The Michelin Le Mans Cup takes place on some of Europe’s most iconic circuits and is now the first step into the world endurance racing for the young stars of tomorrow.

    The Le Mans Cup grid features 42 cars, divided into two classes: LMP3 and GT3. The series takes place on some of the best European circuits, as part of the European Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Each race weekend, competitors enter two free practice sessions, one more session is dedicated to FIA-ranked « Bronze » drivers, followed by the qualifying sessions, one per class, before the start of the 1 hour 50 minutes race.

    [Music] [Music] hello good morning and welcome to a sunny but cold and blustery Lamont no it’s not March it is Midsummer week but we are ready nevertheless for race two of road to Lemon the third race weekend in six of the M Leon cup the ground Lev starting platform on the ladder that takes you up potentially to the 24 hours of Lamont so first uh final race of the weekend for our cars and drivers cars competing in two different categories in lmp3 and in GT3 as you saw the temperatures are low both in the air and on track and that was the case as well on Thursday with the first race race of the weekend qualifying had been dominated by cool racing they locked out the front row of the grid with raldi putting two cars on row two it was James swam the polean who led into the first turn but already on the move was torst and Katz in the second of the ronaldi racing cars the wgm by ronaldi Machine they were regular competitors in the michand Theon Cup last season and the season before but uh in Elms this year making a one-off return torsson Katz took the lead of the race into the first corner with the number 77 car from th racing Aldren Goodmanson coming up from Row three of the grid not everybody had quite as much success DK DKR engineerings number three machine was in trouble a couple of times and then there was a safety car early in the race problems including crash damage and punches for some and behind the safety car the full field making their pit stops three cars had stopped earlier a lap earlier and those three GT3 cars a Ferrari from AF corser and two Aston Martins initially led the field away but they’ll be penalized for stopping under a red flag or under a pit lane closed situation nevertheless they were not to hold the lead of course as the quicker LMP through threes came through the wtm by ronaldi machine now in the hands of its second driver taking the lead and then a massive accident for Lou Rossy brought out an instant red flag fortunately the driver was able to walk away AOK nothing remained of his car and about 45 minutes of barrier repairs were required so the race effectively had one green flag lap and as a result half of the normal points allocation which is half points anyway was awarded so the race winner for all their efforts got quarter points however they did win race one at Lamar and among the teams uh getting ready now in the pit Lane the younger iron Dames combination about everybody else ready to go and greme Goodwin today’s grid should have been set by the times set by the second driver in qualifying but there was no real qualifying uh for the second drivers so the grid is the most Topsy Turvy pairing of cars you could Poss imagine it is set by times in free practice 2 after a couple of red flags interrupted that is the rhgp 85 Duan that ISS on Pole Position from raldi racing 66 par. lar high class racing neon racing row2 the race winning W10 by ronaldi Duan on Race on Row three alongside the adex sport car writer engineering team verage racing Spirit Lon and hero International complete the top 10 before we get for much much much deeper into a 50 plus car grid Martin and into the gt3s should be 56 cars on the grid one of them didn’t go out at all on Thursday the racing Spirits lmp3 car which pier CFA should start um there’s also being not just uh a mixing of the established order because it went down to practice laps and practice is not about going as quickly as possible it’s about well predominantly allowing your drivers to get a feel for the car on the track uh but also um more than half a dozen cars were sent to the back of the grid by stew decisions uh at the front of the field in the GT3 categories the 88 AF corser car ctio too starts that they were third in the race second in the race was the 51 AF course of Ferrari that starts on Row three of the GT3 field the Black Thorn ason there almost stole a march by pitting right at the very beginning of the safety car un for them um the pit lanane was not actually open so they ended up being penalized right to the back of the field and way out the very back of the order the car that finished second overall for an Aldi racing that starts 53rd and the kessle racing Ferrari that one in GT3 starts 55th so some work to do for drivers who have maybe got point in race one but as Z Zan gets a bit of a look at the new Podium where he’ll be uh helping to flag this the the main race away later it’s an astonishing turnout on track Martin 50 plus cars across the lmp3 and gg3 grids uh this is the starts of the formation lap um and there the yet more social media shinanigans go on but for me the the story of the day is what a turnout for Trackside 32 5,000 people have turned up to watch the road toon and they’ll be staying on for the other race later today inadine San of course the captain of France’s World Cup winning squad one in the final in Paris and uh another Legend of that team Fabian bz a former owner of a race team co-owner of the panis racing team a number of years ago it’s not faban bares it was it was zadin zadan I know that was zadin zadan but also in that team was another talismanic player Fabian bz the goalkeeper who was see now we’re getting into football again and as we know this is dangerous territory what with the World Cup having started last night with Scotland winning 5-1 over Germany apologies to everybody in Scotland who’s just jolted awake the what now what no it it it rather went the other way unfortunately it wasn’t sorry Scotland a little bit of you as ever allowing others to have a chance say say sorry I think that’s the way it is so our LM GT3 our GT3 cars and the lmp3 cars uh effectively the field starting with all the LMP threes in Brackets who haven’t been penalized closed brackets ahead of the gt3s and then behind the main GT3 field uh will be those who have been penalized which are half a dozen lmp3 cars and in fact a GT3 car as well Castle Racing’s uh number 12 car which had a penalty and unfortunately for them as it said they were the car that won yes uh Thursday’s race so there is the great man himself all smiles AB looking forward to his ceremonial role later today I think so why wouldn’t you be I think it’s a great opportunity to to to really see it first and a very different sport to one that he understands Evan Muller there uh suited and booted for his M racing Squad and great to see him and then back in at the sharp end as well Martin now strictly speaking am rcing isn’t Ian’s team strictly speaking it’s his partner team they’ve got a lovely dog I I often pop by the motor home just to say hello to the dog fulltime World touring car champion of course Ivan Müller and uh his sister Kathy also a race winner up to Formula 3000 so Kathy Müller a very very successful racing driver and it’s her son Yan aak who is a three-time wtcr world champion as just Hing aren’t they I mean prodigious Talent prodigious talent in that family uh the brother and sister Ian and Kathy Kathy the older of the two and in fact Ian was saying that uh he really only got into Motorsport being dragged along to when his sister was racing which is quite a reversal I think of of the way it works with uh with most families refreshing one at that the iconic site down the unod a with a train of cars back into the GT3 field at the back here but it is something around what is it 40 uh lmp3 cars initially on the entry we have lost a couple um through the shenanigans that have uh have uh rather pockmarked proceeding so far this week indeed uh the car that starts on Pole Position instent the r rgp machine car number 85 that is our overall Championship leading car now those guys have had a very successful season so far in the opening round in Barcelona they finished second they finished third in laast didn’t I beg pardon they are no longer the points leaders they were the points leaders coming in here didn’t score yesterday on Thursday in race one and so aen Kia and David Drew who are in the cool racing enry number 97 um they finished fourth place yesterday uh they do not start well up the field though and that car will be a long way back and that means that RS gp’s uh Fabian Mel and uh Adrian David have a great opportunity to wrestle back the points lead and after this the Midway point of the season a further three race weekends including W in the as yet unexplored by this Championship Mello in Italy it’s going to be um a big homecoming for an awful lot of Ferrari driving we we’ve got used over the last B about a decade Martin on the morning of the 24 hours of Leon to this soundtrack The Low Rumble vissan V8 it will be the last time we have it that’s because at the end of this year uh we will switch the formula of lmp2 to a brand new engine from Turbo V6 based on a to unit and new cars to come with it the first of those the Le the new le jsb 325 on display here but also to follow uh upgraded cars from Ducane and from Janetta um bumped into one of my old friends from Janetta days past uh in the fan Village last night Sam Tomlinson no relation by the way to Lawrence uh but uh good to see him on good form but uh let’s hope we see just is healthy grid a bit more diversity across the chassis in in the future years janeta firm part of the first year at the road to Lamont yeah very much in the early days of lmp3 their chassis was one of the preferred but uh in more recent years the luier chassis has come to prominence and the former Norma chassis which is very much a PR Runner which has got the more dished nose notice some of the cars coming towards you have got a sort of traditional right rounded cave knows the normas have got a convex so lead car is Li second car is a Norma now a Duane yeah absolutely right so 22 car there on the F of guard and this is a mix of the Four Season entries from the M the mon cup supporting European mon series but a number of the ls lmp3 also in this race because of course there’s no place for o 3 on the grid at 24 hours of come on proper they come round towards onage I’m being mther by former British Bob sleder and coach Tom Delah huny who reminds me that his nephew Tommy Foster takes over car number 20 the high class racing entry uh at the Midway point of this race so um in the in the probably very high chance that we won’t see that pit stop I’ll give him a shout out now we’ll see what happens with with the high class car a little later in the race they do start third yeno Mulla is the man at the wheel of the car the first driver should have gone in qualifying one start race one the second name driver qualifying race two starting race two but of course as we said uh the second qualifying didn’t really happen so um those times set in free practice have set our grid we’re coming now down into the Porsche curves leaving the old road circuit behind there at the top of the picture the road track goes off on the right hand side or let’s say the public road goes off on the right hand side through the maon blanch section up to the pit Lane and now they’re moving into 2 by two formation lining up in their grid positions which they left the collecting area in 10 minutes ago and getting ready for the rolling start of this race 13 laps is the allotted Race distance but it will be time certain I.E if there are any delays the clock will still run it’s bright it’s Breezy there’s a huge crowd waking up to this sound this Fury of the road to Lon Race 2 it’s about to get underway let’s hope for a quick one and a safe one Martin Haven if they’ve woken up to this sound then they’re a lot luckier than us and weren’t woken by the helicopters or any of the other noises that are around leamar early on race day we are ready to go racing the penultimate race of the weekend for fans here at lamon is the road to lamon Race 2 it is their final encounter this weekend let’s see where we go rsgp on Pole Position Fabian mckl with Steve perro for raldi racing alongside him in second place then Yen Reno Müller on row two for high class and Tony wells look for the number seven neelson car white nose blue sides Tony WS very experienced here behind him our race one winner toron RS the red and white of wtm by ronaldi they come to the rolling start 56 cars are underway at road to Lear Tony Wells already trying to insinuate himself through the front row he’s on the inside the white car with the blue nose alongside him is toon cratz contact between the two front uh second row starters Katz has a big lockup up and a little bit of confusion Tony Wells getting shuffled back down the order and it does look like Fabian michl managed to get his nose in front AF corser first and second on the grid with their Ferraris but lots of pushing and shoving there the number seven neelson racing car of Tony Wells down to sixth position after that first corner but it is Fabian Mel who leads yeah there’s trouble as well a near disaster for their racing car the inside going chain but did manage to get through bit of a Nerf to the rear of chy wells’s the racing car from the racing on off behind here they come down the first seor of the n a side by side to ands going by TOS andrz moving up into second place a third place ahead of H felber in that number 50 riter engineering car that blue car did not finish the race on Thursday he was left stranded at the side of the track so up to third place is Thursday’s race winner in the lmgt3 field initially it was racing Spirit to lemons Aston Martin that took the advantage but that’s now been passed and the GT3 leader is manio to yeah the m2s racing machine stuck in the gravel and the Marshalls immediately saying we’re going to need a lift and toe and that means the safety car will greet them And So It Begins 56 cars with a variety of different driving abilities some will be very new to the sport and endurance racing but uh that is not the case here now I would suggest that is the car at least as much as uh the mv2 car that will need a bit of a help yeah that’s had some help from the rear that’s the 62 Breton racing car let’s take a look as they fan out Six Wide at the start everybody looking for a bit of ground look at the car the in the central picture now they will like blue car across the grass wild ride there for the M racing car and then the contact you described Martin that involved toon cats and he was looking to get away with that yeah you see the black marks the tire left on the curbs there and aha GT3 Porsche being shoved off is the Mercedes mot park car and then made it made contact with the number 14 well nearly did didn’t it I think the 14 managed to open the steering up enough just to avoid that Mercedes collateral damage that was the get speed car Steve yance there’s toron Katz on the curs no real grip there he was lucky to get get away with that and Tony Neil uh Tony wells in the neelson car obviously saw the danger and had to open the steering as well and he ran off straight through the chicane awful lot of cars doing just that and again there’s the 95 um Aston Martin that briefly took the lead right at the beginning and there was contact from behind that’s the your International car on the rear of Kristoff cres think it the 291 that’s jeen Deo in the 3 your International and you’re right it was Kristoff cresp who started that car and again they’ve done plenty of the M cut races he’s back underway well he is a full season Contender the EUR International car isn’t it’s an Elms car with a different crew here so that’s bad news from M V2s bad news as well for Bret on racing first time entrance here this year from the Czech Republic a bit of shaking head that’s the get speed team well they did get away with with that without getting uh sto in and their GT3 car is in sixth place in a category so what about yesterday’s winners let’s see how far did Castle Racing’s number 12 car move up the order it got past one car Frederick J and the car that won GT3 yesterday and that started on the last row of the grid a row ahead of them the 71 uh ronaldi racing car Stefan a similarly got past just one rival car in the um probably kilometer of action before the safety car came out y so race Patrol opting to keep things neat and tidy calm everybody down let’s not have one incident leading to another to another to another it was a somewhat hectic and interrupted race one for Road to Lon words will have been said in that Paddock I’m absolutely certain about it it was not the best advertisement for the michelan the mon Cup on Thursday no only one green flag lap unfortunately safety car will come in at the end of this lap so the marshals have done plenty of gravel sweeping up this weekend up at the Dunlop chicane and I don’t doubt there will be a degree more to sweep up before the big one is over the lon 24 hours rsgp Fabian mckl leads the que from yens Rena Müller in the high class race number 20 car toron Katz lies third yesterday’s Thursday’s winner horse felber fourth in the writer engineering car head of Christoff lapier racing Spirits lemon KH number 10 and Tony wells in the neelson machine in GT3 po Man custodio Too leads for AF corser Shalon re in the 82 AF corser Ferrari is second so Ferrari one to third racing Spirit of Leon in there Aston Martin is Derek dor the man who started that car yesterday so you are ready to go again Fabian ml there he is with agent David waiting in the pit Lane uh this young driving lineup looking to reclaim the points lead but secondary of course to actually winning at leemon and standing on that magnificent Podium he gets away very well indeed Grand Goodwin ideal restarting by Fabian Mel beautifully judged high class racing no answer to that one and if anything to and CS is closing in on the second place car side by side team Ricardo Gracia filo on Tony Wells goes by neatly done there oh and has to really rain it in Wells coming back at him over the brow under the Dunlop bridge and yeah the virage car with the yellow nose a bit squirmy on cold tires the tires will still be pretty chilly there’s the team Thor car Alden Goodmanson again starting that car he’s started race one and this is under pressure here from Jamie faly he’s been some who a star this season in that 44 car looking for a way by the Icelandic flaged car also run by Away by racing side by side now though yeah s c goes through it goes through pretty easily there on the number 20 car yeah y trer Miller swapping to lmp3 from GT3 he raced uh GT3 NSA Hondas a couple of seasons and now up to lmp3 but toron crats very experienced and uh really having a good time in that car big lock up is that the M racing car that was the M racing car uh but also by the way though it’s the your International car sorry but so making progress for a moment there but I think overdoing it in the chicade on gson almost sandwich between the two other Leakes they has to drop back may up three places lost four yeah Tony Wells is the lead white node car there and just ahead of him is MIL capanu for Euro International the blue car with the red highlights down the inside the team vage car Jamie FS up another spot nicely judged yeah great overtake there high risk but High reward he gets out of the second chicane is’s getting onto the tail now as to the inside and all over the shoulder of the track here’s the racing car yeah Romano Richi on Tony Wells Wells had to change line in theane lost a place going in losing a place coming out that was the P guas racing 23 Ferrari from Spain also seeing saw team virage Raphael narak son of raymon narak in the pit Lane and I think that car is going no further so we’ve lost three cars now from our original starting 56 race leader still Fabian ml from rhgp toron CR up to second now but with a near 3 second disadvantage there’s CR in 22 third place against Rena Müller the blue car his horse Fel then Kristoff lapier hav’t mentioned his name that’s racing SP of lemon’s number 10 car and right behind is team verage the orange and yellow Ricardo grao second of the barage CS looking for way up the inside there inage of the EUR International car but no way through this is the castle racing 74 the 91 for Blackthorne this is the end of the race for the 23 car now why he went over the gravel but why didn’t seem to have flat tires made just to be a little bit of contact so the team vage cars with the yellow orange and gray currently running in Sixth and eighth and between between them mil capanu so that’s where we’re identifying that sixth seventh and eighth place battle Ninth Place and then 10th two blue and white cars the first is Tony Wells for neelson behind him alen Goodmanson and Ian agilera for RRM Sports had a very successful team in Lon Cup racing the Aguilera having a first crack here it this level moving up from the Lee European Series where he’s been a contender for RRM sport the last couple of years slow zone now these are unique to Lamar they oh and there are lots of driv who are unaware that a yellow flag and a slow zone mean everybody will be coming down to 80 km an hour that for the rest of the season these drivers do not encounter slow zones slow zones are yellow flag region there you go again that was contact that was contact to the rear of the leading Ferrari from the second place car yeah completely una a way was coming into a slow zone so Julian L man l in the lmp3 car did the right job but unfortunately the two AF of course of Ferraris that was charl hry San Le lost a bit of that car he’s now got a loose nose so unfortunately rhgp getting ready for a pit stop 11 laps still to go we are on lap three and unfortunately for the car that was the victim of that he’s got a full lap he’s through the slow Zone and away they go again yeah and Euro Internationals mil capanu made up a spot I think there on Ricardo graci filo uh no he didn’t he managed to hold off the team verage car so it’s important that you bring your speed down but it’s also equally important that you get on the gas when it goes green that I think yes sh samon in the 88 a corer car has looped it round at the Dunlop chicane yes sadly for AF corser that was the impact from the Ms car on one of the full season cars and in real trouble here he’s not going to get that back I think he may have spun on his own fluid and it his Dash is probably lighting up like a Christmas tree very wisely Parks it oh he was helped around by another AF corser Ferrari surely that was the 51 car yeah the 51 car has in the the further car on the right hand side and the 51 car the car just out of shot there that made the impact just there mat keski that is the car that came here as the GT3 points leaders oh goodness this weekend as ever long on drama and for most very short on points well two instance that cost ferraria one 123 just now the 88 Ferrari that has got damaged to the rear but the get speed AMG is now up to second with the TV the car was in trouble on lap one remember l in the proon hu competition Porsche of the 73 car ches the fourth the team vage car Ricardo graia filer just jumped horse ferire down into Mulan Corner obviously got a very good run out of that second chicane and uh the incident between the two Ferraris will be investigated it did rather look like six of one and half a dozen of the other neither of them really responded properly to the slow Zone and one ran into the other so uh they should not have been in that situation there is the get speed Mercedes in second place proton Hoover competitions Manuel l in third and there is the GT3 leader the yellow and red Ferrari or the red Ferrari with the yellow no custodio Toledo so this is the battle for second Mercedes ahead of Porter and then catching Derek the bur in the first of the Aston Martins and we’ve got Gino foron also in that battle for the top five very much in it slippery surface flags being shown at Marshall post three that’s the very start of the lap where that coolant was going down from uh Char Charlie samman’s stricken Ferrari somewhat self-imposed as the Euro International C goes at the inside of the racing Spirit of lam monar Jamie faly now goes to the outside and that was very tight indeed there that was some great racing into the Porsche curves these cars not only make a great sound they do produce decent damage down Force as well and there melber working very hard under that pressure to hold performance this is a really strong battle you’re International racing Spirit Alm both team vage cars in there as well and they’re trying to chase down horse felber who’s in fifth position contact in the battle for six double contact J FY round the outside oh and gets clipped again Y and that’s really tough because when you come through the chicane there’s so little room and a car sitting stranded there Jamie FY the tank car in trouble as well the car that did come together with Jamie faly has stopped just before the start Finish Line they’re out of it as well the number 10 that’s Kristoff lapier meanwhile CD Sports yellow and red putting the pressure on Tony wells in the neelson entry and the CD sport car Christian short was ahead of Wells at the line Wells has retaken the position through the Dunlop curve into the Dunlop chicane sweeping down through the ‘s leaving the yellow flags behind them and there’s a replay of was there contact at all in the CH no I don’t think there was I mean there was contact there nose to nose but that I think Jamie faaly carried in a fraction more speed than the car could handle I think you’re right this is where the further contact took place and there’s Tony Wells getting that place back but right behind is that the M racing car again no that’s the EUR International 3 International 31 you’re right Jean Rene Deo yeah I think Jamie faly there was not contact in that replay we saw we’ve got further trouble uh at the very end of the lap car in the gravel it is the 57 car by the look of things there is Ivan Müller on the radio calm Seb calm where has the M racing car gone to Johan Randy the porno in the 31 Euro International car has not moved safety car has been scrambled again yeah well there is a lot to clear up there is the second of our team vage cars as you can see on the timing pylon 59 car in fourth place now safety car of course means that they will continue at racing speed but there is a white flag which means a slow vehicle on track and the bio gas car ooh hello that has had contact the car that’s in trouble by the way has made it back to the pits after being in the gravel at the for was the second second of the castle racing cars the 57 there it is that’s L Kern and he’s in and out now they may have done a driver change and that that’s the edex sport car the number 17 car in the mat of colors yeah safety car is out 17 car the hands of Patrice Lear yellow flags of course mean that you should be prepared to stop if required but you will go around and catch the safety car however you may not overtake so although they will continue at speed the racing is suspended safety car is waiting at arage now there a safety car car be waiting at the main line the main line uh and the reason for it we’ve just seen is the 17 is in the gravel on the outside of the exit the forane and no way for them to recover that there’s further dramas in the background coming through is the 17 car and obviously contact meaning a a yeah massive water leak and water or coolant could it will be it won’t be water it’ll be uh uh a hygroscopic coolant and that on the tires I’m afraid is an instant spin there’s number six car also in strike in Strife yeah that was clemo Moreno that was the car that made the contact with the number 17 by the look of things and had a little spin behind him as a result but going to take just a little we while for this to get sorted out down there in the pit Lane is the pit reporters de Wentworth and she will be trying to make sentor this for the Highlight show that is produced after every round good luck Steph there’s he I know I know she’s yeah however uh safety car is out now as they come round the pit entry light will be showing pits closed however at the end of the first safety car lap when everybody is in the queue then I suspect we will see all field pit stops uh yeah it’s going to be get very very busy indeed there is the number 10 so we’ve got the 10 car in trouble the six car in trouble the 17 car in trouble that’s what you call a helmet Livery now look at that that’s very hippie Porsche isn’t it yeah but that’s also no one else’s helmet is going to look like that that’s going to stand out as as effectively as a Barbers pole that’s a that’s a great Livery loving that so Patrice lefar waiting for intervention also on the start Finish Line so there’s two reasons why this is a good moment to bring this field back under control what you don’t want to be doing is having your eyes on the car to the outside and avoid any intervention with that only to find part of your way block to the inside so time to just bring down the tempo frustrating for all concerned of course breakfast a crash on and a eight please what no red wine one of the one of the truest moments in Steve McQueen’s leemon film is shots of the the fans in the campsite waking up on Sunday morning and somebody stumbling out of a tent brushing his teeth with a bottle of red wine I thought I’m actually almost literally been there and certainly seen it done in my time here at the hygiene moving on rhgp lead the race nine to go after this one we’re not going to get that 20 minutes on the clock this is going to be a time certain finish the advantage that we have here actually is because of a cancellation of an earlier race we have started this 30 minutes before we were due to so there is an extra 30 minute leeway we might not with a good luck and a following wind and perhaps a little bit better Behavior run out of time well it is let’s just call it as we see it as the uh money to Manu arrives to pick up Patrice far who be getting out the car let’s not call it as we see it let’s be a little bit more diplomatic than that let’s not do that uh Fabian Michelle leads this race for rhgp in the number 85 Duane uh ahead of the wtm by ronaldi racing number 22 in the hands at the moment of toron CRS two de gains one two at the moment hen Reno Müller in the high class racing lier third place for the 20 car ahead of the 59 team verage car of Ricardo gratia filo Mike mil capanu cannot see the pit entry light but I would suspect after yesterday after Thursday’s race race one that it was not open and again both of those Aston Martins came in and were penalized as a result for coming in too early the Black Thorn astons this time only one is in mv2 are in as well Kristoff cresp who was in trouble in the opening lap ANS Motorsports Clore matur is in and out of the pit Lane last Kern was in from a for a different issue but cool Racing’s aun Kia now cool racing are very well-run indeed so if they have pitted I suspect perhaps that the pit Lane entry light was green and the pit lanane was open 44 car Jamie faly by the way will be getting 10 seconds added to what it says is the next pit stop it will be the main pit stop yeah the only Pit Stop hopefully um however Porsche Manuel L looking for a morale boosting team for the team that saw tragedy at the start of this season uh at Barcelona racing SP lons 95 Aston Martin sits in fourth place and competed the top five at the moment in the uh GT3 class AF course’s second Ferrari they’re number 18 the hands of Gino forio sits in fifth place little slow-mo replay of the high class car that lies third in the hands of yens R Müller Tommy Foster will take over at the pit stops and in common with about 45 of the cars they have yet to stop we have had half a dozen pit callers so they have made their pit stops safety car I’m sure will stay out for a further lap um so it is currently on its way down towards Mulan Corner Fabio michl and Adan David the teenager Adan David in this car rsgp new to Lon Cup racing this year but a very experienced single seater uh outfit and they have really hit the ground running those guys came here with the points lead after the first two rounds of the championship yeah the young man that’s about to take over in the rsgp car has been revelat this season almost too quick at this level and they have had time penalties against their driver great readings uh at earlier races this season more fans arriving track side well there’s an indication of what the weather is like it looks lovely but people wrapped up in blankets it has been very it’s been unseasonably cold there is Tommy Foster ready to take over this the third place car it has been unseasonably cold this weekend Anthony bone yeah the son of a drag racing legend for the United States and he’s beginning his journey in GT3 racing in Europe with multi- platformed uh campaigns with get speed and beginning to see success as well yeah Berton racing a very big name in uh HR da drag racing HD NH NH even yes yeah not not a historic NH I was there gradually easing my way in I was impressed not very so safety guard remains out under half an hour to go by the way with what is now being shown as a timed race yeah we are not being told that the safety car will come in this lap and that means the safety car will stay out another lap I think race director Alan Adam uh car number 10 cannot rejoin the race well now when you’ve had to um scramble a safety car to rescue the car then yeah we’re bringing it back to the pit Lane for you cuz we’re nice people what we’re not going to let you do is rejoin the race bourier by the way for the b cup um should be in the chair Alan ad has of course been in race control with the Lamborghini super tro an array of race control Talent should be allowed should it all that Talent just to one seat it really should especially given the uh the a huge amount of pressure and huge amount of on track time being consumed in this lemon 24 hours I was going to say week but of course it’s start started on Sunday so it’s more than a week started on Sunday with the official Theon [Music] test don’t forget that after the roach lemon race we have morning warm up for the lon 24 hours a bre brief 15minute period that will we’ll be on air from 11 Central European summertime that’s 10 if you’re watching in UK Portugal or Ireland and 0900 greenage meantime wherever are you else you are watching that’s when we will start our coverage of morning warmup in which as the sadly missed Q Chamberlain always said nothing good ever happens it’s astonishing I was thinking about Hugh just 2 minutes before you said that he’s going to be one of those characters from the 24 hours Alon who is so sorely missed we lost Hugh just a few weeks ago um always well what a character well two of the great characters from my very earliest years here Hugh Chamberlin and Neville hay commentator and Bon vver uh TV company production founder uh both passed away recently and uh yeah both very much part of the furniture here and uh in a lot of other races but this is uh this is the place where I often remember Hugh Chamberlain and particularly uh most recently Neville ha as well so the field will come in five or six cars have already pitted all of them they coming in so Stephie you can be ready for this yeah get the tin helmet on um I will explain as we watched the cars coming down pit Lane at the moment I did mention tragedy for the proton hooer competition uh Team uh they lost their team manager in a terrible accident in The Paddock for setup for the preseason test at Barcelona Garda remembered by everybody in that padic and of course by the team and they will be looking for on track success to remember him here in particular oh and there indeed is the 73 car almost being reversed into by the raldi uh Le yeah it’s going to be a very very packed pit Lane and there is a minimum stationary time for safety reasons for all of these pit stops so you can’t come in set a phenomenally quick pit stop time and gain a huge time advantage on your Rivals what you can do is be too slow and give it all away the iron Dames Lamborghini has been picked up by the safety car that was one of the cars that came in and stopped they have not stopped they’re the only car that has chosen not to stop there are a couple of cars behind the safety car that were part of the early stopping uh cohort but the iron D is in the hands of s Martin dear I think that’s a that’s a massive mistake oh dear now I wonder if she did not but I mean she was in the queue she must have seen everybody coming in in front of her yeah um now are they gambling on the fact that the safety car will not come in for a further lap I can’t understand why they would do that nothing we can see that suggests it will stay out for one more lap in fact everything that we’ve seen so far suggests that it was possibly ready to be released or to be uh pulled back in at the end of this lap but you having having allowed some cars to pit you want to allow the entire field to pit and again have no information to say whether or not the early pit Stoppers m2s black thorns kessle and cool racing and team virage no information to say whether or not the pit Lane entry light was Green at that stage big loser by the way in that pit stop Shenanigans was the EUR International C dropped right down the order right the mix of things but lost I think six seven places looking at the pit stop times as well there going to be one or two teams I think in some trouble here having a look at the start of the race again cars are being told to close the gaps behind the safety car meanwhile so it will come in this lap well it was all very close at the start Tor and cratz from row two eased onto the curbs by Tony Wells they both just got away with that Tony Wells actually ironically lost a lot of ground as Katz came across his nose and then it was almost a Mercedes double whammy there both nearly got knocked out you’re International M racing uh trying to make room for themselves but TSS and cratz that was a big heart in the mouth moment somehow managed to gather it all up as he slid sideways across the curbs and rejoined and again as ever with so many cars running at such close performance levels into the first chicane from a rolling start not everybody had hot tires not everybody had hot enough breaks I’m sure there were a lot of grab in braks there as well as fast moving Machinery yeah one I think is going to be in trouble after this Pit Stop Cycle and that is the m2s car the number 28 car FL gak is uh a minute sorry a second under two minutes yes and I think it’s a 2 minutes bogey time this by the way was the instant following the slow Zone coming in Charlie s seemed to be caught out by that he impacted the rear of what is still the leading car so it looks like uh that cars escaped on scath the number 88 AF cor car but certainly was not the case for Charlie samani the 82 car spinning on what looked like its own coolant and being hit as well by the 51 car as it did so yeah he run into the back of the second place car in GT3 when he was in third as they locked up very hard and very late into the slow Zone again as we said Slow zones operate here at leemon but they do not operate anywhere else in the michan Leon Cup calendar and as a result a number of the drivers particularly those who are new to the series completely caught out despite all the briefings despite all the briefing notes When You’re In the Heat of the racing it doesn’t always help now the race Q or the queue behind the safety guard led by selia Mar in that iron Dames Lamborghini but it has not stopped yeah we still need to see Karen Gard the second drive in that car I’m struggling to think that’s anything other than a mistake by our drive or team but because everybody else has stopped at least once we’re still got a couple of cars on Bit Lane including the gy by T2 racing 68 car they seem to be having problems getting the driver safely into the car trouble for this car they get the car released quickly they shouldn’t lose out too badly here but no sign that’s happening immediately rocking it backwards and forwards is it not starting I think that’s the issue it’s not starting is it I think the door was open not because the driver wasn’t in but because they were trying to see what he was saying on the dash rocking it backwards and forwards there often is trying to get the the the starter to engage not allow not allowed to push out that car by the way safety C they I think they were running for a supplementary battery cuz the batteries in these are about as powerful as a a a so they tank over the engine once or twice and that’s about the end of it then you put in the slave battery to give it a bit more oomph the same way you would jump use a jump pack on a on a road car but Frid if they do rejoin they’re going to be a long way back you see this massive queue of cars everybody weaving to try and build a bit of heat into the carcass of the tire well ironically Mart at the moment if we assume the IR damers have made a big error here and it looks as if they have mvts race Rings 29 leads the race having been one of those early pit Stoppers that car was stationary by the side of the track on that one yeah black Thorns Aston Martin well black Thorns Aston Martins were second and third behind the safety car in race one when they were released and they ended up being penalized and dropped way out of any points have they got it right this time I think you’re absolutely right there’s K I think the I think the iron Dames somehow have managed to out fumbled themselves here safety car still out on track of course we’re waiting to hear that it’s going to be coming in this lap and I see Zero reason why it shouldn’t again we may not be seeing work that is going out on on track cooling the stter motor yeah and and yeah it’s it’s not that they didn’t get the driver in it’s there is a reluctance to progress so hegley by T2 racing I’m sure they’d love to get Marcel umra out even just to have some laps even if he’s a lap back because of course that’s what the drivers have come for is to drive at Lamar and he may not even have had laps in the first race 18 and 1 half minutes to go in look now timed race we do call this things as formula bomb because it often is it’s been a little more contained than it was on Thursday which was real wild west stuff is that possibly because the safety car came out earlier I think so although it was it was quite early we were very early in the race when the pit stop started sa in this safety car in this lap that is indeed the voice ofier yeah well there we go safety car in this lap so I’m afraid the iron Dames Salia Mara in that magenta Lamborghini let’s not call it pink it is properly M isn’t it it’s a magenta Lamborghini and she will well what can you do you either die for the pits now and try and give your co- driver as much time as you can oh there’s the hegle by T2 racing car finally started is he going to be able to get out before that green light goes off I think he might just oh it’s going to be very close safety car up to the chicane and Celia Maran comes down the pit Lane she follows the safety car in and I’m afraid that is their race absolutely kibos that was a an error either by team driver or conceivably both m2s lead at the restart Maximus Meyer Lan hanin second for Black Thorn and leading gg3 now and clemo Moreno for ANS then kessle racings uh fre vidani but he’s already been passed by David Drew for cool racing and here comes 22 this is Leonard Vice yesterday’s race winner has to take to the curbs at the Dunlop chicane does not lose ground the one to watch who is going to be a Davido in the Duan currently running sixth overall fourth at lp3 but he has the pace goes around the bascar that’s a lap down now dealing with the castle racing car loocks at the inside as they come down to tet there can’t do it there but will do it on the straight it’s a bit of the Duane meet and a Ferrari sandwich yeah behind with the yellow nose is the next lmp3 car that’s team verage that’s been driv by yasek xela and then Tommy Foster for high class car number 20 right behind he’s got up the inside here looks like he’s got the run on the ukan can he do it he’s got the right line for the first ukan I think he’s done it you know clim oy that is tight three wide and three wide behind and squeez in don’t touch him okay so the 85 goes over the curbs finally had to surrender that a little too late a and David but comes back on just ahead of the number 22 car of Leonard Vice and he’s still attacking down to the second sits in the toe now he comes out wide on the hard shoulder of this public road the n183 lamon tour road every other week of the year this is public Highway and he goes through on the inside this is some epic restart racing here just have to be eyes open eyes on the mirrors as well as eyes ahead here but it is Adrian David goes ahead of Tommy Foster Leon our fights right there in the mix with this two de kaines one leier this bway is the battle for four three lmp3 cars ahead of them at the moment and look at this group 59 team ver C of Oscar B got caught out the he’s right down in that pack he lost about eight or 10 places the lead team Gage car is now in 10th place and the castle racing car that was right at the front of the queue their gg3 car being shuffled down the order you can see the Ferrari there in a mass of lmp3 cars Paul kle racing G3 driver everything is trying to steam past him there he is but it is blackthorn’s Lan hanen leading gg3 now and he is still fourth on the road rsgp Zin David has not yet got to him rsgp high class and wgm by ronaldi and there is m2s your race leader from ANS Motorsport that’s Maximus Meyer being pressured by clemon Moreno and just behind is David Drew and he’s the most experienced to the trio that cool racing car in third might be the one to watch indeed one Trio here being chased by a second Trio we’ve been talking about already they’re being caught by the way by a couple more cars GTH Walden a very late replacement in the background in the fluorescent yellow car for RRM sport but with Colin Noble right on his tail in the team tar you saw the Black Thorn Aston which is not black it’s green but there you go that’s Lan hanen leading GT3 and a Andi did not get by him into the Porsche curves had he done so he would have been gone by now and the high class car Tommy Foster and Leonard Vice in the wtm by ronaldi Machine would have been stuck but all three of them in that battle for fourth place are there they are losing ground though to the lead Trio ooh now they try and squeeze by Lan hanifen into the chicane and for the Aston driver he does not want his race ruined by being tagged by one of these LMP 3s and more trouble for the Fel car the 50 car has gone around and there damage the rear of that car that’s now in the hands of Nicholas Bourn yep and it was horse felm who was parked at the side of the road in part one of Thursday’s race it’s his teammate who’s parked at the side of the road in part two of Saturday’s encounter the double yellows there we’ll wait and see whether or not there’s an intervention possible we have one car is the iron Dam car way behind so race control will be very wary of putting Marshals in line of fire with a car on track and there’s another car off to the inside that is the 27 car yeah plunging racing I think that car is yeah just’s trying to identify who’s in that that is Lewis Hamilton Smith Lou Hamilton Smith MV 2ss and cool racing 1 two three RH GP high class and WM by ronaldi now clear of our GT3 leader and there is David droo they’ve caught the delayed heeli by T2 car that’s the car was struggling to restart after its pit stop and that’s now providing well both potential opportunity with a toe but also a challenge to get by for this leading group yeah cuz that car’s not slow and certainly not slow enough to be easily passed by the orange m2s racing car that is our overall race lead it gets by him now and importantly gets by him into the chicane and that means that his Rivals the number six ANS 97 cool racing car will have to do that again before they get to msan cor preparing for a slow Zone at the Porsche curves that’s the to protect the site where they’re looking to try to recover look at that leaping over the curbs for the felber M car the wrer engineering entered car that’s uh is that not the ANS Motorsport car yeah that’s number six car in second place that’s a very dramatic ride over the chicane that’s the first element of the Ford chicane Adrian David by the way putting in fastest sectors in this race in pursuit of this group and is beginning to close that Gap was 6 seconds now four David Drew set the fastest race lap of all last time round he’s in third place he’s the back of this shot and there is Louie Hamilton Smith another gingerly climbing out the car he’s okay though he’s had contact there’s tire mark on that right side pod now I’m assuming that the direction of travel is from right to left and the car is facing the wrong way he is the exit of the first chicane so may well be actually in the run off in the chicane yeah there’s an awful lot of hard standing there but none of which you want occupied by cars Headly by T2 racing the 68 machine that we saw in the pit Lane that is a lap down so it’s not part of this battle although of course it is because it’s in the way and closing up on this lead Trio they com to the so Zone David Drew caught out just avoided contact with the AMS Motorsport car in front of him that is your lead Trio and the laed car yeah coming into that slow Zone by the way um dramatically closing this Gap you can see there in the background as they’re in the slow Zone at 80 km an hour Adrian David is going to catch this this group Lou Hamilton Smith out of the car and the car being there’s the felber car being pushed away that is in the first element of the Porsche curves we should get back to a Full Green lap pretty soon there there is a gap in the barriers there that should allow for Recovery of that car pretty quickly I think it’s the other one that’s more likely to take time the other car to check out here just behind Leonard Vice is Colin Noble in the team T car he’s dealt with the challenging the car ahead of him and has closed that that next group of three that next group of three is now a group of four and how far back is Wayne Boyd in the he’s right with him nson racing car yeah and so fact agent CH manil has gone by Wayne Boyd maybe accidentally um they are just outside adim clil in the 87 cool racing car that started on hold yesterday that car currently lying in eighth place Ninth Place for Nelson racings Wayne Boyd head of our GT3 leader Lan hanin who is still 10th overall so max berer who spun on lap one then opted to make an early Pit Stop we hope believe uh a pit stop within the window lead this race from Clement Moreno it’s m2s froms Motorsport the number six car another car that early problem then the 97 cool racing leiche of David Drew and trying to close down that lead three Adrian David Tommy Foster Leonard Vice Colin Noble in the next group for rhgp high class racing wtm by ronaldi racing and team tour we’ve got under eight minutes to go yeah the mv2 car that leads the race was started by Kristoff cresp he was turned round wasn’t he on lap one this is the second slow Zone by the way and that is going to be coming to an end in 3 2 1 now we go back to for green racing because that slow Zone has been removed I believe well yellow flags are still there now it’s slow all the way down to the first shuk and that’s why the leader is still going slowly apologies the Porsche curves or in the chicane rather yeah so the uh the Porsche curves and the chicanes are clear and they’re trying to move the 27 car out of the way and that is the P4 racing car of Louis Hamilton Smith so now be behind the barriers so we should soon get back to uh full green racing with those two incident zones have been dealt with well you get a visual clue as to that when those waved yellows are withdrawn nothing yet so down to the 1880 K now we go 7 minutes on the clock GT by the way led by Blackthorne that’s one of the cars that did stop uh early the number 90 car 10th overall for Lan hanifen a course’s 51 car Alexandra Balan made his way back up the order up into second place and the get speed AMG currently in third place Fen Muller for high class racing sits fourth in their Porsche and in fact second third fourth fifth sixth sth eighth in gg3 are all line a Stern with basically a car length between them but they go from 24th to 30th on the road and that means that in 10th Place overall L and hanen unless he throws it into the barriers is an absolute shoot in there is a lot of real estate between the Black Thorn Aston and anybody else in gg3 back to green on the track the slow Zone remains between uh uh between jouge and the first chican but the rest of the track is green we are racing once more Maximus Meer leading from clemon Moreno and David Drew Ain David right behind them Tommy Foster in fifth and wtm by rales Leonard Vice in sixth position but here is the battle for second because the leader has cleared off again in a hurry he has indeed and the question now is can Adrian DAV and that chasing group catch this pair of cars back my look gone a superb restarting absolutely fantastic you’ve got to be very very sharp on the slowing down and on the speeding up through slow zones taking a look at minimum Pit Stop times now I think there may be only one car it’s not a car of significant position here D through to the outside on the NS motorport car I think he’s going to get by here outside run down to the super fast approach into the right hander at Indianapolis and he’s on the racing line he’s got all the equp but it’s a big moment you saw there as he lifted off the throttle the way the car immediately snaap but he hangs onto it down to arage the slowest corner on the circuit right down into second possibly even first gear if you’re really looking to fire the car out of there with a rival right behind but David Drew up to second second place 2.9 behind the race leader Maximus Meyer the good news for David Drew is that there is a gap to the leader so if they come to another slow Zone then he will have room to slow down there is wtm by ronaldi ahead of Team Thor so the team Thor car Colin Noble chasing Leonard Vice but they’re being dropped by Adrian David and Tommy Foster so there’s a gap now between the first two in that chasing group and the next two 3 seconds the good Max M now but now David Drew this Godly fend from it is 4 minutes remaining which will give them one more lap they’re doing 4 minute 20s so the fastest race lap I haven’t got the fastest race lap only the last lap but they should 3 minutes 52 so 4 minutes on the clock yeah it’s going to be the final lap yep will be one after this oh I don’t know yes oh I don’t know this is the this is the final the to the final lap now okay because this is the chasing group so last lap is shown on our turn in the scoring it is 3.3 seconds Max Meyer Carr 85 is going to get 5 Seconds time penalty for leaving the track and taking advantage that is Adrian David the current fourth place car and that will lose him a place at the moment both Tommy Foster and Leo Vice and potentially Colin Noble as well with with his driver’s helmet off is uh team boss the team boss and Alpine hypercar driver in the race later on today not busy at all then o somebody’s lost a little bit of body work there that’s been there for a while but I think somebody’s been wide there and over the dusty part of the track yellow at Marshall post three that is the very start of the I think it’s the 59 car not Cur 59 car I think they got of O the team vage car yeah covering lost ground dropping like a stone that’s Oscar B that’s the second time he’s lost ground so Adrian David has got to get the hammer down here not just to make up positions which was the original uh challenge but also to deal with that 5c penalties now going to get and he’s already with clemont Moreno never range but it PS cars car 59 also under investigation for unsafe release in the pit Lane as is the number 68 car but Oscar bit has just lost a handful of places anyway Black Thorn lead by nearly 20 seconds from AF course at get speed RSL high class AF course AF course kle racing kle racing kle racing quite busy for second place in all the other positions but black Thorne a long way clear as we’ve documented meanwhile here is the battle for third place clemon Moreno ahead of a and David on the road but aan Javid with that penalty coming his way at the moment that penalty will drop him back to sixth place and that’s the problem with safety cars is it closes up all the gaps that you’ve worked so hard to open up whether you’re in a position to gain points or otherwise worst uh news as well for the rsgp uh driver is that he’s being held up here by the Lee needs to make his way by him but it’s costing him time and it’s time at the moment is the enemy for him not the position yeah Maximus Myers still leading for mv2 racing and he’s now 2.7 seconds ahead of cool racing David Drew Clem Moreno in third is just feeling the pressure now as a and David tries to go the long way around the outside they Side by each in Indianapolis and that is ballsy stuff from aan David hanging on there around the outside one of the quickest approaches to the quicker corners on the circuit and they were side by side door handle to door handle that is epic stuff by both drivers Ain David and cemo Moreno cuz the tiniest variation in line there would have been an airplane crash this though looks to be the leader the winner across the line here we’ll wait to see if there’s any judgment about those toming those pit stops but from a spin on lap one from Rafael Morra Max Meer as leaning all the whoa calm calm calm it’s the last lap the checker flag is being unfilled and Maximus m is doing his very best to throw it away David Drew in second place 1.5 seconds back down to now about half a second back Kristoff Crest was turned around in the opening lap Max Meer took over very early on and he will be the first man to The Checkered Flag he manages not to throw it off in the final 100 meters ahead of David Drew for cool racing rhgp and high class come across the line third and fourth but Tommy Foster already promoted as aan David comes across the line it will be Tommy Foster in the high class racing car who steps onto the podium Saturday morning at Lamar on this brand new Podium so mvy 2s racing their biggest win I think of their time in michelan Leon cup and there’s your GT3 winner getting mullered by everybody else the biog gas Ferrari don’t worry about that that’s a lap down GT3 goes to Black Thorn Aston Martin as Lan hanen takes the checker flag Martin Perry shown that car with him and this pair also in action in the the uh the European Lamont series it was the fastest lap of the race on the final lap by the way from Adrian David which saves him a position overall would have dropped to sixth without that lap yep just squeezed ahead of yesterday’s winners uh W chm by ronaldi toron katson the man who finished raise L Vice but there you’re right Martin Berry started that Aston Martin didn’t get much time in it they came in early and they have benefited Lan hanin there’s Martin Barry there he is takes the car to the line well they look like finishing on the podium yesterday they were on the podium at the flag but they had stopped when the pit Lane was closed and were dropped way down the order our lmp3 leader mv2 racing have they had a more successful day than today I don’t think so winning races is one thing winning at lemon is another it was of course Kristoff cresp and Max my Kristoff been in action all week was part of the grid for the Leia European series uh on test day for their race and brings home the win on the biggest race day in the world here at Lamont did he not do the fun cup as well uh opportunity missed you know what I think he might have done it there there was a a 4H hour fun Cup race yesterday with 155 cars in it uh we missed the opportunity to enter um but I think an awful lot of drivers definitely Ely did not 155 cars I think there were three car four car entries so there’s Kristoff creser and the team MV 2s racing dancing elegantly over some Airlines and the cars will be turned around now as they head back to their park F which is underneath the big wheel on the driver’s left as you come through the final element of the Porsche curves so Martin Barry there in the distinctive pink and purple overalls waiting for his teammate L and hanin it’s Black Thorn AF corser and high class racing the top three in GT3 MV 2s cool and high class racing the top three in lmp3 so high class with two cars on the podium one in each class they’ll be very happy but none happier I think particularly given the disappointment of finishing in the top three at the line and seeing it all taken away for the Blackthorn team on Thursday’s race new for the Leon Cup this year Black Thorn they took a look last year but twocc car commitment to the remainder of the Season we hear but uh toston CS there sticking his head in the door to chat a long time co-driver Leonard Vice that’s a really good team as well ronaldi such a strong name in endurance racing uh cut their teeth and still app their trade very much in the uh Langster poal or the current renamed equivalent at the Nord life of the nurburg Ring they’ve got lots and lots of 24-hour experience and I’m sure they are eying this race not the road to leemon race but the big race as a as a potential future project it’s been tricky for anybody trying to find a way into GT3 in this first year of the GT3 uh program of No Doubt the wtm bonaldi will be taking a look at that but they love this bu there’s a very very look can hannin relatively unimpressed with all of that could hardly be more excited could he well let’s catch up with MV 2s racing Max Meer is in the car but Kristoff cresp is in the pit Lane with Steph I am joined by Kristoff Crest winner uh driver of the number 29 mv2 racing a huge congratulations to you uh what does this win mean to you uh thank you it’s incredible when Aton everybody have the dream to do that so for us with ambitous with Max Simons we didn’t imagine that because we have lot of problem during the race but at the end we win it’s the race and the beginning of the race it was difficult for you uh just talk us through the incident there yeah there is someone who push me uh at the at the uh in the in the corner uh that’s all and after uh for a lot of reason we can stop the we can stop at the pit before everybody and after Maximus I did a very very good job all right well you go find Max and enjoy the podium thank you very much if they’ve got it right that incident won the race for them because he was at the back of the queue potentially with the pit Lane open where the front of the queue may not have had that opportunity well we have not seen any investigation into their Pit Stop which means that it was legal decent and above board and there’s the Black Thorn crew celebrating a big result here as well as Christof crestf every endurance Racer’s dream is to win at leamon and they have both done that they’re going to get to stand on that iconic Podium the brand new podium in fact there is the classification M V2s racings 29 leier uh with 10 laps comes away the winner just about a second ahead of the 97 cool racing car David Drew chasing hard to the line high class racing will complete the podium uh overall in lmp3 we got to go a little way down to 18th Place to find the winner in GT3 it is the black Thor Aon Martin of Lan hanifen and Martin Barry with the AF course of 51 car the Ferrari 296 GT3 Alexandra ban bringing that car home uh and high class racing with a second Podium finish so you’re quite right podium in both classes Sven Müller bringing home the number 18 Porsche yeah the one thing I would say by the way is the adjustment uh was made for the pet stops too early at the line so I think this is the result yeah I think you’re absolutely right yes we saw that the uh rsgp car dropped instantly across the line uh that time penal was applied and so I think you’re absolutely right and in a in uh GT3 Blackthorn winners by 10 seconds over the AF course of 51 Ferrari and high class racing in third ahead of the second as of racing spr on get speeds um Mercedes in fifth position and another of the Armada of a of course of Fage the 88 car which was in trouble yesterday they finish in the top half dozen well the cruise that uh will be on the podium we’ll get to celebrate that in front of a massive crowd but before we go to those podiums let’s go down again to Steph Wentworth she’s down on pit Lane with a very happy Martin brry I am now joined by the GT3 winner Martin Barry of the number nine T Black Thorn racing huge congratulations the podium evaded you yes uh on Thursday should I say uh but now here you are on the top set yeah and it’s quite ironic too because uh it came down to strategy again in terms of getting lucky with the uh the driver change uh in terms of getting into the pit entry so uh yeah it feels much better today than it did uh did on Thursday so yeah great job Lin did a fantastic job pulled a nice Gap and so yeah super happy with the result and uh yeah what an experience this place is really quite amazing so first time here and it’s uh how lucky am I so yeah and I’m sure you’ll love to be back next year we’ll wait and see whether that’s the case h how are you and Lan planning on celebrating uh not sure yet because uh we’re both meant to be heading back to our respective countries but yeah we’ll find a way to celebrate cuz this one this one feels quite nice so all right enjoy the podium thanks so much thanks a lot cheers thank you well Martin Baron L and hannin probably got an hour or two before they have to pack up and uh head to transport so there might just be a little glass or something in the offing just spotted as he walked away there Martin driver coaching this weekend with that SC uh that crew is Johnny Adam uh Aston Martin Factory driver bumped into Johnny we hope to have him on the main uh leamon broadcast later on he’s here and on driver coaching duties as are a whole host of familiar faces yeah here and Darren Turner also uh inviting guests or shepherding around guests of Heart of racing and showing them Ro and again as you saw you know saw from Martin burry I love meeting drivers when they come to leemon for the first time because you know they have not got the faintest clue what’s in store I don’t care what you’ve seen on TV nothing a and I’ve never driven a race car on the track so I don’t even know what that bits like but it’s the rest of it that just blows you away I often talk to newcomers to this event and they talk about the event of the expectation and what I’ve said to them is it’s that moment you walk out and race day in front of that sea of humanity it’s the first time you drive out through the Dunlop chicane and the iconic site there and if you are one of the lucky people that get to walk out into that Podium y absolutely amazing experience for anybody that loves Motorsport absolutely lifechanging it it will re-evaluate your values of everything well Max Meyer very nearly threw it all the way in the final kilometer of the race big moments in the Porsche curves but he managed to hold it all together MV 2s Maximus Meyer and Kristoff cresp after Kristoff was clattered into and turned around on the opening lap surely he must have thought that’s all over they came in pitted early and the way that the cards fell as ever leemon chooses the winner uh but I’ll correct myself by the way Chris did do the Le European series he did do fun Cup yesterday ah there you go yeah so plenty of time at the wheel and this was a big battle as well between RS gp’s a and David and Tommy Foster in the high class car what a great restart between the two of those they really DED out the the racing and the entertainment and it was super clean it was edgy but super clean uh Tommy Foster taking the position into the first chicane and then having to seed the position back to Adrian David into the second chicane on a restart Kristoff cres Martin Barry look at them that’s the face of I can’t believe I’m here I’ve been in that room with race winners before now and it is a place of intense emotion electricity is amazing stuff really is you know there are a Podium anywhere is special but here on this day with the whole crowd assembled absolutely astonishing important second place finish in for Martin kuresi there sharing with Alexandro balzan in that AF course of Ferrari uh the Black Thorn astons are not title Rivals but uh high class racings Nick Jones and Sven Müller that’s that I mean dragging Sven Muller in that’s a a great addition to that lineup well it’s going to turn the uh some of the championship results on the head here some of these cars not involved as you said in a championship fight there is Johnny Adam he’ll be very pleased indeed with the efforts of his two charges GT he knows oh yeah I remember that epic Porsche versus Corvette battle at the end of Lamar an all time moment a couple of years ago but it was a bit decade yes I know I know how quickly time passes this is the point situation the 97 core racing car I think takes the champ ship lead here 47 and a half points from rsgp uh in second with high class racing third just one behind high class now so that’s a very tight battle for second place to be right high class rsgp rather had the lead after the first two races they are now uh Arin Keila and David Drew had just crept ahead of them after yesterday’s encounter Thursday’s encounter but they now stretch that lead a little we’re halfway through the season it tightens it all up beautifully for the the second half of this and rsgp have looked dominant here is the uh the point situation in GT3 the 51 a COR car retains there Advantage ahead of Kastle racing 74 and 12 there’s a big points Gap to fill Alexandra Balan and Matthew kesi ahead of Andrew Gilbert Fran Raider and then David fanelli and Frederick Jus but again that second place battle just a single point and again three more races there are not double points on offer here for the two races so it’s the same score overall As One race weekend one bad day for the 51 in its game on for the championship that’s the thing to remember here uh well there you go uh that was race two for road to Lemon on race day proper at the 24 hours of lemon the biggest win is they’re going to go to those on the podium but they’ll all feel like winners having raced here and in front of this crowd they will indeed so road to Leon is done michand Leon cup moves on to the rest of the series and we get ready for the lon 24 hours
