what’s going on YouTube we’re back at it for another video and today we’re going to be breaking down some solo gameplay footage as well as giving you some of those tips for solo play when it comes to facing off with the termined but overall giving you a rundown of the load out that I previously made a video for to this video and I’ll have a link to that down in the description below if you’d like to have a more in-depth look at what the load out it is specifically but we’re going to be working with the eagle air strike the rocket pods Patriot exo suit and the flamethrower for this run and by all means this isn’t the perfect solo build right here this isn’t one that I made specifically for solo runs so I may be working on that in the coming future the whole purpose was to kind of just showcase the load out itself and not have any other exterior factors getting in the way of showcasing this load out by itself But A good rule of thumb as soon as you drop in is to immediately go prone the worst thing that you can possibly do especially in Hell dive difficulty is as soon as you land down you may be next to some bugs you want to check your radar how close you are to certain bugs as that initial drop in they won’t notice you so if you do end up just immediately going prone you and the the entire team you can end up being able to crawl away without starting that initial bug breach and do make sure to crawl far enough away that you can start calling in some of those strategems without alerting some of the either patrols or surrounding bugs the number one way to have one of the worst type of starts where you can really just chew through some reinforcements is just immediately coming in and then as soon as you see that bug you start lighting them up instead of going prone and then next thing you know you’re turned into this cycle of bug breach that other people aren’t able to get to their strategems quick enough some people are Panic throwing strategems next thing I know people are getting team killed and it just turns into this giant cycle of constantly being called into this massive overwhelming force that just chews through the reinforcements and you have this like 10 to 15 minute point of that beginning of the game where it’s just trying to regain before even moving to the first objective it can be an absolute nightmare but we finally made it to our first Little Egg Nest and I did immediately call in The Patriot exg suit as it does have a 10-minute cool down and since we are on a mission where this is going to be one of the harder missions for solo considering every time that we come up on one of these egg nests it is going to be crawling with different types of enemies and more than likely well it’s almost 100% guarantee you’re going to be basically facing a bug breach at every one of these locations now one thing that I didn’t do considering I’m utilizing this build and trying to Showcase its power along with its capabilities is that you can end up causing bug breaches in between the points between these nests that way by the time you do make it over to the next Egg Nest you can avoid some of those problems and be able to clear out the location without having everything spawn right in that location but you’ll notice we did have a pretty easy egg nest at the very beginning not too much to deal with and we’ve got plenty of ammo left within the mech and we’re going to be able to just keep moving all the way over to that next Egg location but one thing to highlight as well is being able to utilize that eagle air strike or the rocket pods to be able to kind of soften up some of the enemies on the inside especially if you are within that Mech I could have easily dropped in that air strike and then dropped in a rocket pod just after that to either take out one of the Chargers within if not kind of clear up some of the packs that are inside there and this would have given me a little bit more of a capability of conserving on the overall ammo and being able to use more out of this Mech as we proceed to that next Egg Nest but you’ll notice I’m kind of killing a few of them as we’re going across but in general I kind of want to avoid wasting all the ammo as you’ll notice that within the mech I I don’t know what the actual top speed of this thing is but it feels like it’s almost moving as fast as somebody that’s running if not a little bit faster a lot of times I’ll be able to outwalk some of those enemies that’ll be just behind us the hunters won’t be able to catch up to me and I should be able to walk walk out of the radius of a charger coming at me as long as you walk forward you have to turn sideways and then walk instead of doing the sideways step that’s going to be the thing that gets you caught up in certain situations but you’ll have noticed that we’re also capable of using those Rockets to basically snipe out those sport trees out there can be a huge benefit to you but I did end up in one of those situations where I kind of let my guard down started turning around allowed things to get up behind me and thankfully we’ve still got more than a few Rockets left but sadly enough my aim wasn’t perfect in this moment then I just started dumping everything as we got a little bit too low on this one so I decided we’re just going to have to basically throw this Mech to the wind it’s already used up enough of the ammo we’re already here at the next location and we’re just going to start coming in and utilizing some of these Rockets just to destroy the Egg Nest as that’s the big thing that we want to be able to clear out we don’t necessarily need to take out every one of the enemies sometimes the main objective is the number one thing that you need to go for you need to get into that mentality that the main objective needs to get completed regardless of whether or not I throw myself into a situation where as long as I get the main objective completed it doesn’t matter whether I die or not and a lot of times that can Bean the difference between a win and a loss and especially when it comes to solo play this game just isn’t catered to uh solo play so overall like you may end up finding yourself to be more of a martyr than anything but that is basically going to be the way that you end up winning this and starting to get more of those Liberation points but you’ll notice also that flamethrower is cutting through those crowds pretty nicely but at the same time it’s one of those moments where I make the decision where we’re not going to have one of those hold out moments where we’re going to constantly start attacking those enemies right there as if I did I’d immediately be stuck in a moment where I’m just going to have a bug breach this was going to happen regardless of whether or not I reloaded and kept utilizing that flamethrower over there and then I would be stuck in this instance of constantly trying to churn through those enemies and you’ll notice here in a moment that this would have worked out perfectly for me this would have been that play where I made the bug breach away from the location but I sadly enough fell into my own trap of throwing my grenade a little bit too close to me and then next thing I know I’ve got one Hunter on my back and that’s going to be the end of me whereas had I not thrown that directly at my feet I more than likely wouldn’t have been knocked to the ground and then getting that critical hit from that Hunter which seems to be like never ending at this point since the patch it seems like those little grasshoppers are far more deadly than they ever were before they seem be knocking your head and completely destroying your health bar way faster than they used to and I mean it just takes one of them just leaping at your face and that’s like the end of you right there it is extremely frustrating it gets even worse right here where you get stuck on something you know a vending machine stopped me right here but we still got the main objective done and now we’re going to kind of kite ourselves out of the uh action try to get as far away from it and we’ll actually be able to lose that aggro of those enemies and now from this point I don’t have my flamethrower it’s still on cool down so we’re going to take a wide sweep to the left and you’ll notice on the radar all the enemies are starting to pile out of that location we’re able to watch where they’re going and we’re going to be making our way around the outside edge avoiding that aggro trying to avoid getting another bug breach or just having them all compile on top of us but now we’re going to be able to sweep back through take out a couple of these enemies and especially those grasshoppers making sure that we don’t get any sneak attack moments or SL load by them that’s the number one worst thing that can happen but we were able to grab up that flamethrower and now we’re going to be heading over to the final main objective location where the last of the eggs are going to be now as you’re moving along here the best rule of thumb if you’re moving from objective to objective and you have no bug breach directly behind your massive pile of enemies check that radar as often as possible try to avoid any type of aggro as you’re going across if you’re not trying to go for the side objectives and i’ make a strong suited AR argument that your best bet in every single mission is to not do the side objective first go after the main objective that way you can guarantee you’ve got a win here you’re going to get your War medals you’re going to be able to progress get the Liberation and then after the main objectives done that’s when you need to hit these side objectives these bug nests and everything else that can just further enhance your overall requisition slip and experience gain by the end of it but about the only side objective I’d say would be worthwhile that is if you come across it while you’re going from objective to objective is going to be the radar station as that one will actually highlight all the minor places of interest but the number one thing the stalk or Nest locations because not knowing where those are and stumbling upon those can be really frustrating and being able to take care of those as quickly as possible is going to be a huge benefit to you even in Solo or even more so in Solo gameplay but now we’re over here at the last Egg Nest and we’re waiting on cool down when it comes to our eagle and you’ll notice we’re utilizing the stealth to the maximum of our capability right now I’m checking out the radar I’m kind of at the corner they’re just kind of sitting off inside there they have no idea but we have a couple of patrols going around not only did we have one over on our left but we’ve got another on our right so we’re just going to keep waiting on that cool down until that’s available and then we’ll be able to soften up this target by throwing in one of those air strikes hopefully the main goal is to possibly just be able to get in one Veil swoop all of those eggs over there in general when it comes to facing off with these Egg Nest or destroy egg nest missions the cluster Eagle air strike is going to be a better suited one for taking out those eggs as quickly as possible but again this is me trying to just showcase this build overall ended up in a bit of a pickle it didn’t go very well as soon as we threw in that eagle air strike and there was more than a few Chargers waiting inside there as well as possibly that Patrol over on the right side coming in it it just uh is one of those situations where you just can’t know everything without having that alert and in this moment moment we’ve got the bug breach already going off it would have been more ideal to possibly have went outside the edge and then cause a bug breach out there but knowing that there’s now three Chargers already inside there it was going to be a bit of a dooy coming in here in the first place now we’re going to play a little bit of regain we’re going to try and mulch through as many of those little grasshoppers as possible those are the number one enemy type that we’re going to need to take out as quickly as possible so that way we don’t end up getting those slows even though I’m running into the mines I’m getting uh chewed up by more than a few things but we’re trying to keep that distance constantly kind of pushing back but at the same time we need to continue focusing on making sure that we destroy those eggses that’s the number one thing that we need to get done right here obviously in this situation one one possibility is running out and being able to kite them around the edge it probably would have been better for me to go all the way around that outside edge rather than just immediately going inside of here that way I can have like that little bit of kiing train and then come back in across that left Edge and be able to use those grenades but overall it did end up working out for me I was able to get in there and basically get most of the eggs before getting uh crunched by that charger but now we’re able to just come back in drop an eagle air strike and then start heading on our way out of here and that’s going to be the completion of the main objective so regardless of whether or not we run out of reinforcements we are still going to be able to get all that experience the requisition slips and the most important an thing The Liberation towards the planet and the war Metals so from this point we can do whatever we’d like if you’d like to go for side objectives you know get a little bit more XP possibly more requisition slips but do keep in mind especially while you’re playing solo the longer you’re in this match the more aggressive the enemies are going to be when you get more bug breaches or there’ll be more patrols as you go through and there’ll just be more and more enemies that’ll be spawning in from that point going forward as that time ticks down to the zero Mark before those destroyers leave orbit so do keep that in mind try to make sure that you still have enough time to utilize some of those strategems when you call in for extraction now from this point we are going to head back to extraction and we end up basing off with our first biot Titan sadly enough I wasn’t capable of truly showcasing the rocket pods to their fullest we will get one strike right here but sadly enough as I was running back it ended up being one of those moments that is extremely frustrating inside of Hil divers 2 for whatever reason it is clearly a service that you could up or possibly mantle over I mean 99% of the times I run over to a resupply and I end up climbing on top of it but in that instance when I’m running backwards towards a rock that is clearly a slanted surface I don’t come running up on top of it to avoid the bile puke it is really irritating I can’t state it enough almost at this point there are far too many times that I have ended up dying inside of this game due to the fact that I can’t climb up on certain surfaces that I should be able to to climb up on top of for whatever reason I guess there’s just no mantling animation on them especially when it comes to utilizing something like the jump pack that is uh extremely frustrating to jump pack up to some type of high ground and then find yourself in a situation where it just seems like it’s like you’re not meant to be there like the jump packs just for just kind of jumping over enemies instead of jumping up to high ground and being able to utilize that high ground in certain instances even though there’s a multitude of those locations that there’s so many different enemies I can still get you up there bit of a strong rant right there but I I just hate the fact that that that jump pack gets diminished in quality based on the fact that I jump to certain High grounds and I just can’t move around on that high ground and then end up just dying trying to move around up there but moving on from that we’re going to be talking about the extraction now which we’ve got to clear out more than a few enemies before we can interact inter interact with that interface goodness I don’t know sometimes dyslexia comes in and starts playing a little fiddle with me but overall from this point since we don’t have another one of the reinforcements we’re waiting on cool down I decided to call in the mech now I didn’t immediately want to jump into the mech I wanted to make sure that I was actually able to get the extraction called in before jumping in this Mech as to not waste the overall ammo that we have available for this as the number one thing that is going to happen is after we clear out these enemies as soon as we call in the extraction there’s going to be a whole slew of new enemies coming just behind this so it would have been a little bit more beneficial to basically be able to churn through those enemies at the same time rather than clean these up and then have basically a fresh clean board for them to spawn even more enemies as it it’ll be one of those game logic moments that there’s already so many enemies spawned right here and there’s only a certain total number of enemies that can spawn at any given moment and that would have given me a little bit less spawning in and you know so on so forth your game logic boring stuff but after we call that extraction we did grab the attention of the biot Titan over here and it seems like everything in the world started getting in the way of my shots I will say number one thing you don’t want to hit is the bile Titans legs they are arguably the strongest thing in the entire game when it comes to sheer destructive power as well as being able to basically tank just about everything in the game it is absurd how powerful they are even while they’re dead those little I mean if you’ve ever noticed some of those moments where there’s like three bile Titans right next to each other somebody pointed it out in my last stream that it it’s possible that when you see all three of them just out of nowhere crumple it’s because one of them died and started flinging their legs around and then next thing you know it just created a chain reaction it is absolutely one of the most deadly things and even in certain instances if there’s a dead body of a bitian you start walking next to it sometimes the legs can even kill you in that moment I would highly suggest not even trying to mantle over some of these legs in certain instances I found myself flung around or something just completely bugged in those instances with those dead bodies to where I’m just getting completely melted out of nowhere by just the legs it’s insane now sadly enough the mech has not made it all the way through here it is taken a good beating and we are finding ourselves completely surrounded and in general I would say your best bet is to jump out of the mech before it starts to blow up sometimes you can get out just as it’s starting to take enough damage but if it takes too much damage it will eventually just end up blowing yourself up now a second option for being able to hold out at some of these extraction points similar to this one you won’t always have this with every extraction site but if you do have one with these Rock structures that are surrounding it if you do come back in on a last reinforcement even while in a group you will be able to land up on top of these now some enemies will still be able to jump up here and grab you or start attacking you effectively but it’ll be one at a time and you’ll be able to take them out fairly easily and from this point you’ll be able to basically hold out from a lot of the massive amounts of enemies and then be able to try and slowly clear some of them out but do be careful when it comes to utilizing any type of explosive whether it be a grenade or strategy as that can be one of those moments that just sends you to the pack of the wolves and they just completely descend upon you and Eat You Alive it is quite frustrating but that will be it right there I thought this would be a pretty decent video to give some solo tips along with showcasing the overall build sadly enough the rocket pods didn’t get showcased all that well in this we barely had any biot Titans and I think that is something to talk about when it comes to you know a lot of people complaining about solo play not being balanced for them and this and that I think the game does scale the number of enemies based on how many players are in the match so it is in a way skewed to help out solo players if that’s the route you’re trying to go for but overall I’d say the solo experience is not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be it’s not as overwhelming as they say it is a lot of times it’s just simple mistakes like you saw with the gameplay footage before that can end up causing you a whole lot of trouble and this is at the highest difficulty at that this is one of those modes that technically is supposed to be something that is extremely challenging and there’s a lot of RNG involved with it it’s not meant to be something that’s like everybody’s going to be capable of doing this every single time like a perfect no death run you’re going to die in this game that’s why there’s reinforcements and it’s a part of the charm of it it just makes it a little more interesting and sometimes you can utilize those deaths to reposition regain or even gain the hand when it comes to facing off with either the automatons or the bugs sometimes that’s the best Strat that you can actually have is trying to force yourself outside of the action and being able to get them stuck in a choke point if not give yourself the breathing room to utilize some of those strategems to make your way through the crowds but that’s going to be it right there hopefully this has helped you out and Some of the best advice I got from you was to initially crouch or go prone higher difficulty to check the surrounding. great content, keep it up
The number 1 advice i would give players is just dont play solo this is a coop game the coolest and funniest happen when you play with a squad or even better freinds haha
Use scorcher for eggs, its splash damage works very well so you don't need to waste grenades and ~5 taps spores.
While playing with squads (friends) is the ideal way; playing solo showed me how to play the game and survive. It’s the same as “if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.” If you can survive solo, you can survive in a squad.
Do you go home to Starla every night?
I have yet to make rocket pods kill anything worthwhile. Idk how it makes it into a build at all.
Scorcher is underrated on bugs. I can take out chargers back legs and fleshy butt easily only with primary and you can deal with any medium armored enemies. love rocket pods tho if you don’t have mechs atm to drop they really work on the titans.
With the patch that just dropped health for charger heads is lower as well so aiming for the head with rockets in general is highly viable. Also something I caught that I don't know if you've seen, Reaper, is that you can turn side on in a mech to a charger and it'll stop dead and be stunned. You take either no or minimal damage while still getting the 'trample' distortion but it's viable to save yourself and stun it. EATs and Recoiless as of even last patch no longer have a glancing blow reduction in damage, meaning that chargers are basically twice as easy to take down on average compared to normal, on paper. Also spawn rates and spikes (Breaches I assume) have been rebalanced for heavy enemies on 7 and up difficulties. Reducing the amount of Bile titans and chargers but with more less armored bugs to fill out the gap.
What is the best armorfor you
Rocket pods just don't do it for me. I don't know if a patch has changed it recently but the tracking for the largest enemy doesn't exist. It always lands either where the laser is or just behind the enemy and it doesn't really kill anything.
The thing I'm honestly most surprised by is that you're doing all that in heavy armor given how much the terminids headshot so much in melee and armor rating doesn't help at all with that
Yo, I wanna step up my solo game so I can be a beast in group play.
In the balance patch they adjusted the big ai(made them more aggressive)
And they increased headshot damage, and headshots ignore armor, that's why a hunter can kill you in 2 shots
This run and advice feels unrealistic. This is nothing like what most players experience on 8-9. I wish my runs were this peaceful
I focus on the nests closests to the objective unless i have time then i sweep all the nests to reduce numbers on evac
I never would have thought nate diaz would become my favorite helldivers 2 streamer but here i am
This was great! Really appreciate you taking the time to make this. Learned things I know, but always seem to forget when it’s important and learned some things I didn’t know at all, especially about the mech capability. Really great. Would love to see another walkthrough for a different mission type or showcasing a build or whatever. Thank you!
Never call in the Suit from the beginning. Ive seen the drop ship take out a charger and a bile titan in 2 shots.
is this pre or post charger nerf ?
Step one to playing solo: Find a group
I'm hoping they are going to release upgrade modules for the mech. Faster turn speed, walk speed and like 25%increased ammo would be a godsend.
Playing a few rounds solo really teaches you the mechanics of the game and makes you better even when playing in a group
Any1 know how to change fov on console?
