Scotland have given themselves a fighting chance of qualification to the Round of 16 at Euro 2024 but a very stern test against Hungary awaits on Sunday evening. A win puts Scotland on 4 points and makes it very, very likely they’ll make it through as one of the best 3rd placed teams but the danger is there in which Hungary know if they win and beat Scotland heavily then they could squeak through on 3 points depending how much the improve their goal difference.

It’s going to be a nervy night to say the least.

[Applause] all [Applause] yes ladies and gentlemen welcome along Friday night on the bus again and it’s another of those Scotland Euro shows because yes we are now counting down to Sunday night and as the title says Scotland are Hungary for Success because yes our opponents Sunday Le him shaking his head and disapprove already it’s a good pun come on it’s an obvious pun but it’s a good one sometimes the easy answers are answer uh but yes Scotland take on Hungary the final group game you said on Wednesday night on the PMP the least you can ask is as long as we get to the last group game and there’s still something on the line and yes Scotland still are very much in a shout of making history and getting to the last 16 getting out of a group stage obviously there still will need be some results that might need go away but it’s shown in history that four points is enough to get you through as one of the best third place teams in this format Al those have said a few times because it would just be typically Scottish to happen you wouldn’t be surprised if we still got four points and somehow still managed not to be one of the best F Place teams but hopefully that is not something that’s going to happen it’s all going to be fine Scotland are going to do it but we’re going to talk about it tonight so welcome aone folks welcome thank you for choosing us on this uh there was the typical uh Scotland moments that we had where we put ourselves in a lot of danger again a bit like watching Celtic in Europe where we invited a lot of Danger on ourselves and Switzerland were okay I think Switzerland were there for the taken if we just gone up a gear or two I think it was there to be had but alas it just wasn’t to be obvious a point does keep us in with SH top show Four Points as tradition shows you usually get your f one of the best thir Place teams so we are still on course for that but ideally of course we we would have preferred to do it the other way around with the three points first against Switzerland and um yeah get looking for a point but then again I think Johnny said that on Wednesday night usually if you are playing for a draw it usually doesn’t end that way so now that we know what we need to do Liam this Sunday there’s only one outcome here that we can accept is it going to work to an advantage does Steve Clark have the coones to do it can he be adventurous what do you think Liam oh Steve Clark uh I thought we were very negative against Switzerland and I can you see him just completely changing his tactics and coming out and and going okay let’s re change the chape of the team I mean he might have to with be out but I don’t know he looks a very stubborn man we’ve talked to that before his personality is like you know he’s it’s not there he doesn’t have a you know imagine him being stuck you know with him in a pub one night or something try to talk like he’s he’s just so set in his mindset and all that and you know he builds up just just walls and barricades around his personality He makes himself hard to like and so when you see some of the tactics is that is he uses with the Scotland team and you know the you know his decision to play players that have not been getting games you know hardly playing all year but somehow they’re going to turn it on in the Euros you know we buy and it takes five games to bed them in because they’re no match fit you know they are playing in the biggest you know one of the biggest spectacles right now in the world so do you think he’s going to change his tactics n i I don’t think so I think they were really frustrating to watch on ralson side where rson Hanley um like the combo just on that Wing the amount of balls that were getting pinged backwards to each other in such a convin space it was only a matter of time before we got picked off by the way you know we’ve been talking we’ve been doing this for about what two and a half years now and times where we’ve spoke both online and off about oh always said I’d love to see a player like shakiri come and play for Celtic I thought like having like a weed Dynamite engine you know played in the MLS days hi rean hi so yeah chat there before you came on about just the Switzerland game and uh yeah obviously the as I said to Johnny on Wednesday night you know we took the lead obviously and it was another went down as an own goal ini they gave it to momy in the end I did find it quite funny that it’ be hilarious all the goals we scored at this tournament all own goals to be fair I think right now in the tournament on goal is officially the top goal scorer because I don’t think any player has managed to score more than a single goal yet so what what if on goal wins the Golden Boot what are they going to do about that what are they going to do um but yeah right after obviously we took the lead we were given a away stupid Corners right away and I said that to Johnny on Wednesday night wean you just felt like if Switzerland are going to get back into this it’s not because they’re a good team it’s not because they’re going to cut us apart it’s CU Scotland are going to do something really really DFT and unfortunally for Anthony Ralston he’s get caught out there you know the ball that was played to him wasn’t exactly the best in that little triangle of Play It was kind of came out a bit of force he’s not really looked up Regan he’s just passed it back blindly as I said Wednesday night could have been Instinct kicking in because you have to do a lot of Celtic we do a lot pass across the back line passing back the way and Stevie Clark and his tactics Regan they do it’s not the most adventurous tactics but you know he’s no looked up but at the same time and I did say Wednesday shakir’s finish is actually top draw he does not need to take that first time he has got enough time to take that ball in and Slot it by the goalkeeper but instead he’s put a bit of Sizzle on it rean but uh overall how are you feeling after that result um before we get into the deep part of the hungry game how are you feeling right now after Wednesday’s result um I’m feeling a a beat but I think like you said there I think sh are The Architects downfall I think in terms of that I think Tony rson and gr Hanley I think those two are totally to blame for that I mean I don’t know how people are know um BL in them I know people were saying that Tony rson doesn’t play much for Celtic and gr Hanley about uh you D to retire from Scotland but I think those two need to do a lot better there um and I think Scotland as well I think the one thing I took for the game for Scot but if you see every te that we got on the ball fi it look as if it look as if it were scared on the ball as if we didn’t know what we’re doing see when Switzerland had the ball they were slow bu up but they but they knew passes they want to play and every time they got in behind us and for and I was a bit lucky that they two off two offside chances that uh obviously that Scotland got the benefit of because yeah if there was definitely one that was on side then Scotland would have lost that game so yeah I think we we need to be wor about the amount of um territory that that we that we seem to let the opposition take control of the game all the time you know and I know they’re targeting rson and gr Hanley but we need to do a lot see if if they know that rson is the weakest player on the team they need to try and somebody needs to help him like even even if it’s if it’s K McGregor if it’s Billy somebody needs to drop back and help him because like I said this to on but a lot of these teams will will Target the weakest players and that’s what they exactly what they they did but I think you Dr didn’t play so there was L like the chance he was going to score and what day he scores he scored mate I know I just looked at the lineup for the first game shakiri didn’t feature so I was like he’s probably just there as the experienced head because he’s played at so many tournaments played at the top level but obviously played on um on Wednesday night and yeah I see we made it quite easy for him put on a plate but there is there is still point to the shakiri didn’t need to take that first time he had plenty of time to control it run through and Slot it away but instead he just went for the Hollywood finish and my word what a finish it was but yeah you right about the the Hot Potato sort of effect in the game because it did feel like that at times uh we didn’t seem to have that much control so some set piece delivery was horrendous but we did still have some chances Grant Hanley hitting the post for close range one of the good set pieces we actually put in uh good delivery for Andy Robertson and Grant hanley’s inside six yard box is a quear enough header somehow misses and then the one at the end the one that get fed across to Andy Robertson at the back post he heads it over and a cani AI gets there just before mctom and hooks I was J my seat at that point because I thought we’ scored I was like we’ scored that one but no it was denied and that’s why ai’s playing for the top team in English Premier League a player like that you know was a defensive awareness to get in there and just hook that away um yeah it just showed that um how good a player he is but a point and the end does keep us in the uh in the running for a third place um spot at the moment cuz second place is uh definitely not happening we would need for second place to happen this is what needs to go down Germany need to beat Switzerland by about five goals while we would need to be hungry by about the same for the goal difference to flip and for us to go into second place um I don’t think that’s going to happen us scoring a goal as a bit of a medical so let’s just baby steps but uh hopefully it’s don’t cost well we we’ll deal with later on I’ve got a we thing to look at later on but first and foremost let’s talk about our opponents Hungary because as I’ve done in the previous two shows got we fact file about the other opponents we’ve done one in Germany I you look at Switzerland so what do we know about the hungarians because uh bit of a power well they deemed to be a bit of a dark cost team so let’s see how how they are so go this is they’ve never actually hosted any tournaments at all but in terms of qualifying for tournaments they’ve qualified for nine World Cups but last one was back in 1986 um do you know rean what hungary’s best ever finish at a World Cup is no they’ve been beaten finalists twice they’ve been in the World Cup final twice however however for some context the last time that happened was 1954 they lost to West Germany sadly wasn’t able to see that much for yeah I although it is that hungry team I’m going to get on to it pretty soon they are deemed pioneers of football but you’ll find out why in J course but yeah they lost a 1954 final World Cup final to West Germany when they were the overwhelming favorites Germany were not the favorites it was uh Hungary were the favorites but they lost three2 they also lost the 1938 World Cup final to Italy but if you know the history of that it’s a little bit dodgy that was melin’s Italy and things were a bit bit corrupt to say the least Italy W back to back World Cups in the 30s and uh a bit of chicanery there but yeah they did lose that 4-2 to ity but it’s been a been a long time but yes they have actually got on the record some World Cup finals in terms of the Euros this is the fifth one that they qualified for their best ever shown at European championships third place when there was a third place playoff but again for context that was back in 1964 when nowadays it’s a 24 team tournament in the 1960s it was a four team tournament so they finished F at a possible four and in 19 2 they finished fourth as well but then they went on a bit of a baron run without qualifying they qualified in 2016 and they got to the second round and they went out in the group stages at the last European Championship so this is the fifth Euros that they have um qualified for in terms of the domestic division I’m not even going to attempt to pronounce the Hungarian for it I’m not even going to Brave that one but it translates his National Championship W so effectively division one and the most notable Club a team that is crossed Celtic path in recent years ferish faros they have won the title 35 times in Hungary but they are a country who are seen as Godfathers of the modern game because in the 1950s they completely revolutionized it and uh Liam what player is synonymous with the 1950s and 60s Hungarian football was that not an POA cogo’s hero f puskus it was indeed yes in Melbourne M yeah he was indeed I as his manager in South Melbourne in the 90s early 90s and uh pus gas’s legacy to this day is still well known because the puscas award gets handed out by FIFA every year to the best goal scored in a calendar year um and he is regarded as one of the finest Center forwards ever play the game but yes the uh team won that g the mighty magnar and um yes they were pioneers of the game in terms of the system they played they played what was aec a 3232 formation and up till the 50s football was pretty much a punt it and run type of game there wasn’t much skill involved but the hungarians revolutionized the game with possession based football and a lot of the terms that you see nowadays like deep lying midfielder inside forward fullbacks halfbacks all these types of terms were all coined by Hungarian football in the 50s but yeah faank puscas was the uh main man for them up top and of course he played for Real Madrid curiously enough he also has four caps for the Spanish national team in the 1960s how that came about and how that was allowed to happen I’m not 100% sure but yes he does according to Wikipedia he’s got caps for Spain as well so he’s played for two countries uh there you go um but yeah and the of course the famous one the the game I think that when you look through the history books that always gets highlighted is they famously beat England 63 at Wembley Stadium in 1953 and that was the first time that English football had witnessed a team playing this because English obviously are the ones that say they invented the game but again the sport was very much just punt it and run you know there wasn’t any view skill involved up till then and yeah then they watched the hungarians do it and uh it blew their socks off essentially uh in terms of the club success in Europe they haven’t had any of their teams contest a Champions League or European Cup final but they have had one team get to UFA Cup Final a team called vidon they got to the final in 1985 and lost to Real Madrid and they’ve had two teams contest the Cup winners Cup Final fish faros and mtk Budapest as a team at Celtic have also played in Europe This Century as well and both of them lost in those ones uh mtk lost to sporton lesbon in 1964 and fedish Ros lost to Dynamo Kiev while they were still part of the Soviet Union in 1975 they are currently ranked 27th in the FIFA world rankings going into the tournament they were on a hell of a streak in competitive games they hadn’t lost a competitive match is 2022 a Nations League game against Italy but in that same Nations League campaign they beat England for nil at M remember watching that one Regan yeah so they’re no mugs by any means they absolutely tanked tanked England the game was played at M I believe because Wembley was getting used for the women’s Euros I believe it was that so they had to play at M and uh yeah uh they got an absolute doing which uh they saw that one coming uh in terms of their danger men obviously Dominic soas who plays for Liverpool they’re number 10 he’s a Talisman right now and of course they have this Striker who they’ve been bringing Off the Bench Martin Adam who looks like he could easily be a WWE wrestler he’s absolutely huge man Mountain all the memes were doing the rounds the other day if he comes on if I’m Grant Hanley or Scott mckend or whatever I don’t really fancy my chance he’s going up for a header with him because yes he looks like an absolute monster the current manager is an Italian by the name of Marco and before the tournament they were the Hipster choice they were the ones that everyone was saying oh the dark horses oh go Hungary and so far they’ve played two they’ve lost two they are bottom of the group right now but that does not mean they are a bad team but they are a minus four goal difference with zero points so Liam knowing all that now no mugs certainly even though we can’t be fooled by the fact that they’ve lost the first two games cuz there is still a possibility again with the dynamic of the third place where third place team could go through with three points the goal difference has to be better but they’ll be looking at Scotland and going well this is a team that shipped five against Germany a team that clearly collapsed as soon as they ConEd an early goal so Hungary will be acutely aware Liam that if they scored an early goal on Sunday night they could do what Germany did to us I I mean they must be they must be very positive going into this this is a like like they want to go through but but they they’ll definitely want to beat beat Scotland right they’ll definitely beat us at that point and I I think I think they got the tools to do it because they’ve got they’ve got Speedy Strikers and they’ve got Strikers that know how to hit the target we don’t even know who our best Striker is right now you know so certainly not J Adams with what he’s shown you know so I I don’t have confidence right now you got anybody that can hit the target that’s going to be the the revealing thing two center backs are very very weak they don’t command itself and I think Scotland’s going to have to just I don’t know just tap into some enthusiasm it’s come with our fans I mean the best players for Scotland so far have been the support without doubt yeah it’s um they’re getting far more headlines and far more Buzz around Europe at this uh Championship than any of the players are so yeah see them yeah yeah I I don’t know I’m I’m no confident going into this game this this game is it’s it’s it’s been enjoyable what I getting here but man I thought we would have done a lot more and we just look so passive and so looks like a p holiday you know when you look at the the the Scotland team it’s a lot of good mates Sten used to say good teammates yeah yeah individual players that will sacrifice and take a goal and be selfish and try and you know just take the game on themselves no it just seems to be seems to be off we seem to to be very very nice and yeah nice teams don’t win cups you know no they they do not and Regan that’s the F we don’t want to be coming away from this tournament and I mean William’s right to point out rean about the the fans are getting all the Pod this but we’re not here just for to come away from it and UFA give Scotland a we award in a few months time for the best fans and all the all the praise that they’re getting I saw the the mayor of cologne she tweeted something other day say it’s been absolute Joy have the Totten Army and the city and they’ll welcome back any time and no trouble at all but we’re not here to be too nice it’s great that they’re doing that and that’s fantastic but we’re here to do something make history because as you’ve seen Regan Scotland don’t qualify for many tournaments this run of never getting out of group stage goes on and on and on if we don’t do it this time then who knows the next time we’ll qualify for a tournament so Williams right Regan we need we need not be too nice can’t be too passive we need to be aggressive on Sunday night and we need to go for it I say today is there for them and they need make sure they take it oh definitely a I mean it’s a watching Celtic I mean everybody says oh you get great fans you it’s great to be there the European night but you you don’t want to just be remember for the oh it’s it’s a fantastic H Celtic pars look brilliant or or the Scotland fans look because of the bike pipes you want you want to be remember that the the football you do on the on the the park I mean see for scorland there for I think it’ll be interesting on Sunday because I think we’ll be able to tell in the first three or four what exactly scoring team’s going to show up I mean we’ll be able to tell in the first three or four minutes if this is a proper scor or because what I don’t want to see is as I was just sitting back hoping for the best because see you get people like slob who you spoke about there if you’re able to to show him right well you’ve got enough time and space to do anything you want he’s going to score a goal he’s got so you need to close him down and say to him right this is going to be a hard game here and I’m looking for people like McGregor and I’m looking for people like CH Adams to show up and say this is a game that we want to become and make Scotland a country that’s that never made a European uh stage of qualifying we we want to uh make a new piece of reward for Scotland and take us there we don’t want to be remembered for just being the best F we remember for making some great moments for the country yeah do I know participation don’t get anything for that at all you get we p in the back and all the pr that but no we we W this is a chance cuz again you don’t know the next time when this is going to come around the World Cup in 2026 I know is going up to 40 teams I believe but um that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to make it easier for us because obviously it’s the World Cup so there’s only so many spots for UEFA teams and you got South American teams and whatnot so it doesn’t necessarily mean there’s going to be better teams qualifying there’s a better chance for Scotland so then the next Euros is going to be partly held in Scotland because it’s Scotland England Wales Northern Ireland and the Republic of isand or all hosting there was five host countries but they UFA have said that the Nations that are hos it will not get automatic qualification they’re going to have to qualify so Scotland could much like you know could uh have to host games but not actually be at the tournament so yeah there’s no guarantees when the next one’s going to come around so this is the chance to make it happen and the thing is we have the players there that is a decent enough croper players it’s just getting it right on the night and again there’s concerns there’s a man have the BS essentially to do it and that is the biggest worry V you want to say something there I saying it’s going to be in the UK it would be great but I think there’s just something special about it being abroad something special about about it being abroad everybody’s over there and and you’re experiencing a brand new country and you’re TR and you’re trying something different I think the fact that they’ll probably be in hamon park it’s still the same yeah look at the same sort of atmosphere of the same everybody’s so happy obviously you’re happy to be there but I don’t think it’s going to same appeal yeah yeah yeah I wonder if they do handing up for it I wonder if we actually get any sort of renovations to hand and it would still look exactly the same in 2028 um but yeah I I agree like the the last Euros which was played across like 11 different countries it was meant to be for like the 60th anniversary of the tour it was like it was a stupid idea I didn’t enjoy that I like the idea of it being in one I can handle two countries hosting it like when Poland and Ukraine hosted it Holland and Belgium hosted it together in 2000 I can get on board with a joint B like two countries hosting it next to each other but yeah it’s like five is too much but who be kidding majority of the games are going to get played at wble anyway in the in the 2021 just like that Euros in the 2021 was I felt like every game was wibley stadium so no doubt they’ll get pref treatment again but let’s look at the lineups and know predicted lineups whatever so once again I’ve thr together the graphics just again trying to guess what Steve Clark’s going to do um every time I’ve uh done this I’ve had shank W up top and he still hasn’t done it and I said we’ll see but any I’ll bring up the old Graphics see see what we go with this time so as much as I would love to think that Steve clarkk will be quite you know up for adventurous aggressive trying try and go we’ve got to win I don’t think he’s going to change to like four at the back or anything I think it’s still going to be very much cautious and all we need to do is score e goal that’s all we need we don’t need to go out and win by three four five we just need to win the game essentially so this is what I’ve went for um for Scotland take that Banner off the screen to6 so yeah there we go so gun obviously and go we te the be out I’ve got McKenna coming in Hanley because of pius’s suspension cuz the only Center back option I think that’s left now is Cooper and maybe mcro can but yeah Henry he’ll keep his place Ralston who I thought would have dropped out after the Germany game but he kept him in and I think if he’s stuck by him for the Germany game I still think he’ll stick by him even though what happened on Wednesday night was obviously a a disaster for the boy but uh you did see the players afterwards you know Robertson in particular you know talk him up because I thought in the second half Ron actually played pretty well I think he you know he could have easily crumbled but no I think he played well in the second half again the Midfield three M Celtic captain and Gilmore um that was for ug sunis momy I think he’s obiously such a great threat from Midfield so I’d see he is to be the guy behind the forward and yes shankland again as for hungary’s lineup that’s pretty much what they were playing against uh Germany and I think there’s only one other difference from their team against Switzerland but yeah SAS Li is obviously the guy to look out for but Liam in terms of that looking at that Scotland team do you think that’s pretty close to what we’re going to see on Wednesday night uh yeah I think so I think that’s what we’ll we’ll we’ll see I mean only change I’d like to see Forest get on so yeah what have you thought a CH Adams so far in the two games you’ve seen him do you think do you think he he offers us anything up front well the Germany game’s a tough one because what can you really judge him on because everybody behind him was terrible and he was playing the lone Striker but see Switzerland there was a point late in the game where I I was like oh I forgot Adams was on the park like I genuinely did and you’re throwing on shankland with like two minutes to go in a game that okay I know a point was still okay but why setle for okay that game was there to be won definitely Switzerland were definitely a team that we could uh we could took the threee points and it’s like he thrown on shankland as we’re going into stoppage time you know as the board goes up for four minutes and it’s like come on man so to me it’s like we Adams again I would again I’ve leaned towards going for shankland in this one but it would not Shock me one bit Liam if J Adams starts but if he does my God he’s got to start delivering he really does well and you can say the same with John mcin John and this team I’ve yet to see him command anything on this uh in this tournament he’s he’s not really came out and bossed it or showed it I mean you have a premier league player you know we know how much we cover Premier League players right yeah you know Stevie Clark just loves it if you if you play in England off you know you’re his boy right so what we’re going to see for John mcin that sort of like the you know sort of warrants him getting started and you know playing every game he is yet to show up and I think that will help the forwards as well too take some of the pressure at least if he can hard the ball in the Midfield but start making some passes for guys to run on a ball you know I I I I’d like to see sh up front as well he knows where the goal is he can hold the ball up and I think that’s going to be very important for us playing against Hungary I think you need like when the ball goes up it can he keep pinging back because we know they’re strong up front and that’s where we so we got to reverse the the distribution and the amount of time that we spend in our half and have that in their half and I think I think shanklin’s a much better option for Hing that ball and M we need him to start contributing as well if he does let’s replace him you know and I don’t mean we Ryan Christie you know I’d love to see someone come on and get a shot in that that spot you see all these other teams that are coming On You’ seen 18 19 year old boys getting starts you know people that are just new to the game are coming on and and doing really really well what do you make of the boy that plays for Spain is it yal 16 year old 16 that’s what I’m talking about right how do they get the respect in the and The Confidence from a manager at that age where we have to go through where you have to have played so many games for Scotland and yeah just Stevie Clark he just always goes with everything that’s with a different formation because he’s only took one natural Winger which is James Forest who else he might play leis Morgan there but that’s him throwing him in for his first ever cap Ryan Christie playing out wi remember he was doing that under L Ling in the co season don’t know if we find that but yes they got many natural white players so what’s he going to do so James for it does seem about a weird one because you’re right what the way he finished that season you know G South is a lot of flack right now for the way he’s picking his team for England and it’s like you pick the players that are in for him and James forest was in great for him but again it would involve Stevie Clark having to mix up his team and change it up and he clearly isn’t going to do that it looks like it’s only the only time James Forest will get on is if we are deep in the game on Sunday and we need a goal if it’s nil nil or we’re trailing 1 nil or whatever we need to get into it that’s when he turn to them but there’s other players as well like sh Armstrong hasn’t even had a sniff yet Kenny McAn got on before him the other night as well and there’s a few different players that have went out there where it’s just like you know try and utilize the full Squad I know it’s a 26 man squad you try and utilize especially Outfield players in some capacity to give them some kind of minutes but there’s a good chance there’s going to be a collection of players that will come back for this tournament then get a single minute on the park it looks like well it’s just it’s just B I mean what what’s the point of taking 26 players if you’re only going to stick to the same lineup every game you know and of course it’s good to keep a com the team and yeah keep us 11 but I mean like the Scotland H I’ve been playing for the last two games and I’ve not been inspired watching them so Sur you need to change things up same England they brought in the guy for Crystal Palace and they said oh we need to get this guy on the playe they brought in the guy for Chelsea Palma they said bring him in and they no played a single minute what’s the point what what’s the whole point of the media every that clamoring to get these players in and SP we need to bring in h kobin r man because he’s a better season than Jordan Henderson he’s been on the bench the full tournament yeah well says G Southgate he is a conserv made manager a bit like St Clark but the difference is G Southgate has got a truly world class set of players and he doesn’t know how to use them because he’s too defensive minded Stevie Clark though do make it what is the potential opponents if they make it because I’ve been try to work this out I said the other night on the show on Wednesday about if we finish F obviously there’s this this system where the top two go through automatically that’s simple enough but obvious you get six groups only four of the third place teams can go through give 16 so it gets a bit messy there because as I said on Wednesday night I was like I don’t understand how UFA decides which team from which group goes to play this team and that team apparently it’s all worked out but I had to look at the table on ufa’s website to have a we look at potential opponents so they’ve got it broken down into things like winner of Group B will play third place in either like group a group E group they’ve got like three groups together and I’m like so how do they decide that again I’m not really concerned how they decide that if Scotland are there then great whatever but do you want to know the potential opponents if Scotland make it do you want to hear it’s going to be so and again I can’t empe make it sad we didn’t make it well well no no no I think I think we’ll be quite uh I think if we did avoid this but I don’t want us to I want us to be there I want us to play these teams because we can at least say we be second but if Scotland where to make it there are three possible outcomes for them first of all they’ll be paired up with the winner of Group B that’s a potential one where they’ll be sent to play in Cologne on June the 30th and the winners of Group B have already been decided and it’s Spain who we played in the qualifiers so we could have a very quick reunion with the Spanish but yes J come on to be right obviously we beat them at handen right conditions obviously went our way that night we we got it right on the night but see the game in Spain we actually played really well for about 70 minutes and we scored a goal that I am still outraged that that VR decision joke but one SP got ahead they went and beat his two nil and it was I mean it was only the second go was a hickey tripped over the ball and oh it was a absolute mess another typically bad Scotland goal to lose but yeah there is a potential there that could be Spain that we play right so that’s one of the possibilities the other one is we might be sent to Frankfurt on the Monday the 1st of July to play the winner of group F so who’s in group F Portugal turkey the Czech Republic and Georgia so you’d have to imagine Portugal are probably going to win that group albe it they weren’t that convincing against the checks but yeah that is a potential one as well um yeah Liam do you do you fany a we game against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal if it comes down to that we are defense crisal Ronaldo running up against Grant Hanley Tony rson there you go hey Grant hanley’s got five years on Cristiano Ronaldo age wise keep that in mind you know chisan ronal five chin five chin as well oh I well the other one the other one right that is and I say this tentatively is the most favorable and again I don’t know how youa decide this if you look at the table it’s like winner of this group plays third place from this group this group or this group so I don’t know how they decide the which one but this is the most favorable one we’ll be paired up with group E and on Tuesday the 2nd of July we will play either Belgium who have not had a good start Slovakia the Ukraine or Romania so that is the most favorable one but again I don’t know how they do it I don’t know how it’s decided but that is the potential three groups that Scotland could end up being paired up with if they do finish FD on Four Points as one of the best third place teams that is a potential there so you’re looking at Portugal most likely Spain is a definite if it’s if it’s that path they go down and the other one is still quite open because Belgium have not started well uh Ukraine beat Slovakia today but Romania have beat Ukraine so that group is very very wide open uh but yeah I think it’s safe to say that if Scotland were in that position that’s the path we would want yeah definitely I mean um I think Belgium they probably get rid of the golden generation as well like remember they had Hazard and bongan and and those kind of players but all these players seem to have seem to have retired and moved on so I think we would fany chances and even if it was Slovakia as well I was Slovakia earlier Slovakia wasn’t that great yeah yeah so have fun to yourselves up against Portugal I think I would rather I think I’d rather just put PS in my eyes and watch that I mean probably yeah a a cricket score there even though I don’t watch cricket but you looking that I have score there oh yeah I mean it’s not an easy path you but I say if you’re looking if you’re looking at the three possible options the three groups we can compared up with Group B Spain guaranteed group F possibly Portugal and group E which is wide open at the moment and I say Belgium haven’t started video so maybe it won’t be Belgium um but yeah they’ve they’ve got to pull their finger out if there or they could be having an early exit and even though Romo Lukaku seems to be the most Cur striker in the world you can bit your bottom dollar if you came up against does he probably KN a hat trick anyway but see first of for I just want Scotland to be there I don’t care who they’re playing I am smart enough to know that if Scotland did get to the last 16 if we manag to pull off we’re probably not going much further than that I know it’s not a very advantageous way to think but I just want Scotland just take it off that they’ve now got that monkey off the back um but it’ll still be exciting nonetheless but either way we’ll just go to 50 minutes and obviously France and Holland are about to come out on the park so let’s do the dreaded predictions of how we think Sunday’s going to go so rean will Scotland get to the Four Points Mark and will they still be in the tournament will they get through one of the best third place teams come the end of the group stages will they still be there well I was talking earlier on a different play and I said two and0 but that was that was more my my heart talking in my head um do I honestly think we’ll win the game no do I want us to win yes but if you want my honest opinion I think we’ll going be three or four1 okay that’s fair that’s it it’s all about opinions it’s all the predictions at this point and it’s understandable uh Liam I have a funny feeling you might be along the same lines do you think Scotland are doomed do you think they’re going to do it they’re going to find a way somehow or are you pessimistic we always I’ve been watching Scotland now for over 60 years we always man to snatch defeat for the jaw of Victory and I know that pessimistic but my God that’s 60 years of you know well we had some good teams back then I know you know it’s difficult to beat stuff you know we difficult to beat but we always find a way to lose or draw or get out there and you know and we’ll probably play really well but I think there’ll still be like one [ __ ] up somebody’s going to let us do and somebody’s gonna make that that back or mistake and and as you see when we make mistakes we get punished the heat goes down and we don’t for us to win we need somebody to come out and just like take the game by the just you know get a hold of it and and be that man right I’m going to we need somebody to have a world day to somebody have a game and a Scotland shirt that’s not really done it before I hope it’s somebody like Kum McGregor you know times where he said like last season didn’t have very good season I thought but there was a couple of games against Rangers and I think and I just think for hilarity just for pure hilarity Hungary are going to score an own goal as one of our goal scorers we’re going to get through the group and three of the goal goal that we score is going to be own goals um I don’t think Tom did get awarded to him eventually because it was going on target but for the time it was just a massive deflection but I just have this funny feeling I’ll say we’ll get a penalty as well I’ll say we get a penalty and it’s an own goal that’s that’s the goals we’ll score a penalty kick and they’ll they’ll deflect one into their own net but I’ll say that Scotland will somehow find a way this is it finally going to do it and uh they’re going to get into that but then again I did say the top of the show I am still not surprised if some somehow Scotland get to Four Points but then there’s other teams that get a better record than them and we don’t go through with four points so don’t even be surprised if that happens guys because we’ve all been there Scotland as you say they are good at snatching the feet from the jaws of Victory something so typically Scottish and so typical hard luck of us so it wouldn’t even surprise me at this stage if that happened but nevertheless we’ll just well I say I just fingers crossed it’s going to be a nervy night on Sunday but I’m looking forward to it it’s still quite exciting man I know you’re a stats guy so is it still a possibility that we that we win the match and we don’t go through again I’d have to see how the other groups play out the problem we’ve got is we’re group a so we’re going to be finished on Sunday night group a and Group B can clude on Sunday but group CD andf have still got to play on the Monday and the Tuesday so once we’ve done our bit we’re on Four Points so you would expect that set but then we’ll have to keep an eye on the other groups there might still be some connotations that could affect us so it’s going to be a so that’s the thing but I’d still be pretty confident that with four points again history has shown that third place teams do go through on Four Points so let’s just hope that Scotland do not have that as a record to their name where they don’t qualify with that number but anyway we’re go ahead now because if France are literally sing on the national anim as I speak it’s going to be a slobber knocker of a game I hope between the Dutch and the French right now and uh yeah we’re heading off so guys enjoy the game on Sunday the plan will be to come back for a PMP after it as well so hopefully Scotland are giving me something
