble. He, the best overall cyclist, can’t at tour beat vingegaard.

P wheelhouse is shorter steep climbs. V rt there, equal to p forte.

In high mtns, long climbs, v beats p routinely.

In tt, v beats p routinely.

P is the better overall rider. He’s gonna have to get sizable time on gravel stage, where he excels. On gravel, one thinks, both v and Remco are vulnerable. V needs a big chunk on gravel

P is so good and so likeable but at tour v has his number. But sad. Look what v can do now, so early in his recovery! Stupendous! I thought v wd not be good till stage 8-10. He’s good now. Wow! As race goes on v will likely only get even better.
      There’s a q: perhaps covid still in a weakened p, but tiny q
The worry for p: we are not even in high mtns. High mtns, x long climbs, at altitude, that has been where v has chewed p up. Likely big time gains coming for v there, if history is our guide. Esp hot days, high mtns….
But we don’t know for sure. Not yet. P lost weight this yr. He’s lighter, to battle v. And, a key for me, only a x few number of people know whether in winter p got smart and did heat training, which he needed. Did he? It’s foundational. We don’t know.
After two days: big advantage v. What a splendid rider is v

Poor wva today, bad luck again.

    3. And another possible issue: v is in shape already, but does not have the miles in his legs. That’s a bit odd. There’s a chance, w o those long training sessions, that in heat, when v pushes himself hard, he will cramp up. It’s a normal reaction.

One needs the miles or risks cramps.

V thus sd still not push, not attack, just follow. Don’t exert too much, don’t try too hard. Follow. For now. Get miles in legs, for now. You push, you attack, you cd cramp up your legs, and back, and arms, and chest. Go easy as you can in this race for as long as you can. You don’t have the training miles.

    4. OK – I'm gonna Subscribe again this year in the hope Eurosport have stopped telling us the results and giving away spoilers in the title, although this video already does that a bit.
Please, please please don't put info in the title that we want to learn during the race highlights, otherwise we just have to Block to avoid spoiling surprises.

    5. imagine if vingegaard hadnt crashed!! wow what a boring tour it would be then, if he have had perfect preperation, and then just getting better and better in the later stages, along with pogi feeling the giro in his legs! tht would have been some of a margain
