good morning Day 26 cycling from the UK to Singapore and I am just at the border of Hungary in Slovakia country number six on the journey um yeah stayed at that little Eco Farm last night you might with mosquitoes was unbelievable I think there was probably about 200 mosquitoes in between the fly sheet I’m uh netting in a tent last night it’s like unbearable even cook breakfast this morning it’s just not an enjoyable experience but it is what it is River Dan behind me it’s a lovely day think I’m going to have the wind on my back today as well um yeah see how it goes aiming for over 100k I’ll take what I can get I’m really scoped any campsites or anything yet but do that a little bit later when I stop for lunch somewhere exciting bik’s looking sexy as always hungry let’s go just stopped at The Spar and hungry let get a little chocolate cross on for breakfast nice coffee and orange juice don’t even know how much that was cuz didn’t use the euro here I just tap my card so I’ll have to check my banking Gap and see how much it actually is and just eating it by this statue of a guy throwing a Molotov cocktail is pretty cool don’t know who he is yeah he looks nice [Music] all right uh changed the plan today I was never going to head into Budapest but my friend uh Stevie who’s from Hungary that I used to know from when I lived in the Cayman Island sent me a message and he’s living in Budapest now so I’m uh I’m going to go stay with him for the night see what’s going on in Budapest watch the football exciting stuff I saw one of these things in slak here as well looks like some type of X USSR like a water planing Ferry best way way I could describe it Madness all right about 50ks outside Budapest there is a 400 m climb involved which I’m sure is that big hill in the distance if you can see it but once I’m over that it’s all downhill into the city pretty much doesn’t look too steep on the gradient of the map we’ll have to find out when we get there it’s quite a long BL it’s about 25 30 km so hopefully it’s not too steep uh just stopped to get a drink at the spa there get some of the Hungarian cash out I was chatting to nice friendly man seems to be a little bit of inflation he said times in hungry aren’t great economic wise he’s very friendly uh people stop here as well to let you pass on the road which is always a good sign of a country it’s lucky don’t stop for nothing no Z Crossing they let you past really give you a wide birth either but seems a lot bit more cycle friendly here hello hello hello yeah so far so good it’s pretty hot about 29 30° but sure my friend Stevie will have lots of beers ready to cool me down when it gets a pest okay we’re at the top of the climb so mostly downhill from here is a [ __ ] hot one there look at that woo oh [ __ ] hello um uh I’m in Budapest not in the touristy bit I’m in the local bit I would say uh did have a high core temperature there and have to take about a 45 minute break in a KFC in the air conditioning we left for a couple chicken wings about five cups of lemon ice tea I’m fine uh about 5k till I meet my mate hopefully I’ll get cleaned up and then uh go out and have a little brows on the [Applause] city yay hungry said
