I’m at the tour to France 2024 and I’m on the lookout for all the latest and greatest hot Tech but it’s not just me Lloyd is also here that guy who used to ride for the sell test team and Alan from gcn Italia or as I like to call him Allan anyway let’s go see what we can [Music] find over at Lotto Destiny the oras are looking resplendant uh the team has just nipped out for a training right um so they’ve taken most of the bikes with them and with them they took their new prototype or Bayers that are called olabs so they’re not here right now but I have managed to film them and so we’ve got a video all about those that’s going to be coming out so make sure you subscribe for that so that you don’t miss it what has been left here though and it’s pretty cool is Victor campen Art’s TT bike which he’s been out training on as well so he’s got his training wheels in normally he’d run a disc um my favorite things that I have to show you about this all right check this out wax chain Patrol at the back here he’s got a wax chain on great but he’s also citate a little little handwritten message to the mechanics which says do not wash chain no oil clip chain and take it off before you wash amazing amazing I absolutely love this this is probably my favorite thing that I’ve ever seen when doing a hot Tech video at any race Victor campart loves wax chain so much that’s like and I feel his pain as well because before I know where I’ve taken my bike to like a mechanic to have something do on it and or my brother did it as well and he took it to a bike shop and they sorted his bike out and then they went oh you CH was dirty had all this waxy stuff on so we jet washed it all off devastated amazing we have come to the Uno X hotel and got a closer look at the brand new dare bike of dur vareni this is the VA or velocity Ace some of you Keener of eye at home might have noticed Alexander Kristoff and Manus Court using this brand new aeroframe back at the spring Classics apparently Kristoff crashed his though so he only recently got one again uh as you can see the head tube is absolutely massive and it’s particularly accentuated on Sor and v b because he is over 1 M 90 tall uh this new design is courtesy of some relaxations I would say are the rules of the UCI a couple of years ago now obviously it takes some time to take advantage of those rules produce a new frame set design get it tested in the Wind Tunnel get it manufactured Etc to being the final product well Uno X are using it this year and I understand that there’s going to be quite a few frames that will have a similar design being released next year I can’t give you the exact figures on this but I can tell you that this Frame is significantly faster than its predecessor and whether it’s by chance or not all nine of Uno X’s Pro wins on the men’s side this year have come on this brand new design courtesy of Alexander Kristoff Manus Court neelson suran vold Jonas abrahamson and the rest so it’s clearly a very fast bike I’m at the catalon AER and they have their rather nice vonel RCR bikes which they’ve been doing phenomenally well on this season uh what is a really very curious Det I’ve spotted though because I’ve never seen this ever before is their front tires are different from their rear tires so they have GP 5000s on the rear nothing strange there but the front is a new tire with a different tread pattern and the logo is blotted out but it looks it’s a continental but I can’t see what it is presumably this is a new tire maybe a prototype something that’s coming very soon and my guess looking at the Curious tread pattern and that that it’s only on the front wheels and not the rears is that it has some kind of aerodynamic benefit um and I think that I’m thinking that also because this is paired with a swissside had drop so uh swissside and JP Ballard provide the wheels and consultancy to the team and JP at swissside has long been a big fan of the integration of tires on Wheels and the effect of aerodynamics that has so I think that’s what’s going on here but I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the numbers say when this tire hopefully is finally released officially I’m over at the team of inos grenadiers and there’s a lot of hot Tech here mainly because they’ve got a full Fleet of the new pinell Dogma fs and they look just amazing in this this colorway uh you can see the carbon weave coming through down here and then you’ve got this nice Fade Into the the orange of the team color and they oh it looks absolutely amazing this is actually Gant Thomas’ bike couple of other hot tech details on here though are the outfront mount for the head unit is 3D printed and arrow uh so it’s very light very aerodynamic really nice little detail that it’s very looks very smart at the front um at the back as well it looks like a bit more 3D printing they’ve got a special lightweight carrier which is for the transponder box that goes onto the back of the bike um rather than just sort of fun it on like a lot of other teams do they they’ve got a lighweight option for that another little thing is they have a little sticker to Mark where the seat post goes so the seat post is always at the same height for this Rider and then another little stick they like stickers another little sticker by the valve which I’ve noticed on all the wheels and that’s got a date on it and that’s because they’re using tubless sealant and they want to know the date at which the tubless sealant went in so that they’re not running sealant that’s kind of gone off and dried up really cool but if you want to see all the details on G Thomas’ bike then you’ll have to check out our full video which I’ve done on this bike as a Pro bike oh wax chain Patrol inos Edition oil uh I just saw Tom Pitcock come back from one of his pre-race training rides and well he gave me one of his bead on because Yorkshire represent um thanks Tom appreciate it but I I have become the thing that I swore to destroy AED on Bandit also they’ve got the new inos Grenadier team car behind us I think this is like the latest sort of one I’ve seen of kind of like I don’t know like a sort of exotic team car we’ve seen the ftype being used by team sky in the past and then uh there was also the McLaren being used at the jro by byin but yeah the latest kind of like funky team car what do you think let us know in the comments uh bit of hot Tech over at jco alua for you the Riders are currently out doing some uh pre-race training rides um on on their bikes but what’s amazing is Simon Yates still has four bikes fully here already and some more on the team truck behind me and a spare one on the team car behind him as he’s doing his training ride loads of bikes so I mean wow what’s particularly cool though and one of the reasons why he has so many bikes is because he has both the Propel aerrow bike from Giant and the TCR at his disposal all of these are set up perfectly to his measurements um something that’s evident from that is that all of them have an absolute Whopper 140 stem on there that is a real I mean it’s a a real a real chunky boy stem that one isn’t it look at that waxed chain Patrol though Simon Yates clean but oily not waxed while on his travels Alan Allan has found something which could quite possibly be the hottest Tech at this year’s tour uh yumbo visma I must remember not to call them that visma Lisa bike uh have a control center now this is very intriguing it’s a van uh which inside has a load of computer screens and data connections which allow it to communicate with the team cars and also the Riders out on the road so it gets data from the Riders bikes and can monitor their progress during stages real time Telemetry and then act as a hub for all of that data to analyze it and then pass on information to the team car who can then pass on information to the Riders so that they can make better tactical decisions in real time whilst out on the road in the race they can analyze the positioning of riders in the pelaton and they can also look at the positioning of Rivals and what they’re doing and also just analyze the power as it’s coming from the bike and being beamed to the control center and look at things like heart rate and all the other metrics that you get from a bike this is potentially a phenomenal bit of tech and apparently they’re not going to be using on every stage the understanding is that it’s going to be used on just key stages so presumably a lot of the mountainer stages where there probably will be some logistical challenges with connections and connectivity and signals in the mountains dropping in and out but I think this could be really fascinating and being able to have someone that can gather all this data and analyze it in a meaningful way and then pass on the key decisions and key bits of information filtered down to the decision makers I think well let’s let’s see what difference this has in the race if VI Melisa bike Mak some amazing tactical decisions during the race this is probably why something else Alan managed to spot as well is Primos rit’s new bike and well all the other bikes uh at Red Bull Bor hands grower as they’re now known and now feature this rather striking new livery on the bikes with the the Red Bull graphics and color scheme on there let us know what you think of that it remains unchanged it’s a specialized tarmac sl8 but with this updated color scheme do you prefer that over the previous Bora hand scrow bike or do you like the new one let us know unfortunately that’s all we’ve got time for but I hope you’ve enjoyed this look at hot Tech at the to France let us know in the comments what your favorites been share it with your friends if you’ve got any and if you’d like to see some more stuff about toura France bikes and other things we’ve got going on we’ve got more coming on the channel we’re not just filming this here so make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss it I’m going to go get some gelato now CU I’m wearing black jeans and it’s 30° love you bye

    1. Sooo Ritchie Porte couldn't a camper van at Giro a fair few years ago BUT Jumbo cam have this TILL whenever UCI decide against it 🙄 red bull bike is mint 👌🏼

    2. Wow, that VLB control room is cool! Can't help to think how such an investment takes away from smaller teams to be competitive? What are your thoughts?

    3. UCI should add some rules around the proportions of team support vehicles. That Ineos behemoth is admittedly going to be awesome for drafting behind but not helping the carbon footprint of pro cycling. Too many reasons why I think that is an inappropriate team car. I’m hoping it’s a marketing gimmick and a ‘normal’ car will actually be used during races.

    4. That Dare bike has to be the ugliest bike if the tour, I’m sure its fast but it looks like the most uncomfortable bike of the tour too 🙂

    5. The Team Decathalon Van Rysel bikes with the new front tires have ramps and walls that will aid the braking performance. Looks like they took a lesson from MTB tread patterns.

    6. Is it about time the UCI placed restrictions on what can be used as a team car? Are there any restrictions on size or pedestrian safety ratings at the moment? The Ineos car looks dangerous for cyclists, environmentally inconsiderate and completely unnecessary functionally. It'll obscure the road ahead for everyone behind it too.

I short, the car looks good, but using it might not look good on Ineos…
