I’ve journeyed across Norway to film and document the best loop rides the country has to offer. This series will reveal the countless incredible cycling destinations in the land of the midnight sun.

In episode one, we kick off with an exhilarating climb up one of the world’s most renowned roads, Lysevegen. This spectacular route traverses the southern mountain range near Stavanger, featuring a fjord cruise, a challenging 27-switchback climb, and a remote mountain pass and valley, all within a 150 km adventure. Welcome to Norway!

no way looking great and then another waterfall prit average to be honest you if I could offer you only one tip for the future so I’ve been away for the last 6 months building cyclor way.com Mark 2 or as I like to call it Pandora’s Box never end in [Music] problems but don’t you worry cats and kittens I think we’ve got things under control and that means it’s time for a new series it’s been way too [Music] long that’s just so [Music] immature and oh boy what a series it is I’m going to take you on a journey to some of the most incredible places you can ride a bike here in Norway well at least I know I’m the first person this year to cycle this road some are a little bit tricky look at this others are a breeze in this series we’re going to focus on Loops you see most of the time we go from A to B but in these Journeys we’re going to go from a to a come back where we started it’s the best way to travel all right here comes the suffer fast this road is ridiculous it’s just it’s another level it’s another [Music] level oh my good Lord What a Feeling all of This Joy I’ve been stealing we all need someone someone that can make us believe 3 because in Norway you’re not in control of when you ride noever is CH me stop stop don’t [Music] stop it’s going to rain this [Music] afternoon the great thing about a loop is you can start anywhere on it but I recommend Stanger sandz or orar the ferry terminal is our first protocol 30 km away one out to the ferry 23 km to go 3 200 me mountain to climb stress mode [Music] click I’ve never cycled here before this is one place I’ve never cycled and I say okay every area of Norway every area of Norway is just stunningly beautiful the Sun is up 7 km to go 20 minutes stress mode is still on but I’m confident I’m confident oh there’s a deer there’s a deer there’s two more over there got so on trip advisor Lisa fan which we just about head down has got 1,000 593 reviews 1,225 of them are excellent Lu means F of light likely inspired by the everchanging weather and the way the granite sparkles in the sunlight the lucif was carved by rivers and then sculpted by glaciers today it’s filled with water from the rivers and the sea but we have some poor and some terrible ones and I thought let’s let’s read the terrible ones Brian from Texas says we went at 10 a.m. and there was mist and Rain couldn’t see much and the view wasn’t pretty at all even when it cleared slightly I didn’t think it was as good as other FS like get anger save your money you filthy animal Jackie from Edinburgh says a really bad idea to do a Fu Cruise in the rain but our tickets were pre-booked for a specific time a waste of time and money so don’t pre-book a fi trip only do it on the day if the weather is good John from England says went on a trip by boat which takes in Pulpit Rock From Below the vagabon cave and a waterfall it also seem that must do when we got there the pulpit Rock was completely underwhelming the cave was basically a hole in the Rock and the waterfall was smaller than many others I’ve seen also the chip was [Music] overpriced well I am sorry to hear about your experiences guys but if the weather is okay you can just take the 17 Euro Ferry with your bike to the end of the F where one of the greatest roads in the world awaits okay this is it this is the famous climb here’s the fact opened in 1984 and goes from sea level to nearly 900 m in just 8.7 km average gradient of 99.6% with the steepest section 15% there’s a 1.1 km tunnel near the start and it has a whopping 27 hairpin Corners you actually can’t really see it when you’re at the ground level here you have no idea where it goes so you can’t see any of the switchbacks right now and we’ve got a tunnel coming up as well so it’s um yeah it’s not as appealing down here as it is in the in the photos but hopefully we get a bit higher up then we’ll see [Music] something so that’s why we have a drone with us [Music] [Music] [Music] last time I came here I had a small cheap drone and I didn’t dare fly it out this time I had something a little bit bigger and oh boy did I get what I [Music] [Applause] wanted number 15 number 20 number 22 I think that was number 204 but I don’t know I think this one’s 24 I think no this one is definitely 24 I think number 27 coming up nope I was wrong there’s two more there need to learn how to count it’s so quiet up here there’s no wind it’s a magnificent road to cycle this all the way along it to sadal it’s about 80 it’s about 88 K I think around 80 k and uh here’s a part where you have to go down into the valley then back up again it’s incredibly tough on the bike but I mean look at this place it’s awesome here awesome do you remember the Rockman from The Never Ending Story I think like this would be his paradise here cuz it is just the most rockiest Barren place ever and I don’t know everybody has this fetish of making these uh canes I don’t know it’s like what’s going on here but my favorite very [Music] tasty look at this place man no one here and we’re like 80 km from of anger yeah no way you are the most unique country this is a dream to [Music] cycle so that’s it guys a little snippet of Lisa Fjord and loop you can find all the information on cycl norway. comom and just remember guys this is just one of many amazing Loops you can cycle here in Norway and if you cycle this one this 1. Thanks for another episode of great cycling scenes! On my Fjord Norway trip last year I really wanted to do a detour from Stavanger in order to cycle the loop, but I was too spent after all the vertical meters the days before (And the wheather was not so good anyways. It would have simply ended one of those bad reviews – just kidding 😅).

    2. I could watch these views for 10 hours. 10 minutes just isn't enough. Great to see you're back out and away from website development (which is fab too).

    3. Great to have you back. BUT how can I hire a bike and do these rides, I live 15,000km away. I wanted to do the ride to Voss, but its impossible to hire a bike.
Do you have any recommendations as I am keen, but not so keen on shipping my own bike across the world on various airlines.
Or is the a good way to buy a bike and sell it at the end of the trip. Thanks

    4. You really do sell Norway (in a positive way) Matthew, and your humourous clips in the editing are great!
Thanks for another great video 🚲🙂👍
