hey folks how you doing Richard from bik pack adventures and welcome to Dale’s bik Center for part two of Northwest North n ax 200 in both directions so we’re heading back to Sheffield today but uh yeah it’s just about 7:00 so I’m going to talk into some breakfast before hiding down uh for those who didn’t watch last video this was my uh sleeping spot right behind the tent there uh right be the tent right be the tree I had the tent set up uh setting up in the pouring rain probably see the uh exact spot where I was and don’t let that weather you know deceive you it’s going to rain today on and off sharp showers and everything so uh yeah not looking forward to that anyway I’m going to get inside and go get some breakfast and uh something to wash it down with as well yep still got beer left from last night so here we are C around the table for breakfast I’ve got some porge this morning so I’m going to talk into that add some I don’t know add some ra so today’s ride is 200 km from here in fton at the D bik Center we’re heading back to Sheffield uh this time though there’s half as much climbing uh there some at the beginning and some at the end and pretty flat between as a ride through parts of the veil of be Veil Beaver veil of York even um go towards north aleron and just just heading south from there uh straight down the veil so a lot less arduous so yeah of course climbing at the end of Sheffield that’s not good and what’s what we going to be like sunshine and showers probably not much Sunshine though no no fingers crossed yeah yeah yeah or we might get Thunder I think yellow warning for Thunder it did look a bit dodgy it I don’t know what time it is now but I’m guessing it’s half 7 so I think got about half 7 to leave but while the Sun’s shining I I’d want to be out there soon we start the better yeah yeah storm clowns are gathering qu an hour to go everybody’s itching just go I mean it’s dry we just go out it’s dry down that take two days to get out yeah and you’re like no like now the Consultants that need it bit nervous so is this aord miss the M start but it seems to be a marathon or something running through North push me way through thank you enough Spectators Runners you have raed so much money so best safe trying to get ahead of the [Music] owners just in time just getting to the H wers I think must be leaving at 10: ah why are we sending this down on these kind of Roads as you can see lots of surface water how typical British late spring it is fishing it down just to clear for a little while and then there just uh thundery showers after that I do like these Lanes on a more appropriate bike but not on a road bike come on I look anyway we heading toward OSG good B bank now this is where I was this is where I was two 3 weeks ago on the mountain bike up over there in Kilburn Forest so I know unless we’re I think we’re going left there’s a bit of a hill to contend with don’t say you one of those YouTubers that only films the happy good bits because it’s not always sunshine and rainbows it’s always sunshine and you know clear roads and everything’s going right and now and again every now and again get nonsense like this anyway about 15K from the inex control at eom world it’s halfway through the ride so happy days so arrived in eing world there’s the sponsor Co-op and I thought was 98 K in but appears I’m only 78 K in so got a bit further to go than I thought for those you who don’t know I’ve had problems with my Garmin last few weeks and I’ve the uh case was rattling just put a strap on there anyway some water’s gone in there now so I got my phone talking me through the rest of the way I think it’s still on it’s just uh beeping away and I can’t see any screen so yeah useing me phone for the rest rest of the way I think talking to which better charge it up so I’m finding myself heading out of eing world the next control is the uh town of tadcaster which I believe by that point I’ll be in South Yorkshire quite possibly anyway unless of course it’s uh still a little bit nor for the m62 I don’t know TimeWise seems to be just like yesterday kind of quite pushed it really just just to the nature of how it felt this weekend really but uh what is it 22 38 km away and got a couple hours to do it so well about 2 and a half hours to do I think maybe three just hoping the weather stays off a little bit I starting to feel uh pretty cold so taking a second Jersey off and I put like a f fley uh top hor which I slept in last night I just got feeling so damp inside I was never going to get warm from that so put it on instantly I was like much better come on car hurry up so I’m at tollbridge I think this is the one that was closed during no points North last year when I tried to put it in my route yeah big detour try to keep a straight line don’t get me clever don’t try and get your camera out just keep on going we there we are well I’m braving the rain arriv to T Costa sight bake coffee carrot M muffin and it’s not Gregs it’s a coupins or Co-op plins very very wet oh it has been sun’s out now though Sun’s lovely and warm I’ll be gone again soon though so I just stopped to a Wii and to took my hood in so it’s not create a massive wind sock behind me in the knowledge that 6 and half km turn left hold on yeah in the knowledge that in less than six km up the road I’m going to get wet again and that Hood’s going to have to come out cuz there a big cloud between myself and Selby which is the next uh stop so it should probably rain in the next 45 seconds shall we count I hope you’re counting cuz I’m not tell you what though if you are looking for a rain jacket make sure it’s got a Hardie cuz of the absolutely the are Game Changer as long as it’s big enough as well to fit over or under your helmet then you want to a winner you can’t use it it’s flapping behind you to feature the object so look out for that in the market form this particular one is is the RB downpour 2.0 this is the large um bit too big for me really could have win a medium but there you go it’s all I had out sou Crossing Wales join the PCR last summer oh I feel the rain where are we now we are going through o andik right hood is going on I see you on the other side oh look at that just trying to do the zip up ready ready to go as I ride through the next Village up kwood that shower that I dodged just heard my first Rumble with thunder was lucky didn’t miss me last thing I want is torrential [Music] rain you can see where it’s been falling I’m riding through the aftermath having a continued success with these thunderstorms seem to be just catching the tail end of it or the side of it that one was sounded particularly beefy very dark couple claps of under yeah it did piss it down but for like a minute right on the edge of it so yeah I was still wise to put the rain jacket on I kept going I would have got drenched the the Four cast for these storms is pretty as it forecast um said there was going to be a couple big thunderstorms in South Yorkshire in the afternoon early early evening and it’s just turned out to be that way thankfully they miss me [Applause] he so what’s next oh we’re going past a Donkey Sanctuary I know somebody likes donkeys he never gets to see any donkeys though oh it started early I was just about to say we’re about to end the uh enter the land of the fly tippers but it’s already begun heading over the uh m62 now just coming up to the second to last info control hooton pagal I actually thought I’d passed it um I’ve only been this way handful of times spread out of over a number of years so want to recognize thatly I’m just looking for road signs what we having the uh phone giving its instructions out I’ve got no map to hand I didn’t bring the quadlock with me that would have been useful as a backup just sat on there so I just got voice control on which is great but it’s not you sometimes you need a visual map as well definitely do especially in the town and in the city so I know want to get to R and Doncaster I’m going to be R and Sheffield I’m going to make a few errors I think turn slight right anyway I think this is Bo be ping on coming into now so I’m looking for the first uh lamp post I need to take a photo the five numbers on it assuming this is the right place which I think it is can you see how i’ got to really pay attention barely see the sign behind all the the weeds all right to go not just Sheffield now cheffy cheffy yeah thanks there we go it’s number [Music] 35452 got take a photo of that cuz I don’t want to to shift all the way through before try to find the right bloody thing 35452 okay let’s get a photo let’s get a video of me taking a photo zooming going on there we are [Music] yeah that’s it next one went with looking for bus cour with Lane COI Lane bus stop on the left what is the eight digigit number on the sign last of the beautiful privileges maybe I don’t know is a nice one I’m going to have to put my uh down Jersey on again when I get to the hills I think cuz I’m uh overheating a bit with this uh fleecy top well D just G in the wrong direction for about a mile and a half turning around again just found a weakness with the app um I left me phone in well after I took that photograph I forgot to take it out out of the app switcher do you know where you like just move left to right to change out of apps and when it was in that mode it stopped talking to me so I’m having to go back to uh B be bagol again and find out where I went wrong some nice sights here in South Yorkshire it’s going built up area coming up be turned off just before then um hoping it does get built up soon though because I’m close to bonging here and I got no food I’ve eaten all I should have got some in [Music] Selby just in case but I didn’t I didn’t uh I didn’t pick watch up to be honest now I think his name’s David the the young man that looked after everybody at Dale’s bikee Center um not alone somebody else was helping him as well he passed me about 5 minutes ago on his bike he’s uh headed back from Dale’s bike center as well think he must have cycled there yesterday more oh I’d expect more directly cuz he he didn’t do do the Oda or maybe he got a lift there don’t now eway he just asked me and he was the last one to set off oh my God it cold now please be a shop nearby there we go Co-op to the rescue so I’ve gone for refrigerat a twirl and a chicken bacon sandwich cuz I really need it hey folks it’s a really uh lazy picture you know having pajamas and a b callay Monday nearly 10:00 a.m. post ride just for a catch up and let you know how it all went very difficult weekend a lot tougher than I thought it was going to be I can’t believe it took me longer to get back on the uh less hilly route than it did and the outbound uh going up to Yale I don’t know why maybe it’s because of the Tailwind going up if you’re looking for a bit of a challenge why not sign up for the Northwest North next year um yeah that’s kind of different actually having a bit of bike packing Adventure right in the middle everybody camping at the bike center u in fremington as for the right s yeah yesterday uh turned out as expected the weather was as you saw just in out showers all day long but I finally made it to back to Sheffield it must have been about half n or something qu to 10 maybe so about an hour to spare uh so quite close um I was expecting on both days to be back before dark but just didn’t happen um so I’ve definitely got to get my gear sorted uh 32 sets nowhere near enough for those kind of rides and I felt uh you know ibly better off on the gravel B with the Fick tires this has got lower gearing um and so you have got a gospel pass 600 coming up in July so I need to sort that out uh between now and whenever that event is really just get try and put 34 cassetta on there um because yeah it was a bit of a struggle and I think that kind of what slowed me down anyway I do hope you’ve enjoyed this one I’m going to get dressed in a minute and well I have another coffee get dressed clean a bite because it’s just sat in a van um and just tidy this place up and do what I wouldn’t normally do on a bank holiday and that’s just chill out instead of actually out on a bike ride uh and what looks quite a nice day I do hope you’ve enjoyed watching this two-part
