Gąski is a tiny place in the North West of Poland. But Gąski boasts pristine, sandy beaches and… a lighthouse. The lighthouse built in 1878 is one of the tallest in Poland! Do join me on Thursday for an evening walk around the lighthouse and along the coast of the Baltic Sea. We’ll enjoy the tranquility (weather-permitting) of the sea, and if lucky, we might observe some wildlife from the nearby forests and dunes.

responding but shall we try please put something in the chat box so that I can see if if it works for me thank you we still have I think a couple of minutes to go yes two two minutes so just enjoy the The View while we wait for the time to come to start streaming from the Polish Seaside let me check the time well just a few seconds to go yes you can see some sea behind me I am at the Polish Seaside at the Baltic Shore my name is Ella welcome to my tour not from waro today but from the B Baltic Shore from the seaside where I am spending my holidays this year like every year and today I’m going to walk a little bit along the seaside so that you can see the the beach I’ll talk a little bit about the Baltic Sea then we’ll will go to the local local Lighthouse so that you can see the lighthouse and then back to the beach again so that you can see a slightly different different show not dramatically different uh but different today is the hottest day of the you know o over 10 days that I’m that I’m here 26 Celsius very warm and yeah and it’s 7 730 p.m. and it’s still very very sunny and very very warm let me switch the camera but do that I need to go here back camera and now the the view is yours so again I am at the let me fix the camera I’m at the Baltic Seaside over there about I don’t know about 100 50 kilm from here to the to the West there is a German border so actually some Germans have a shorter distance to come here than me from waro from waro it is over 500 kilm it’s about 7h hour 6- hour drive over there this is um way to Gin a couple of hund a couple of hundred Kil kilometers from from here then further down it would be the Baltic states also Russia kalingrad for example yeah that’s the bit that uh Russian has but by the way I cannot see the chat I cannot see the chat so if you are writing something in the chat apologies I cannot I cannot respond I thought I sorted the problem but I but I haven’t I cannot see the chat I can see the screen with the with the sea and hopefully you have also a nice view I hope the connection is is is good and it’s clear so I am in the region called of Poland called Western Pomerania Western Pomerania Northwest of Poland the biggest town city here the the the capital of the vo V ship of Western Pomerania is shinin which is almost on the border with uh Germany 400,000 people population of 400,000 but the it is an attractive City but it is coob which is 30 kilomet from here about 30 kilometers from here so over there betweenin and G you could ccle there is a nice cycle path from where I am from from gonski to kobek and kabj attracts KOB attracts a lot of German tourists especially pensioners they have sanatoria they have really nice uh Spas there in coob it is known for its nice hotels and as I said spa spas and a few years ago some before the pandemic there was a plan to to build a nuclear power plant here and Germans apparently the anecdote says the legend goes that German said that if there is if there would be if there is a nuclear power plant here they will give up on coming here and there is no power plant in G coming back to the to the Baltic Sea there are nine countries around the Baltic Sea so mentioned Germany then Poland further east it would be Russia with kalingrad then uh the Baltic states Lithuania ltia Estonia then going across the Baltic Sea to Scandinavia IA Finland Sweden and Denmark I think Denmark would be the closest okay over there some I don’t know 500 kilm in straight line there is one connection between between uh where I am and waro yes Denmark in Denmark the symbol of also is mid and you know that there were two mids twin sisters and one of them stayed in Copenhagen in Denmark the other one to to waro the coming back to the Baltic SE some statistics some statistics let me look at the numbers so that I don’t mix them up over 8,000 kilomet is of the whole of the Coastline across all the nine states in Poland in Poland in Poland it would be what do you think I’m looking at my 843 kilomet right I don’t want to actually cuz I came here so that I could show you the sh here in this part of J ski the Baltic Shore is of uh there can be three different types of the Sha one is here very very short Cliff but yes that would be a cliff type of shock look at the roots of the tree okay one St and the and the tree will fall down I think what’s characteristic of gonski the place I am in is this soil the clay let me show you apparently the clay is of some cosmetic value you can you know take it home I mean you apparently it’s not allowed to take it home but there is no sign here but you can put it in the you know water to make a mask and you know apply on your skin you will be a different person I haven’t done it yet I am still here for to days so yes very little Cliffs here the tallest cliff the tallest cliff in in Poland at the Baltic Shore is volin in volin the island of volin 80 m not very tall tall enough okay family having the supper it’s very quiet sea today very warm as I said normal but the sea is not warm at all uh B the Baltic Sea is considered quite a cold sea uh the average temperature would be around what 16 in summer I’m talking summer like now 16 Celsius which would be between 16 celsi and 19 cels 16 is I think 660 F and I’m pretty sure today was about 16 I had a little swim it’s very quiet but it was very cold let’s look at the trees very nice Forest little Forest over there I hope we’ll see some birds on the way I think some more people may have joined so welcome we are at the Baltic Sea and to say again I do not see I’m afraid I do not see the chat box so if you are asking questions or commenting I do not see it live I’ll see it after the uh after the streaming and if there are any questions I can answer I will answer them uh I mentioned coob as a as a nice town uh to visit and also popular among uh Germans last year I came here and I made little film of coob about coob 10 minute film so if you want to go to my YouTube channel and find the last year film it’s it’s public and by the way if you don’t haven’t subscribed to my channel on YouTube please do I find it quite motivating to see the number of population on my Channel Growing so please please do as you can see there are maybe I’m not sure whether you can see but I I can see there are quite a lot of behind the camera there are quite a lot of people further down and we go into the to the crowd over there and this thingy here very popular at the Polish Seaside because it can be quite windy at the at beaches so in summer you’ll see a lot of those as you can see speak of bit of the beach we have beautiful Sunday Beach could you see that it’s quite beautiful one of the nicest beaches I think in all the beaches that I’ve been to not many but find it quite quite nice here very comfortable to lie down and walk on okay the Baltic Sea a big some people say it’s like a big lake but it’s called sea the Baltic Sea it’s considered relatively young only 12,000 years ago it was created of the glacia that connected Scandinavia over there in the North and the north of Poland land it simply became it simply started me melting and um and so from one Lake to another we got a we got a sea it is it is considered of average size not too big not too small it’s salty but not too salty there are sees that are salt here it’s not very deep the deepest would be 500 M half a kilometer the colors I’m not sure what color you you can see but for me it is it is kind of bluish but the color will change during the day and normally it is considered rather a greenish greenish sea depends on the time of the year the time of the day also the microorganisms in the water today tonight it’s bluish actually hello I hope you can hear the waves not very strong today very peaceful welcoming I don’t think we’ll see any fish here the most popular fish in the in the Baltic Sea was what hering Cod what else let me look at my notes Here her in COD H Place TBO that would be the most popular but not the only but not the only fish Birds I’m not sure whether Barbara is here maybe you are here Barbara I cannot see the chat so I don’t know whether you are here but there are quite a few Birds I’m not sure whether we might see some at the at the Lighthouse swallows and the or the Martins Martins they have their nests there so I hope we’ll be able to see some of them I can oh look at them some seagull there too many people you know disturbing it’s a nice evening so people come here a lot of people come here will come here in about an hour to see the Sunset which probably will be spectacular it’s nice colors because the sky it’s not entirely clear but you can see the this sky so coming back to my nose animals dogs obviously you’ll see a lot of dogs here okay dogs talking to each other okay and the lighthouse you can see the lighthouse already as you can see there are some people all on the on the top we’ll get closer the climate here at the Baltic Sea it’s rather normally it’s cooler in summer than in other parts of Poland as far as I know there is over 30 CRA in warsa so very hot and pleasantly hot I’d say whereas here it was today it’s been a quite a hot day with 26 cenra but there is a breeze from from the sea Plus you know the temperature of 16 uh 16 or 60 fahit of the sea cools you down immediately I’d say I think there will be some fishering going on let me ask him okay okay I was just asking what he wants to what type of fish he’s going to you know catch he doesn’t now we had a bit of chat about last year was those sandy beaches normally there would be some sculptures that people make of sand let’s see whether further down we’ll see any we’ll see any sculptures it’s a nice evening Sun nice evening light it’s quite warm colors I’d say so yes mild clim I mentioned the climate mild climate with kind of warmer Winters not as severe as in other parts of Poland but Springs and uh summers are quite chilly which I like and Autumn tends to be warmer than maybe in other parts of Poland so obviously the climate is influenced by the Baltic Sea but also by the Atlantic Ocean people already secure their places for the for the sunset right I am looking for an exit which is over there and obviously the Baltic Sea is the place for the B itic gold which is Amber Amber comes in you know various colors but the most popular is the one of honey and obviously when you are here you need to get where is the camera here I think you need to get uh amber so you can see various colors the one the kind of Hana one is most but you can see there is also yellow and kind of greenish very nice and do you know that Amber has some healing characteristics so yeah I’ll be healthier antiseptic a lot of anti bacterial extensive oh this is the most common thing Wafers very popular here and Amber you know how the Amber was formed in here in the Baltic Sea area in the Baltic Sea it was 30 Millions years ago 30 Millions years ago and there actually is um raisin from the trees okay sticky raisins that got got fossilized and developed into this Stone and because the raisin was raisin is sticky some uh insects smaller animals get stuck in the raisin and those the amers ERS with you know flies uh whatever insects spiders in are the most expensive and apparently in the Baltic in the Baltic amers you could scientists recognized six over 600 types of spiders bicycles as you can see I’ll come to the the baltica in a minute going to the Li house cuz it is a nice object still working and you will see a bit of G ski and yes indeed everyone buys Amber when at the Baltic Sea there are lots of jewelry shops with Amber but you can also buy amber Cosmetics like shampoo creams it’s a nice uh soap is a fish restaurant opened like five five hours a day the season summer season has started has started it started last week I came here just a week before it started oh here are the Nur before I forget and the birds let me see if I can zoom can I zoom let me see just want to show you the nest oh can you see that nice and the birds Lads of them okay that’s the closest I can show let me get inside back obviously lots of souvenirs I’ll come to the souvenirs a bit the lighthouse built in 1878 40 m tall 190 steps but it’s closed so I cannot cannot do it apparently maybe oh there is lots of nests over there let me show again hold on uh hold on on top so it is like 50 50 m from here oh lots of nests okay back to back to normal camera right so we are in goni gonski F so these are ligh houses in Western Pomerania the this is Germany Germany POA Poland Shin I mentioned shinin okay that’s the biggest city in Western Pomerania I also mentioned Co Co they have a lighthouse there it looks like has the tallest tallest lighthouse or maybe here actually you see that so we are again in gonski coob where Germans like to come Polish people also very popular with Polish people and the SP the sanatoria it’s sanatorium after sanatorium next to sanatorium uh apparently there are over 20 20 lighthouses in Poland and we are in one of them 1878 almost 50 m tall light uh 51 m above the uh uh ground ground line whatever zash light the light from the lighthouse for can be seen from 4 to3 kilomet okay so initially there was obviously a kind of oil lamps but now we have after this the war or maybe even before this is a characteristic building from the area kind of brick building I’m just going okay more info here and again it’s quite an attraction so you can walk up there and have a beautiful view Over the Sea and the nearby towns okay souvenirs so let’s see what you can get in gonski you can get a little pillow with a boat my magnets with your names as you can see quite popular so Flor let’s see if they have barbar and Ella okay adames just the names are different because the oh Basha Basha is okay and perhaps miow is with us let’s see M M M M sorry just quite in it okay let’s leave it so I showed you some bicycles because one thing to do when you’re over here is to have a bike and get on the bike on the Vel baltia which is a Polish uh section of the Euro cycling pass oh [Music] and the the Polish bit has over 500 kilometers and I I cycled a little bit this this week and and last week and yesterday I posted the film again it’s on my YouTube channel if you want to if you want to get a taste it’s a very nice uh and very cycling path because you can the surface at least here from gonski to KOB is a very nice very nice surface and you go through a couple of towns uh you go along the coast you can see the you can see the sea uh but I filmed this year I filmed the uh section from gonski the other way to mno which is the other direction it’s still nice quite a lot of of trees and forests but yeah I I couldn’t see the sea from the from the cycling path but it was still very nice so if you are interested to see it is on YouTube the officially uh the the official kind of swim area there’s a drone yeah is still closed it is the season has started but I think they probably starting here in uh July so next week probably right so one of the common activities is just digging a hole it’s just diing for boys and girls maybe it’s I’m slightly disappointed I cannot see any sculptures some some sculptures but maybe it is too L not enough people this part from the lighthouse as you can maybe you can see is fenced let me turn so that you can see where the sun is it’s already quite a nice quite nice Reflections the tourists that come here are mainly poet people from across Poland but you will see some a lot of quite a lot of Germans because German obviously is quite close it’s probably cheaper here at the Polish side than across the border in Germany and I even I think there are some you know people from scandin Navia and last year I met some people from the Czech Republic and what do people do here they just as you can see that’s that’s what they do just relax I love it the duck seems to be enjoying it quite quite a lot in the morning you will see because in the morning usually the sun is more is harder so it’s easier to walk so in the morning you’ll see some walkers over there a little town bigger than goni and noic walking is quite popular in Poland do you know what nording Nordic walking is I’m not sure whether it’s that it’s common in other places it came from Scandinavia to to Poland and it you just use oh someone will be hitting the ball so it came from okay from Scandinavia and you use walking sticks use walking sticks to kind of push and all apparently it’s very good for your all your muscles work when you do noric walking I do noric walking yeah but so this time I forgot to take my walking sticks but normally I would have them oh here is a bit of piece of art let’s say something someone tried I’m so glad I can show you okay PM I don’t know what PM is some must be someone there is a heart with pm what I’m going to do I’m going to show you one of the streets here in gonsky so I’m using this exit and here you can see also a little bit of another type of sh which is in the Baltic which is uh dumes and the third type is just flat
