This 1000 km bike touring adventure is the second episode of my cycling trip to Monaco. I am touring Europe on a bicycle which started in Germany and going to end in Tarifa, Spain. Cycling across Europe alone, sleeping in a tent every night in a different place and experiencing life as it comes day by day, is a unique adventure.

The ride to Monaco was much harder than I expected. In this episode, I woke up in a vineyard after asking the owners if I could pitch up my tent and spend the night there. After waking up, I had my breakfast, packed up my tent and headed south, with the destination Monte Carlo viewpoint.
I rode the bike until I reached the mediteranean see and the first major city, Nice. Cycling through Nice was very uplifting and I could already see the mountains that I will have to climb uphill. As soon as I reached the hills that were leading me to the viewpoint, I knew this won’t be an easy task. I previously stopped at the supermarket, buying 10 liters of water and food, so being fully packed, made the journey uphill even harder.
At some point I had to push the bike, because riding was IMPOSSIBLE. After 15 kilometers and 3 hours later, I finally reached the Monte Carlo viewpoint and its majestic view over the entire country of Monaco. Enjoy watching the video

Out of your whole trip; i think the most impressive part was cycling from Nice to La Turbie. I've driven that road many times and can just imagine how hard it must be to cycle, especially in the summer. 😀

Great music! First, an incredibly grueling pedal up such a steep and high road certainly deserves a beer! Second, we have the same drone but mine has not captured such beauty and scenery as this tour you are on, very impressive. Third, I know camera work can be exhausting amount on top of the task at hand, so bravo for making it so marvelous for the rest of us.
I would be tempted to fly from your camp down to Monaco beach, but looks like it would be a trick to get back to the camp after haha! Cheers from Canada!
