this is the bike that could well win this year’s tour to France it’s t pacha’s colago V4 RS when you get to take a close look at this bike there are some really cool details which I’ll get on to later in this video uh first up though I’ll go through the frame set and the wheels and the more obvious Parts in the bike as mentioned this is karo’s V4 RS which uat memorate and Pacho himself have been using for the past couple of Seasons not quite as aerodynamic looking as some of the other bikes used in the Pro pellon right now but it clearly goes very fast for Pacha himself uh the wheels that are currently on the bike just ahead of the Tor France they are Envy’s 4.5 sces now interestingly these wheels were first developed for use at Parry Ru and the riggers of the cobblestones of northern France there’s been a few iterations since and they now describe them as their allrounder wheel set so capable on the climbs in the mountains but also quite aerodynamic on the flat they have an internal rim width of 25 mm and when combined with these tires which are Continental gr Prix 530 mm it makes the tires look huge I mean it’s a long time since I race as a Pro 15 years to be precise we had a maximum of 25 mm with much narrower rims these ones look ginormous to me particularly when you look down from the top of the bike the group set is provided by Shimano and obviously it’s their latest dur a di2 electronic group Set uh 12-speed but there are a few deviations away from the Standard Group set I think most notably these chain Rings which are provided by a company called carbon tie you can see it uh chiseled out basically at the top here with UAE Emirates written at the bottom 4 to Inner chain ring 5 to Outer chain ring which I understand is quite standard for tday pagat in most road races uh that is combined to a rear cassette 12-speed of course which is 11 to all the way up to 34 it’s not just the chain rings that carbon ties Supply uh it’s also the through axles to save further weight and indeed the disc rotors so 160 at the front and 140 at the rear and when you look closely at the rotors you’ll notice there’s a different supplier absolute black who supplied the disc brake pads and they’ve got this weird sort of netted piece of metal that comes out the top Ole Bridgewood was having to tell me about what this is apparently it helps to dissipate the heat ready for the mountainous descent Etc and they cost an absolute fortune and a couple of other small details the bottom bracket is made by a company called bike one I assume that it’s lighter than the standard bottom brackets you would get for this Frame Set uh whilst the rear hanger here is provided by frames and gear uh look that up online and understand that that is also lighter and stiffer than your standard hanger on this particular frame so we know patcha likes his bikes to be pretty much bang on the uci’s minimum limit of 6.8 kilos and I think all these slight changes versus the norm are helping him to get very close to that up at the top of the bike we have this prologo Sal it’s the Nago r41 147 and you’ll notice that it’s pushed reasonably far forward on the rails I think that needs leads me nicely on to Pat’s position on his bike which has changed over the last couple of season so I’ll start with the crank length 165 mm which is exceptionally short compared to what the norm was just a few years ago but we know that the trend is towards shorter cranks as mentioned he’s go settle fairly far forward I did take a measurement from the center from the tip of the saddle here to the center of the cranks it’s around about 9 cm we go to the bars at the front uh we have a onepiece stem and bar combination also provided by Envy the stem itself is a 130 mm Center to Center you can see it slammed in terms of the width well if I measur them from the very base of the drops here it’s 40 cm exactly if I measure them from the slightly inward turned hoods right at the tip of those hoods it’s only 32 CM so 320 mm fairly standard again for modern bike Riders few other measurements that I’ve taken uh it’s 85 CM from the center of the top part of the bars here down onto the floor from the saddle down to the front part of the bars there’s a drop of around 14 cm from the tip of the saddle up towards the center of the bars at the front here of the stem that measures 53 1/2 CM whil from the center of the cranks up to where I presume pagat are purchases bum that is 7 3.5 CM so on to some of the Finishing Touch of this bike uh U memores are provided with bead on by Elite uh they use the Wahoo element Series so pagat himself has gone for the more Slimline Wahoo element bolt there at the front uh it’s a Shimano power meter that’s on the cranks here as well and I’ve also noticed that carbon tie also provide the top cap and bolt at the top of the stem here another detail is here on the seat post where there is some fine sand paper stuck on uh presumably to reduce the risk of the seat post slipping down whilst racing pagat also has the shifters down here on the drops so that he can change gears while sprinting or indeed down descents but the final piece you’re probably wondering about when you look at this he’s got a picture of a mini Hulk at the very tip of his stem I asked his press officer Luke Maguire what that was all about and he simply said when he looks at it it gives him strength I might put one on the front of my stem and see if it does the same thing for me I very much doubt it anyway let me know in the comments what you think about this bike uh let me know anything I’ve missed go easy on me though because it’s the first Pro bike I’ve done in 5 years and I know the olle and Alex have taken it up another level over those last few years I’ve thoroughly enjoyed looking at this bike and all the details within it we’ll be back soon with more Pro bike so stay tuned for them

Gotta do the waxed chain check Dan!
40t inner 50t outer? You sure?
short cranks…. could they allow riders to get more from their calves. ie. the distance moved is less so a bigger proportion could come from dorsi flexion
you wouldn't like him if he was angry
real hulk size hulk sticker won't even help me the slightest, let alone the mini one 😅
if it had rim brakes it would be perfect.
frame size?
Hulk smash!
Is this the first year Campagnolo is completely absent from the TdF?
I can beat that on my 10speed Raleigh Racer from the 1980s 😮
Who is Richard Mille?
Thanks for the measurements Dan now I can setup my bike exactly as pogacar's
Must be nice when every company who makes super light and super expensive parts wants them put on your bike. Good Luck Tadej.
Finally measurements are back, not just the laundry list of components…well done!
Or the Cervelo🦋🦋🦋
You forgot to weight it 😬
30mm Conti, i guess that means he is not using the "TT" version of the tires (which i think their largest is 28mm).
That’s a proper bike. No gimmicks. No whacky tubing shapes. No over engineered bottom bracket or headtube marketing nonsense. No wild ‘look at me at the back’ paint schemes. just an out and out proven race wining bike. class.
im pretty sure the nose of the saddle is not 9cm behind the bottom bracket. this is a zero offset seatpost and its shoved forwards a lot, i think its more at the limit to 5cm
Given the name of the company making the chainrings is Carbon-Ti, is it safe to assume the outer part with the teeth is made from Titanium bonded to a carbon plate that attaches to the crank? And to be sure what number of teeth the chainrings are (55/40, not "50/40") just read what's printed on them (just below the rear end of the front derailleur). Also, the added parts do not "deviate away (from the groupset)", they just deviate since "to deviate" already means "to go away from".
crazy how cycling trends change over the years. 165 cranks are wildly short for a rider that height in the real world, but best believe there will be people copying that.
No, Vingegaard will surprise everyone and win his third Tour on the trot
It is interesting to see all teams working with different bike manufacturers/makes.
No bike has ever won the Tour de France.
Bikes don't win races.
