[Music] [Music] hi we’re Mayan Emir and we’re full-time Travelers in nce France on the French Riviera also called the kotur we’re going to help you discover what it’s like to retire or stay in France specifically in N today we’re visiting the exclusive Kor neighborhood one of the most desirable districts in me in this Ultimate Guide to neighborhoods you will get a feel for the Ambiance here and see three sample apartments for sale as you get to know the pros and cons to this elegant District so stay with us if you’re thinking of retiring in the south of France or if you just want to know what it’s like living in France or wanting to figure out where to stay on your next vacation let’s start with where to find the cedor plasmaa and Boulevard gambetta bracket the district the coveted Victor Hugo Boulevard creates the border to the North and the prominade and the sea form its South border this Central spot in the heart of n is the number one pro for the Kor location location location if we had to summarize the corridor in one word it would be Posh even its name means golden Square the corridor is tidy and well taken care of potted plants line the frequently clean streets [Music] this is n’s most popular district for real estate investment when foreigners look for a dream place in nce the look is eclectic with a mix of bellac Art Deco and wood shuttered provinal Stone giving the district An Elegant historical feel oozing a quintessential French Vibe the district is Lively with residences among exclusive shops and fine eateries many streets are wide Illuminating apartments with sunshine and you can’t think about the corridor District without considering your address to be on the widest Boulevard of all Victor Hugo so let’s go to Treeline Victor Hugo to see your first apartment most buildings here have elevators which is not a given in niece Apartments have high ceilings and more gracious [Music] layouts this Arc Deco era apartment is on an upper floor with over 100 square m and two bedrooms and two bathrooms the windows face Victor Hugo Boulevard with a Southern Exposure Ure and the building across the street is beautiful to look at and not so tall allowing the sunshine to pass into your apartment except on a rare cloudy day like the day we [Music] visited the gorgeous Herring bone wood floors and preserved original doors give the apartment a very French character [Music] [Music] while the kitchen solution is a little odd it’s also miraculous because the kitchen was previously at the back of the apartment where there’s now a bedroom [Music] the apartment is four blocks away from the beach and only two blocks of the tram that takes you in a few minutes to the lovely Port Olympia or One Stop closer to galdi square the start of old [Music] town it’s easy to have a carless life in the corridor District you’ll have many Pleasant walks in your neighborhood so before we go to our second apartment let’s take a walk together down one of the clean wide sidewalks it’s morning we’re in the center of a city n has made a huge effort to convert many previously two-way automobile streets into one-way streets with bike paths and leafy border Gardens taking [Music] over and while the corridor is rather Posh it’s also very practical everything for daily life is walkable from specialty stores to simple but well stocked small grocery stores on every block or two including biom [Music] [Music] markets okay International House Hunters are you ready we’re headed to your second apartment in a lovely building just three blocks from the beach here we’re on a less busy street so it’s feeling quite neighborhood the apartment is on the third floor where they tend to put you above the bulk of the street noise and give you a better chance of a light bright [Music] apartment with 87 square m it has two bedrooms and one bathroom [Music] you can’t always expect one but many apartments in the cedor do face into a garden area in this case the whole garden is owned by one private person who doesn’t like to share so it’s just for looks and sunlight but still a nice [Music] treat many apartments listed as renovated like this one do need some further cosmetic or interior changes to make them your own [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] The View across the street with palms and beautiful facades give you a real French feeling but below the auto repair shop across the street is something you want to think about [Music] we’re going to head down this very same street Into the Heart of the shopping district to your final apartment but let’s stop and notice that if you choose the corridor for your neighborhood you’ll have lots of choice for your favorite Parks from petite to quite Grand the masena Museum’s Garden is our favorite this park with its Lush foliage and winding circular path is a public park but only during open Museum hours by the way if you’re enjoying this video please subscribe to our Channel we need your support and this is the best way to [Music] [Music] help if you choose the cyador for your neighborhood you’ll also find yourself surrounded by [Music] history this for example is the Russian Orthodox church built in the 1850s as the number of Russian immigrants grew in the early 19 1900s the Russian Zar funded an even bigger and more spectacular Russian Orthodox Church on a site just north of the N Train [Music] Station besides the history that surrounds you among your neighbors you’ll find International and local designer shops you’ll have plenty of fun choosing your favorite place to splurge if you choose the coridor as your District you’ll have plenty of access to both Global and French luxury Brands this store here Ben Simo started in Paris in the 1960s as a shoe and clothing surplus store and over the years it’s become a beautiful concept store featuring echo-friendly clothing and home wears if you like tea you’re going to love this shop it’s one of my favorites in Kor P de it’s a chain within France uh but they make excellent teas and these guys are very friendly and most of them speak English so let’s go inside this beautiful collection tins I love the old tins is what about Philip Tay’s Cosmopolitan take on traditional French pastries taak pastries all have a beautiful twist with surprising ingredients in Chic presentation he even makes a French tart of chocolate chip cookie dough and if you love this Bakery too well you can live right across the street at your next apartment for sale here we are at your next apartment an ultra Chic designer gem in the heart of the corridor just three blocks from the beach and one block south of Victor Hugo [Music] opening on the sitting area this three-bedroom apartment is an Entertainer’s dream with the bulk of the5 squ M dedicated to open living space The Taste level here is impeccable we imagine your dinner parties and feasts made in the to die for kitchen triple pane windows make the apartment silent but being on a lower floor when we open the windows the street noise floods in we do feel close to the surrounding buildings who block some of the natural light however mirrors cleverly magnify what Sunshine does come [Music] in like the rest of the apartment the bedrooms feel Airy and Sleek even though they’re small the furniture and custom built-ins help and they’re both included in the [Music] price the guest toilet is a feet of Space Management [Music] so before we go let’s summarize what’s great about this neighborhood and also cover the five top cons the corridor is undeniably Central the neighborhood is clean and well taken care of it’s easy to live a carless life your neighborhood gems surround you with history and French flare and upscale shops and eateries lie at your doorstop and for many people that is what it takes to be a favorite however let’s give you a few things to think about con number one inconsistent not all parts of the caror are consistently beautiful watch out for what’s out the window con number two who’s at the door because it’s Posh and Central many doctors and lawyers locate their officers in the nicer residential buildings located in the corridor so while this area is considered one of the safest neighborhoods you can also have a lot of strangers coming in and out of your building con number three pricey as a go-to location high demand has driven up prices and better value can be found in other neighborhoods just outside the boundaries of the Kor con number four lots of tourists this is also the go-to location for hotels you’ll be sharing your neighborhood in local restaurants with vacationers particularly in the High season that’s it for today please join us for all upcoming episodes of where they live in nce France as we help you Explore More niece neighborhoods and live your dream of retiring or staying in n France we look forward to seeing you again in the next episode if you like this video please subscribe and give it a thumbs up or [Music] Al

    1. I just got back from Nice a few days ago.. hopefully the weather is better now than it was while I was there. I've always wondered where it would be better to stay in this lovely city so thanks for the pointers👍

    2. Looks lovely. I'm ready to move. I just need to find a sugar momma to buy me one of these apartments. Can you do a video on that? In the mean time, I'm going to start working out.

    3. excellent video — & thank you! Now I can show my relatives the neighborhood where we actually purchased 8 years ago! We have indeed found the Carre d'Or to be quite pleasant.

    4. 'SPOIL YOURSELF!' ❤️ For those practicing Indulgence Therapy… nowhere is more supportive of your journey than the Carré d'Or. Oh Yeah, PHILIPPE TAYAC is exquisite and makes me feel RICH 🤑

    5. The apartments are lovely, but price point is rather high for modest retirement incomes! I guess I should start in less costly area and just visit Nice. Any other videos on more affordable neighborhoods?

    6. Great video you guys did a great job but France is still unaffordable for a normal human being $100.000 for 100 Square foot average in the best part of Nice to live , I messed up 10 year’s ago
And should have bought a place then ,
Again you guys do a great job one of the best travel and relocation YouTube channels

    7. Thank you for providing in depth content that is not typically produced, especially by the YouTubers that spend 3 days in Nice and move on. We are planning to move to Nice in September, so we love this content. We’ve watched your videos going back to Liguria; you always make great videos.

    8. Great video, i'm from Alexandria, Egypt and visited Nice many times, it reminds me of how Alexandria was when i was growing up in the 80's before the overpopulation, garbage and ugly buildings went up…i will be retiring in Nice, as the Meditteranean is in my blood..would love to if you guys can post good websites for us to see real estate there

    9. Isn’t Nice the most polluted(air) city in France? Poor air quality leads to an early death. Edit: If you have the weather app on your phone add Nice to it. You will see the air quality is deteriorating.

    10. We loved this video on Carré d'Or … please keep up the good work and we'll be especially interested in the places you find that we can afford 🙂 Hoping to see your "take" on available real estate in Quartier des Musiciens or La Libération neighborhoods. Thanks!

    11. Amazing video! This is very helpful. Hoping to sell our home in the DC area someday and move to Nice or surrounding areas. Out of curiosity, is Menton a more affordable alternative to Nice? And are towns across the the border in Italy like Ventimiglia or Bordighera worth considering?

    12. Yummy $25USD pastries…might be more expensive that the Negresco..except it might go well with the kir Royale at the Negresco..my favorite place to stay..😊

    13. Thank you for sharing real estate listings! I am thinking about retiring to Béziers, France eventually and love learning about the housing market.

    14. Rocky beaches and Disney like experience in Nice. All the Americans love it coz it reminds them of California. If you can believe it. Why not try something different? Go to Poitiers, Rennes, Toulouse, Bordeaux…. So many smaller towns are charming and historic without the Disneyworld and astronomical price experience that Nice offers.
