This flooding thing not only happens in Kenya 🤔. This week it rained so much Belgium experienced floods. Roads were closed, houses were swept away, rivers overflowed, some people died or were saved by boat, where there’s normally a road, thousands of people are still missing in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany, but to me it looked like normal rain that I’m used to from Kenya so I cycled and didn’t realise that it is rare here to rain this much, it has been decades. It wasn’t super heavy rain like in parts of Kenya but the main difference is when it rains, it doesn’t stop pouring for days and this water accumulates until it floods 😱.

I cycled a 70km loop from Brussels to Leuven and back. The beautiful flemish town that has buildings from the 15th century. Leuven is an academic town known for its breweries. I wonder what the correlation is between learning and beer :-).

    1. By the way you are a cycling tourist or you went for work? If not either it's both. I think by now you know Belgium even than the citizen themselves! I now have a sense of what it means for a country to be developed. Wow! Very elite trip this one you are in.

    2. How does the rain taste bro 😂😂 unfortunately the rain has caused havoc in Germany the Netherlands and some part of Belgium I believe. Germany was hit hard. 80 people are reported dead…
On a positive note strava leaderboard? Impressive 🤙🏿😂👏🏿

    3. Love to see it! The cycling structures in these countries are simple and effective. The citizens also respect cyclists alot more because they themselves are cyclists!

    4. Moses, thank you for your videos. I hope Nairobi will get such infrastructure one day, hopefully in our lifetime! Hehe!! I like sharing your videos on Skyscrapercity. You asked what the white lights are for at 2:44. I didn't see anyone else answer. Those would be the signals for the electric tram. The horizontal line means stop, vertical means go. 🙂

Keep up the good work brother! I'm also hoping that the Kenyan riders will send a team of cyclists to TDF in the near future.

    5. fun fact in Belgium (really only in the city of Ghent and in West Flanders, tbh) we use the word for fast (snel) when we mean "attractive". Particularly when talking about women.

    6. Hi! Thank you very much for this video! I will travel to Leuven in September to study and I'd love to do this route 🙂 I wanted to ask you a few things: first, is it safe to do this route with a road bike? or it could be better if I use a mountain bike? also, do you know if I can do this route in any season? is there a month where its safer to do it? Thank you very much again, greetings from Peru 😀
