The cyclist who was hit and killed by a truck Friday in Cambridge has been identified as her death renews a conversation about safety for cyclists.

    tonight we now know the identity of the latest cyclist to die after being hit by a car in Cambridge the 24-year-old’s death is RA raising major safety concerns wbz’s Laura hay is in Cambridge after speaking to bicyclists about this tragedy Laura this all happened around 8:30 a.m. Friday morning the middle sex District Attorney’s Office confirming 24-year-old miny dwin was riding through Hampshire and Portland intersection here in Cambridge when she was involved in a fatal crash you can see behind me flowers letters candles Left Behind memorializing The Young Life lost investigators say she was riding through this inter intersection when a truck made a right colliding with the bicycle she was rushed to Mass General where she died from her injuries the driver did stay on scene in the aftermath of the fatal accident like I said flowers memorializing her here and plenty of neighbors stopping by to remember her now again this is just a tragic accident for the area the second bicycle accident in recent weeks startling people who live in Cambridge who rely on bikes to get around sometimes it feels unsafe yeah I mean I bike very slow you got people just pulling in and out all the time and so it’s kind of like we got all these bike Lanes which are great but like people Park in them all the time and pull into to them all the time uh which could be tough and I feel for them I mean there’s nothing you can really say for them but that’s terrible now there is a vigil being held here tomorrow night to honor this young life this is an open investigation charges for the driver have not been announced in Cambridge Laura Hayley WBC news

    1. This is unfortunate, but let’s not act like people riding bikes are following laws and are stand-up citizens. Sad that she died, but people riding bikes through these major intersections and cities need to be more careful.
