[Music] the 111th Tour of France was build as possibly one of the most exciting ever and the opening day did not disappoint the first ever start in Italy at the beginning of a welcomed T Bacha with big crowds yonas V would be there as well and of course Primo RIT was along for the ride a naul on the start list alongside ful for night will be there too the first time ever in a single stage race the big six had all been on the line but 176 strong Riders would take on the 21 stages between Florence in Italy and N not Paris this time because of the Olympic games lots of big stages to affect things a mighty start lless what more could we ask for the opening day had 3,700 M of climbing Fen flos Florence finishing in Rini connecting bartali and P a flag waved and plenty of attacks straight up this of course was the tour to France the biggest bike race in the world it would take a while before anything would settle down but when mahic and his air former stage winners were up the road you knew things were serious DM had been trying with Bal they did manage to get one man in there though that would be F and Brook as tiller and Abramson tried to join them the Gap was over a minute though and it was going to be a very difficult Chase Abramson would go for a second time this time followed and marked by Ryan Gibbons and when they got to the first of seven categorized climes things started to change and they changed for the worst two because Mark Cavendish struggling in the heat would lose contact first K of this Tour of France Was Won by yonis air behind EF education easy post Ro a little UAE were there as well and the Gap was over 5 minutes at one stage before EF then really put the pace on just inside the final 85 k Mark Cavendish by this point was 50 minutes back there was a worry as to whether he’d make the time cut or not UA Emirates had a spell on the front riding too would t a Gabi up for winning the opening stage and picking up where he left off in Italy winning that was at the Jiro this is the tour and this was Jonas Abramson fresh off his first ever Pro win last month out at the front 50ks to go and movement this time from the pelan ran Bal making his move Mic and another Riders being dropped Gibbons going backwards as well Brook waiting for Bal DSM fic poel had a plan still up the front was madw he was joined there were four there but not for long and then Ben Healey decided that he was going to try and bridge the gap a minute and a half to get across Bal still in front as they went through San Marino the second of the four nations to be ridden through at this year’s 111th toour of H hey was back in the bunch and pulling could it be a day for bettiol the local boy and Italian Champion a minute and 21 for Fen Brook and Bal Bal riding his last ever Tour of France and the Tre were pulling on the flat roads towards the Adriatic Coast 7 and 1/2 KS to go became 4 and 1/2 KS come on this is really good really come on this is amazing this is amazing come on and that was the encouragement from Sports director Matt Winston he was right too because they get to three and a half K to go with half a minute cish had over half an hour back but all the focus was at the front a group of around 45 Riders maybe 50 were chasing them on and he went into the final kilometer as well a few looks back from b a calculation had been made behind but it was a miscalculation just lacking the the Firepower as they looked inside the final 200 M and realized what they were about to do F Brook and Bal Bal winning the stage pulling on the yellow jersey for the first time in his career in his final tour of his career and behind Wild fernard back to the peltin winning the Sprint ahead of T Pacha for third what a day for DSM they played it perfectly the plan worked the entire cycling fandom bowing down to Bal at his [Music] team an image that will last for a long long time and one that will Define the career of ran Baldi a previous Podium finisher but now a yellow Jersey wearer B winning the stage he’ll be the 99th Frenchman in the yellow Jersey on stage two what an image to take and now he will feel that his career is complete Roman B leading the tour to France at the end of his career 4 seconds toon and Brook his teammate 11 to vard and then pachar a look back relief and in the end a job really well done Ricker alongside Jacobson joining the as done our Riders Cavendish making the time Cup by around 10 minutes stage two takes the Riders from chzo to bologa and again it’s a tough stage not quite as much climbing but this time with bonus seconds near the end and a finish in Bologna after a double Ascent of San LCA means that it’s one where the GC Riders will have to be wearing the tour has started with a bang it’s live each and every day on Euros Sport and this got Plus

    1. 4:40 It looks that pogacar changed the line drastically and pogacar's rear wheel collided with Pedersen's front wheel. So Pederson gave up the sprint.
      It was a dangerous moment.

    2. Very disappointing from the peloton that they gifted Bardet 2 minutes within a few kilometers in the decisive part of the stage. I'm glad that nobody of them took the stage win in the end.
Congratulations to Bardet, van den Broek and Abrahamsen for an impressive and very entertaining race! 👍
