Although I am a cyclist I think the proposed cycle lane scheme for Rainham Maidstone Road is wrong headed, especially when better solutions are available. Vote Peter Cook, Independent Candidate for Gillingham and Rainham.

Peter Cook, Independent

Peter is a self-made Medway-born business-person and professional speaker, from Gillingham. He is standing Stan the cat for election, on the basis that it could do no worse than Rehman ‘n’ Rishi. Although this sounds mad, Peter is deadly serious about the need for a better Medway and better politics. Peter’s policies include:

• Expand the Medway Tunnel for bicycle and pedestrian use, to boost the Medway economy.
• End Brexit chaos. Apply to Rejoin the EU, to reclaim our seat at the top table, improve trade and our place in the world. Brexit created 4.5% GDP loss to Britain. Our cost of living crisis has its roots in Brexit, like trying to swim the channel with a 4.5kg block of concrete around your neck. We cannot grow Britain without addressing the Brexit elephant (cat) in the room.
• Restore broken Medway communities. No new houses without infrastructure: doctors; schools; hubs; pubs etc. Rethink town centres, rather than letting them wither.
• Prosecute criminal MPs and water companies. Justice for Post Office workers, contaminated blood victims, WASPI women etc.
• Convert the Great Lines to a giant litter tray … oh wait a minute, they already are … let’s green and clean up our towns instead.

Vote for Peter if you are fed up with political incompetence and incontinence, just fed up with politics and politicians in general, or think Britain needs a reboot. As an independent, I have no party to serve, just people who deserve a better Medway.

Manifesto www.brexitrage.com/cats

hello there it’s Peter Cook independent candidate for Gillingham and rham I’m here in rham just ducking up around the side of the maid Stone Road and this proposal to put a cycle Lane although I cycle is utterly ridiculous we don’t need cycle lanes because nobody with any right mind cycles up Maidstone Road they would use you know Marshall Road or or or the other roads up there to get there it’s just not a good idea not only so I’m arguing against myself being a cyclist I’m also arguing that the road is it makes it potentially more dangerous to to narrow a narrow road to do this the same thing has happened in London actually with the a205 the South circular Noble intentions to put cycle Lanes in on the south circular but it just makes it really dangerous and it stops the buses because they now have to use the car Lane so it’s nothing there’s nothing clever about it and what we desperately need to do more local things is have prop local consultation rather than an analyst coming in who’s already set a plan out which is what seems to have happened with the mstone road the person didn’t even know there was a school up the up the road to to deal with with this cycle scheme so I’m I’m not for silly decisions in government and politics we must make informed decisions that includes taking people with them through citizens assemblies and understanding it and of course local people know exactly the situation that they live in and what therefore could work rather than having someone helicoptering in like a Spaceman and uh saying this is a good plan cuz I’ve drawn it on a drawing board so we do need much better uh democracy we we need much better consultation if we’re to make wise decisions that takeing into account all the things that we need to worry about uh in the world so if on Thursday week you are undecided about who to vote for or youve fed up with a lot of them please give me your vote because I’m here to uh to actually make a better world in mway in jilling and raining so it’s Peter Cook independent thank you
